College Basketball CBB DFS Picks

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Devin CarterPROVSHU980039.21
Devin Carter is definitely expensive, but he’s been worth it ever since Bryce Hopkins went down. In the last five games with Hopkins hurt, Carter is averaging 21 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 45 DK per contest. He’s being leaned on very heavily in the Providence offense and is filling up the stat sheet on a regular basis. The only reason not to play him right now is because of the price tag.
Jahmir YoungUMDIOWA860035.44830032.71
Jahmir Young continues to pump out DFS stud performances and is a top cash guard tonight. Maryland’s point guard is averaging 24.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 39 DK over the past 10 games. We can pencil him in for 20 points and 30-40 DFS points again tonight in a favorable pace-boost matchup vs Iowa. This will be a higher-scoring game than Maryland is used to playing in and Young will have the ball in his hands a ton to keep up.
Allen FlaniganMISSARK790034.07800032.14
Allen Flanigan is coming off a dud outing on the road at Auburn, but this is a great bounceback opportunity. Ole Miss gets a nice home matchup vs a struggling Arkansas team that plays fast and has a poor defense. Before last game, Flanigan had 32+ DK in eight of nine games and can easily return to that stud level. He usually stuffs the stat sheet as the Rebels’ top playmaker and is a top option in cash or GPP tonight.
Mark SearsBAMAAUB760033.36760030.78
Mark Sears has now scored 20+ points in four of the past five games and he’s averaging 19.8 PPG over the past 10 contests. Tonight’s matchup vs Auburn features the highest O/U on the slate and Sears should play a big role in Alabama’s side of the scoring. He’s the Tide’s top offensive option and can easily go for 30-40 DFS points at least in this uptempo home matchup.
Deivon SmithUTAHWSU  750025.18
Since Rollie Worster’s been out, Deivon Smith has become a go-to playmaker for Utah. The former Georgia Tech transfer has 30, 44, 31, and 44 FD points in the past four games with Worster sidelined. Smith has started the past three in Worster’s place and he’s taken on more shots and offensive usage while running the point. We’ll see if Worster returns tonight, but Smith is an excellent play if not – and it’s hard to see Utah taking the ball out of his hands either way.
Tramon MarkARKMISS740027.93700026.33
It’s almost impossible to trust any Arkansas players right now with the lineups and rotations changing by the game. The one guy we can barely rely on is Tramon Mark, who’s maintained a high-usage role despite the fluctuation around him. Mark is averaging 17.4 PPG and 29 DK over the past 10 games and has exploded for 40+ DFS points in a few recent outings. He appears to be locked into heavy shot volume and the GPP ceiling is there in a high-scoring matchup tonight.

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Justin HillUGALSU570018.33
A decent value on the DK slate is Justin Hill in the higher-total LSU vs Georgia game. Hill doesn’t start for UGA, but he leads the team in usage and shot rate during conference play while logging 20-30 minutes per game. He’s averaging 23 DK over the past six games with at least 18 DK in each. Another cheap Georgia guy to consider is RJ Melendez.
Riley KugelUFMSST570021.84570019.75
Riley Kugel has been very up-and-down for DFS and real life this year. He’s playing well right now, though, and is pretty cheap on both sites to buy low. Kugel has 25, 23, and 32 DK in the past three games since returning from a minor injury. Despite coming off the bench, he’s still playing starter-level minutes with a 25% shot rate during conference play.
Rylan GriffenBAMAAUB550018.93570017.27
Rylan Griffen is coming off a dud at Tennessee last game, but his is a nice bounceback opportunity. Tonight’s home matchup vs Auburn will be fast-paced and high-scoring, which is much more DFS-friendly than a road game vs the Vols’ top-tier defense. Griffen is averaging 12 PPG and 22 DK over the past 10 games and he’s been more consistently involved in the Bama offense since conference play began. He's a really affordable option to get exposure to the highest total of the slate.
Josh DixIOWAUMD560014.61580013.75
Over the past month, Josh Dix has stepped into a much bigger offensive role with a considerable uptick in playing time for Iowa. He’s logged 26+ minutes in four straight games with 20, 28, 37, and 25 DK in these past four contests. He’s also started three of the last four games. The bigger role has coincided with Patrick McCaffery being out, so keep an eye on his status before locking in Dix.
Mark ArmstrongVUSTJN540014.03
Villanova has dealt with some injuries lately and it’s opened the door for Mark Armstrong to take on a bigger role. He’s actually been a top playmaker for Nova in conference play with 24% usage and a 26% shot rate, shooting 52% from three in Big East action. Armstrong had 14 points and 23 DK vs St. John’s earlier this month and recently went off for 24 points and 37 DK vs Marquette. He’s a GPP option tonight if you want to bank on the hot streak continuing.
El EllisARKMISS390010.7648009.87
Arkansas continues to be an absolute headache for DFS. The team is struggling and Eric Musselman is switching up lineups and rotations on a game-by-game basis. One guy who might be relevant again is El Ellis. He was barely playing over the past two months but has now started the past two games with 32 and 23 minutes. He had 24 and 14 DK in those two starts. Pay attention to Arkansas’ starting lineup, though, because we could easily see Ellis go back to the bench and get a dirt-cheap starter in Keyon Menifield, Khalif Battle or someone else.

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Tolu SmithMSSTUF840032.42780030.20
Tolu Smith is fully back to being a regular DFS stud for us now that he’s healthy. In the last four games since entering the starting lineup, Smith is averaging 22 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 36 DK while in a high-usage role. The Mississippi State center is now a focal point offensively – just like he was last year for this team. Smith now gets an uptempo matchup vs Florida, who has one of the worst interior defenses in the SEC. It’s a smash spot for Smith despite playing on the road.
Oso IghodaroMARQDPU830029.46
Marquette is the latest team to benefit from a DePaul matchup. Even on the road, Oso Ighodaro should have plenty of success in the paint against a bad rebounding team with a weak interior defense. The Marquette big man is playing well right now, averaging 17 PPG and 37 DK over the past four games. It’s hard to see him busting in this favorable matchup.
Julian ReeseUMDIOWA820033.86830031.63
When Julian Reese is dominating the paint on both ends, he has the DFS upside to smash the slate. Tonight could be one of those big stat lines from the Maryland center. Iowa has the worst interior defense in the Big Ten and is one of the worst rebounding teams in the conference. Reese can realistically post a 15-point double-double with 40+ DFS points in matchups like this – not to mention the pace boost game flow too.
Johni BroomeAUBBAMA800034.5820032.38
Mark Sears has an argument, but Johni Broome is the top overall play from the highest total tonight. The Auburn center is averaging 14.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and nearly 4 blocks/steals per game over the past 10 contests while regularly being a DFS stud. He’ll now get a fast-paced matchup here against Alabama’s below-average frontcourt. Broome can get a double-double with 15-20 points and 35-40 DK in this spot with the GPP upside for a lot more.
Ben KrikkeIOWAUMD740027.53730026.32
Ben Krikke is the definition of a boom-or-bust GPP play. The Iowa big man has gone off for 35+ DK in five of the last nine games, but then was held under 20 DK in the four other contests in this stretch. His shot volume, minutes, and overall DFS production fluctuate so much game-to-game – yet we can’t ignore him because of that ceiling. Krikke is impossible to roster in cash but is very viable in GPPs on both sites.
Joel SorianoSTJNVU730034.17
We’re getting Joel Soriano at a season-low DK price tonight because of two down games in the past week. This is a great time to buy low at the discount overreaction with Soriano in a favorable spot here. Villanova is undersized in the frontcourt and the interior defense has struggled in conference play. Soriano can easily bounce back for a double-double and 30-40 DK tonight in this spot and he's about 1k cheaper than normal.

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Will McNair Jr.KSUISU570018.57530017.36
In the mid-5k range on both sites, Will McNair is still a viable value as has been the case for a while now. The Kansas State center is averaging 8.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 21 DK over the past 10 games. Since Big 12 play began, he’s putting up 9.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 23 DK per contest. McNair tends to do just enough to return value as long as he’s priced below 6k.
Jaylen WellsWSUUTAH  520016.13
On the FD slate, Jaylen Wells has recently emerged as a value for Washington State. The junior big man has started the past four games and is a bigger part of the rotation during Pac-12 play. He’s logged 30+ minutes in five straight contests and six of eight conference games. Wells is averaging 24 FD points over the past five with 11+ points scored and 4+ rebounds in six straight. He should probably be priced higher by now.
Jalen ReedLSUUGA500018.84
After recently recovering from an illness, Jalen Reed is back in LSU’s starting lineup with 21 and 18 DK in the past two games. Reed was regularly putting up 20-25 DK before the illness while doing just enough as a scorer, rebounder, and shot-blocker. He’s a solid value at 5k flat to get cheap exposure to one of the higher totals of the night.
Matthew NicholsonNWIL480015.72540015.32
Although he’s coming off the bench right now, Matthew Nicholson has played 31 and 27 minutes in the past two games with 24 DK in both. Nicholson began the year as a starter but he’s actually now playing a bit more as a reserve. Northwestern will need his 7-foot frame down low to match up with Coleman Hawkins and Dain Dainja for Illinois tonight.
Jordan MinorUVNCST44007.77
Jordan Minor has now started the past three games for Virginia and has seemingly taken over the center spot from Blake Buchanan. In these last three starts, Minor has 18, 28, and 15 DK while logging 25 minutes or so per game. He was previously barely getting playing time but it appears the former Merrimack stud has earned meaningful starting minutes moving forward. He’s still a bargain below 5k on the DK slate.
Michael NwokoMIAND37006.43
With Norchad Omier out last game, Michael Nwoko moved into Miami’s starting lineup and played a season-high 33 minutes. He had 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 15 DK in the new starting role – which we’ll take all day at this sub-4k price if he starts again tonight. There’s a chance Omier is back, which would make Nwoko basically unplayable. If the freshman center starts, though, he’s an option in cash or GPP.
