College Basketball CBB DFS Picks

CBB DFS Top Guards

Dalton KnechtTENNARK890032.39860030.37
Despite Tennessee losing by double-digits to Texas A&M last game, Dalton Knecht still had 22 points and 37 DK. His hot streak as he’s now averaging 26 PPG and 41 DK over the past 10 games while maintaining a heavy shot volume as the Vols’ go-to scorer. Tonight should be another good outing from Knecht with plenty of upside against a struggling Arkansas defense that’s the SEC’s worst at defending the three. Knecht is shooting 44% from 3-point range in conference play.
Jahmir YoungUMDIOWA850036.25840033.30
Jahmir Young has been a stud all season for Maryland in his high-usage point guard role. He’s been a great cash guard with GPP upside in uptempo matchups and gets one here at home vs Iowa. Young is averaging 22.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 39 DK over the past 10 games and was excellent for Maryland in the first meeting vs Iowa with 22 points and 38 DK. He’s a top overall play in all formats.
Kadary RichmondSHUXAV800035.77830033.25
We’re getting Kadary Richmond at a season-low DK price tonight because of two subpar games in the past three. Yet, those down efforts came in a blowout win vs DePaul (in his first game back from injury) and a blowout loss at Villanova. Expect a good effort from Seton Hall’s stud playmaker tonight at home in a nice-boost spot vs Xavier. He’s performed better at home from a DFS standpoint this season and also had 34 DK vs Xavier in the first meeting.
Markus BurtonNDGT780029.28
Notre Dame isn’t a good team, but Markus Burton has quietly been a strong DFS cash play. The Irish point guard is averaging 16.3 points, 7.7 assists/rebounds, and 31 DK over the past 10 games and he’s doing it even when his team loses by double digits. Tonight is a home matchup against a poor Georgia Tech defense and Burton had 28 DK in the first meeting. You can roster him in cash and feel pretty good about it.
Tyson WalkerMSUPSU730031.16790029.45
Tyson Walker has been a strong cash guard for most of the season and it should continue tonight despite playing on the road. Walker is averaging 17.4 PPG and 29 DK over the past 10 games and had 22 points/45 DK in a massive effort vs Penn St earlier this season. Despite just scoring 19 points and 30 DK last game, we’re still getting Walker at a slight discount for a guy that should be priced at 8k or higher – especially on DK.
Joseph Girard IIICLEMMIA690026.34670023.83
The prices on Joe Girard have risen after posting 35 and 29 DK in the past two games. Even so, he’s a nice GPP upside play tonight in a home pace-boost spot vs Miami. The key factor in this matchup is that Miami allows the ACC’s highest rate of scoring from three-point range. Well, Girard is Clemson’s clear top 3-point shooter and he’s draining 45% from three in conference play. Girard had 18 points (4-for-10 from three) and 34 DK in the first meeting vs Miami.

Bensley JosephMIACLEM570022.33520020.75
Keep an eye on Miami’s injury news before tonight’s game. Both Nijel Pack and Kyshawn George are questionable to play and we could see either or both sit out. In that case, Bensley Joseph and Wooga Poplar would be underpriced Hurricanes as they step into bigger offensive roles. Poplar just had a double-double and 31 DK last game while Joseph had a stat-stuffing 28 DK.
Jose PerezASUOSU610023.53
After two bad games, Jose Perez bounced back big time with 21 points and 31 DK in the upset win at Utah on Saturday. During conference play, the Arizona St offense is relying a lot on Perez and Frankie Collins. When Perez is active offensively with double-digit shot attempts, he has the upside for 15-20 points scored and 25-30 DK. Oregon State has the worst defense in the Pac-12 and Perez had 19 points/25 DK in the first meeting.
Braeden ShrewsberryNDGT540015.23
When Notre Dame played Georgia Tech last month, Braeden Shrewsberry went off for 25 points and 32 DK. We can’t expect a total repeat of that, but the freshman has been more consistent since then. He’s scored in double figures in eight of the past 10 games while averaging 13 PPG and 20 DK over this stretch. He’s also started the past two games for the Irish, which raises his floor a touch.
Tre DonaldsonAUBSCAR540017.14480015.81
Tre Donaldson just had a bad game in the blowout loss at Florida, but he can bounce back to be a solid value again for us at home here. Donaldson’s DFS floor has picked up recently since he entered Auburn’s starting lineup with 28, 21, and 20 DK in the three previous games. South Carolina does have a good defense, but Auburn and Donaldson will benefit from playing at home.
D'Marco DunnPSUMSU510012.48430011.53
D’Marco Dunn has now started the past four games with Kanye Clary out and seeing a slow ramp up. Dunn has played 28+ minutes in each of the past three starts (even with Clary back for two games) and he’s been more involved offensively for Penn State with this new role. We’ll see if it continues with Clary still recovering from the face injury. If Dunn starts again, then he’s a GPP value at his cheap prices.
Keyon Menifield Jr.ARKTENN450015.23450013.83
Rostering any Arkansas guys outside of Tramon Mark is very risky right now. The lineups, rotations, usage, and shots are changing by the game. If you want to take a chance on a Razorback tonight, Keyon Menifield could end up being a steal. He just had 15 points and 23 DK in 30 minutes last game and had 16 points with 23 DK in another recent game. Menifield also has double-digit shot attempts in three of the past four games now.

PJ HallCLEMMIA900037.18880034.89
PJ Hall is the best player for a Clemson team with one of the highest implied team totals tonight, so he has to be on our radar. This is a nice home pace-boost matchup. Hall has a size advantage over Miami big man Norchad Omier tonight and should have success at home. He’s averaging 19.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 36 DK over the past 10 games with a solid cash floor.
Julian ReeseUMDIOWA810033.74820031.39
In this season’s first meeting vs Iowa, Julian Reese had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 40 DK. The Maryland big man took full advantage of Iowa having the worst interior defense and worst defensive rebounding rate in the Big Ten. It’s a great matchup for Reese inside with a double-double and 35-40 DFS points likely incoming. He's a top forward play for all formats.
Jonas AidooTENNARK780027.13650025.90
Jonas Aidoo doesn’t always live up to his expensive prices, but he can in the right matchups. This spot against a weak and inconsistent Arkansas defense can be a ceiling game for the Tennesee big man. Aidoo has 30+ DK in five of the past eight games and is averaging 12.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 30 DK over the past 10 contests. He had a poor game vs Texas A&M last time out but can bounce back for GPP lineups here.
Donovan ClinganUCONNDPU770027.05
On the surface, Donovan Clingan has plenty of GPP upside in an easy matchup against an undersized frontcourt and poor DePaul defense. It could be a smash spot for the UConn center with a potential double-double and 35-45 DFS points on tap. However, the legit blowout factor makes him risky to fully trust. It’s a boom-or-bust play.

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Makhi MitchellARKTENN620015.64520014.66
Makhi Mitchell’s minutes and role have fluctuated a ton this season, but he’s seen more playing time and involvement lately with Trevon Brazile sidelined. In the past four games with Brazile out, Mitchell has played 25-35 minutes in each with 40, 40, 20, and 27 DK in those games. Facing Tennessee even at home is tough, but Mitchell’s increased minutes and overall production is hard to ignore at affordable prices.
Zach HicksPSUMSU570015.66480014.09
Zach Hicks has been a much bigger part of the Penn State offense lately. He has 14+ points scored in three straight games with 30, 31, and 26 DK in those outings. This is a big increase from most of the season and it’s coincided with Kanye Clary’s injury. Clary is back, but he hasn’t been very effective in two games since returning. If Hick’s increased role continues, then he’s a nice value.
Jack ClarkCLEMMIA470011.31490010.64
Since entering Clemson’s starting lineup, Jack Clark has 20 and 18 DK in the past two games with 29 and 33 minutes played. He should continue to start and the uptick in playing time will allow him to do just enough to return value. This is also a home pace-boost matchup vs Miami, so it’s a favorable spot to accrue DFS points. He’ll likely be priced above 5k after tonight.
Mady TraoreUMDIOWA30003.4433003.31
Despite not playing much at all this season, Mady Traore actually started the last game for Maryland. The 6-foot-11 sophomore played 20 minutes and had 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 14 DK in the start. It’s unclear whether this was just a one-game outlier or if Traore will continue to start. If he does, then he’s a definite bargain at his dirt-cheap prices.
