College Basketball CBB DFS Picks

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Baylor ScheiermanCREGU960037.98
This is simply rinse-and-repeat with Baylor Scheierman. The guy is consistently producing at a stud level right now with 45+ DK in three straight and four of the past six games. He’s averaging 18.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 39 DK over the past 10 games and we can pencil him in as a safe cash guard here at home against lowly Georgetown. Scheierman had 40 DK with a double-double in the first meeting and likely does that again.
RJ DavisUNCSYR920035.12
There are four guards priced above 9k on the DK slate. We already touched on Baylor Scheierman for cash above, but RJ Davis is the better option in GPP contests than Devin Carter or Tyler Kolek – though those guys shouldn’t be ignored either. As for Davis, he continues to play at an All-American level while averaging 22 PPG and 37 DK over the past 10 games. He went for 22 points and 39 DK vs Syracuse earlier this season and has the upside for another big stat line tonight in a high scoring, uptempo spot.
Reece BeekmanUVPITT810032.07
Reece Beekman will likely go overlooked because he’s playing in the low-scoring game of the slate. Still, the Virginia point guard regularly comes through with a strong cash floor in his high-usage role. Beekman is averaging 14.9 points, 6.6 assists, and 33 DK over the past 10 games and is usually good for 30+ DK on a regular basis. The ceiling isn’t high like other top-tier guards, but we’ll take his floor all day in cash – especially at home tonight.
Terrence Shannon Jr.ILMICH760033.47
Terrence Shannon started a bit slow since rejoining the team in mid-Janurary, but he’s picked it up lately. Shannon has 35, 28, and 39 DK in the past three games with 23, 18, and 28 points scored, respectively. He’s now seeing consistent heavy shot volume and usage as one of Illinois’ go-to playmakers like he was earlier this season before the suspension. This is an easy home matchup vs Michigan and Shannon should be perfectly fine in cash with GPP upside.
DJ DavisBUTLEMARQ670024.57
DJ Davis has continued his hot streak with at least 17 points scored and 30+ DK in six straight games. He’s averaging 20.8 PPG and 33 DK over this stretch and appears locked into shot volume and usage as Butler’s go-to scorer. Marquette does present a tough matchup, but Davis is still an upside GPP play in an uptempo home matchup – and he should be priced above 7k at this point.
Walter Clayton Jr.UFLSU660028.1
Zyon Pullin is the more expensive Florida guard to roster and is in play tonight too. Walter Clayton, though, is still a good bargain below 7k despite just scoring 20 points with 32 DK last game. His DFS floor/ceiling hasn’t been as strong as Pullin’s recently, but Clayton still has the 30+ DK ceiling at his best. Tonight’s matchup is a higher scoring, uptempo one at home against a shaky LSU defense. It’s a good spot to buy low still on Clayton.

CBB DFS Value Guards

Quadir CopelandSYRUNC600021.66
Quadir Copeland has taken on a bigger role with Benny Williams gone and he’s still cheap enough to consider a value. Copeland has 29 and 27 DK in the two games without Williams so far with 30 and 28 minutes played and stuffed stat sheets in both. He doesn’t start but is playing plenty in a 6-man Cuse rotation. If he has another good game, he won’t be priced this low much longer.
Riley KugelUFLSU550020.94
Despite scoring 22 points with 32 DK last game, Riley Kugel is still priced in the mid-5k range and a solid GPP bargain tonight. His DFS and real-life performances have been very inconsistent recently, but Kugel has the ceiling for 25-30 DK or more at his best – like he’s done in back-to-back games coming into tonight. In a high scoring, uptempo spot at home, Kugel is definitely in play for the upside.
Kam JonesMARQBUTLE540023.77
This is a good buy-low opportunity for Kam Jones at his season-low DK price. Jones has underperformed in four of the past five games, but he still has the GPP upside to eclipse 30+ DFS points in any given game. He did just two games ago when he had 31 real points and 39 DK. He recently returned from an ankle injury, but it’s good to see him take double-digit shots in back-to-back games since coming back.
Day Day ThomasCINCYISU530021.52
Unfortunately, Cincinnati runs a deep rotation and most of the guys are GPP plays at their current DK prices. One value to consider is Day Day Thomas, who’s the cheapest he’s been all season. It’s a buy-low opportunity after Thomas only had 9 DK last game vs Houston – which is totally understandable. Iowa St presents a tough matchup tonight too, but Thomas averaged 21 DK over the previous seven games and leads Cincy in usage with a 25% shot rate in conference play.
Jaelin LlewellynMICHIL49008.88
As has been the trend with Michigan on the road, expect Jaelin Llewellyn to be the starting point guard as Dug McDaniel sits in road games. Llewellyn has 22, 22, 23, and 14 DK in Michigan’s last four road games with McDaniel out. His minutes jump up to 30+ and his usage/shot volume increase notably when in this lead guard role. This is a pace-boost spot and Llewellyn can return value even if Michigan loses big.
Chase RossMARQBUTLE470014.83
After recently returning from injury, Chase Ross is back to playing 25-30 minutes for Marquette. He has 21 and 15 DK in two of three games since coming back while doing just enough across the board to return value. Ross isn’t starting right now, but he’s still logging starter-level minutes and his two-way versatility is crucial vs Butler’s smaller lineups. He's a decent value in one of the slate's higher totals.

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Ryan KalkbrennerCREGU900034.02
Despite the price increase, Ryan Kalkbrenner is still a safe cash forward with how consistent he’s playing. The Creighton center is averaging 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, and 39 DK over the past 10 games and has 30+ DK in 13 of the last 14 contests. Kalkbrenner went for a solid 33 DK vs Georgetown in the first meeting and should have similar or better success in this rematch with a notable talent and size advantage down low.
Armando BacotUNCSYR870033.9
Armando Bacot went through a slow stretch, but he’s gotten back on track with three straight double-doubles and 35-45 DK in these past three games. Bacot should still be considered a GPP play, but the upside for a 20-point double-double is always there when Bacot is at his best. We could get one of the ceiling games tonight in a higher scoring, uptempo matchup against a weak Syracuse frontcourt defense. He had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 35 DK in the first meeting vs Cuse.
Oso IghodaroMARQBUTLE810031.03
Oso Ighodaro is at a really solid price point for cash lineups as a consistent producer right now. The Marquette big man is averaging 15 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 36 DK over the past 10 games with at least 28 DK in 10 straight. He had a stat-stuffed 32 DK effort vs Butler a month ago and will play a crucial role on the road here for Marquette to avoid the upset. We can safely play him as long as he's priced in this low-8k range.
Coleman HawkinsILMICH790030.1
When Illinois played Michigan earlier this season, Coleman Hawkins went off for 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 56 DK with a ton of ancillary stat production. We can’t expect a repeat of that stat line, but the GPP ceiling is still high because of the favorable matchup – and at home this time. Hawkins has some cash floor but it does fluctuate, so consider him a better GPP upside play.

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Chris BellSYRUNC620017.92
We’ve mentioned Chris Bell in the playbook before as a value and he’s still cheap compared to his new production. Bell has taken on a bigger offensive role with a notable uptick in shot volume with Benny Williams off the team. He has 44 and 26 DK in the last two games since Williams left, with double-digit shot attempts and three-point attempts in both. This should be a higher-scoring game and Bell has a clear increased role in Syracuse’s offense with 30 and 16 points scored in two games without Williams.
Simas LukosiusCINCYISU570018.89
As mentioned above with Day Day Thomas, a lot of the Cincy guys are GPP plays – especially against Iowa State’s stout defense here. Simas Lukosius is one upside value to consider as he can go for 25-30 DK at his best. He can do a bit of everything, but his DFS value fluctuates with an inconsistent shot volume. Lukosius does take double-digit shots at times and if he does that tonight, he’ll exceed value.
Alex CondonUFLSU550020.44
Like Riley Kugel above, Alex Condon is another Florida value who’s tough to trust in cash but definitely in play for GPP upside tonight. Condon has the ability to post 20-25 DK at his best when he’s grabbing more rebounds and blocking shots. LSU presents an easier matchup for Condon and Florida than the past few vs Auburn, A&M, and Kentucky. In the mid-5k range, it’s a good buy-low spot for Condon at his season-low price.
Rafael CastroPROVSTJN36008.42
With Josh Oduro out last game, Rafael Castro got the start at center for Providence. He only played 12 minutes but was efficient with 12 DK in the limited time. If Oduro is out again tonight, expect Castro to play a lot more because Providence needs his size vs Joel Soriano for St. Johns. His size wasn’t needed as much vs Butler last game. If Castro starts again, he could easily get 20+ DK this time. Check on Oduro’s status though.
