College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 3/10

CBB DFS TOP GUARDS

Colby Jones – Xavier vs. Creighton ($8.6K DK/$8.1K FD)

Jones, our top guard in last night’s Playbook, scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half as Xavier knocked off DePaul 89-84 in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. He had a three-minute stretch just inside the four-minute mark where he scored eight points during a 10-2 run for the Musketeers. With a 25% usage rate and 16.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists over his last five games (34.40 DKFP), I am going right back to the well with Jones tonight against Creighton in a pace-up game.

Jordan Hawkins – Connecticut @ Marquette ($7.8K DK/$6.3K FD)

Kemba Walker. Shabazz Napier. Emeka Okafor. Richard Hamilton. All won National Championships and were all Most Outstanding Player of their respective NCAA tournaments. I have a gut feeling here that Jordan Hawkins may be a member of that list com April. The 6-foot-5 sophomore and All-Big East pick was the conference’s leading scorer in league play (17.3 ppg). He has hit 88% of his free throws and 38% of his 3-pointers and add a 27% shot rate and Jordan Hawkins is my “sneak” pick of the slate.

Other Top Guards:

  • Jamie Jaquez Jr. G/F, UCLA ($10.1DK/$8.6K FD) – Pac-12 Player of the Year scored 52 DKFP in an earlier meeting against Oregon.
  • Tyler Kolek, Marquette ($9.5K DK/$8.2K FD) – The Big East Player of the Year is a straight stud and a triple-double candidate every night.
  • Jahmir Young, Maryland ($8.0K DK/$7.5K FD) – Young is averaging 16 points (28 DKFP) with 28% usage over his last five games.
  • Marcus Carr, Texas ($7.5K DK/$7.4K FD) – Carr has settled into a 25 DKFP floor- is safe for cash.
  • Jordan Wright G/F, Vanderbilt ($6.9K DK) – Wright gets a $500 price bump but he is playing out of his mind right now – 38 DKFP last night against LSU. He is the straw that stirs Vandy’s drink right now.
  • Tyger Campbell, UCLA ($7.2K DK/$6.8K FD) – I will keep playing Campbell until he is at least $8K- five straight 30+ DKFP games and no signs of slowing down.
  • Nick Smith Jr., Arkansas ($7.1K DK/$5.8K FD) – Smith Jr. let us down last night but he is way too good to have another clunker. The future lottery pick has 40 DKFP capability tonight.
  • Sir’Jabari Rice, Texas ($6.2K DK/$5.7K FD) – Rice is en fuego with 100 DKFP in his last three games. He is going to be a star.

CBB DFS GUARD VALUES

Antonio Reeves, Kentucky ($5.9K DK)

I am locked in on Reeves tonight and his sub-$6K price. He is coming off a smash game against Arkansas where he put up 37 real points (42 DKFP). If Sahvir Wheeler is out again tonight I have no problem with Reeves and his 26% usage (last five games) slotted into a main lineup.

David Singleton, UCLA ($4.9K DK/$4.8K FD)

With Jaylen Clark out for the season, Singleton will get all of the minutes he can handle. He may see lower ownership tonight after only putting up 15 DKFP yesterday but I will go right to the well at this price.

Other Guard Values:

  • Camren Wynter, Penn State ($5.3K DK/$5.5K FD) – Wynter is too cheap for a guy that has put up 26+ DKFP in five of his last six games.
  • Ryan Dunn, Virginia ($3.7K DK) – With Ben Vander Plas out for the season, Dunn should see more minutes and is worth a shot at this minimum price on DK.
  • Donald Carey, Maryland ($3.5K DK/$4.5K FD) – Carey starts and has been playing 30 minutes but is totally shot-reliant- could help you nuke the slate if he gets hot (or could do the opposite).

CBB DFS TOP FORWARDS

Oscar Tshiebwe – Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt ($10.3K DK)

Tshiebwe has become UK’s first two-time All-America selection since Tayshaun Prince in 2001/2002) after being named to The Sporting News All-America Third Team.  He led the Wildcats in scoring (16.4) and rebounds (13.1) for the second-consecutive season and is the only player in the country averaging at least 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. Tonight, he faces a Liam Robbins-less Vanderbilt team that he smashed for 57 DKFP last week and if you have the funds this could be another one of those famous OT monster games.

Jordan Wright G/F – Vanderbilt @ Kentucky ($6.9K DK)

This is what I wrote in last night’s Playbook before Wright’s game against LSU: “After early season hip and back injuries Wright’s season has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. As the injuries and more early-season disappointments mounted, the senior had some uncharacteristically low scoring outputs, including just six combined points against Fresno St., VCU and NC State. In Wright’s first game back from injury in early February he had 12 points, three rebounds and two steals helped the Commodores stun No. 6 Tennessee, sparking an epic turnaround where Vandy began a red-hot stretch, winning four of their next five to vault themselves right back into the thick of the NCAA Tournament conversation. The main reason? Wright is now healthy and looks like the player he has been for the last few years scoring 23 and 19 points in his last two games against Kentucky and Mississippi State (34 DKFP in both contests).” Wright did continue to crush as he lit up LSU last night for a 15-point/15-rebound double-double and now faces Kentucky at a still sub-$7K price. Jordan Wright is back to 2021-22 form.

Other Top Forwards

  • Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana ($10.9K DK/$9.8K FD) – TJD is walking Fifty-burger but decisions have to be mad tonight. I lean Tshiebwe for my main lineup but TJD is a pretty darn good pivot.
  • Jamie Jaquez Jr. G/F, UCLA ($10.1DK/$8.6K FD) – Pac-12 Player of the Year scored 52 DKFP in earlier meeting against Oregon.
  • Azuolas Tubelis, Arizona ($9.6K DK) – After a mini-slump Tube is back with 47, 40 and 37 DKFP over his last three games.
  • Jack Nunge, Xavier ($8.1K DK/$7.9K FD) – Nunge is coming off a 45 DKFP game against DePaul and gets one of the highest scoring games of the slate. An Xavier/Creighton game stack could possibly win a GPP.
  • Jacob Toppin, Kentucky ($7.7K DK) – Toppin is quietly having a monster month and is averaging 30 DKFP over his last five games.
  • Arthur Kaluma, Creighton ($6.7K DK/$6.1K DK) – Creighton/Xavier is the marquee game of the night for fantasy purposes and Kaluma is one of my favorite plays from that game.

CBB DFS FORWARD VALUES

Dylan Disu, Texas ($5.5K DK/$5.7K FD)

Disu has a 26% usage rate over his last five games and if Timmy Allen is out again Disu is a lock as a main lineup play.

Quentin Millora-Brown, Vanderbilt ($4.0K DK)

QMB has taken over at the post with Liam Robbins out and if he can stay out of foul trouble, he should be good for 25-30 minutes and 4-5X Value. He scored 19 DKFP last night without scoring a point (five rebounds, five blocks and to dimes).

Matthew Nicholson, Northwestern ($4.7K DK)

Nicholson is a 7-footer with a 30% combined rebound and 8% block rate. He flies right under the radar and Penn State is allowing 7.2 rebounds per game to opposing centers. This is my sneak value of the slate.

Tre King, Iowa State ($4.0K DK/$4.7K FD)

King has scored 25 and 19 DKFP over his last two games.
