College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 3/1
CBB DFS Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Jalen Pickett | PSU | NW | 10300 | 40.7 | 9000 | 38.16 |
| As always with Pickett, he’s worth paying up for in cash if you have the salary to make it work. Penn State’s do-it-all player is averaging a strong stat line of 20.6 points, 6.2 assists, 6.2 rebounds, and 40 DK over the past 10 contests. He’s doing it at home, on the road, and against almost every Big Ten opponent. Expect more of the same tonight to anchor cash lineups. | ||||||
| Damion Baugh | TCU | UT | 8400 | 30.28 | 8100 | 28.05 |
| Both Damion Baugh and Mike Miles are in play for TCU tonight. Some may buy low on Miles since he’s priced cheaper and can easily go for 30-40 DK, but he’s not yet performing like the DFS stud we’re used to after recently returning from injury. Baugh, though, is stuffing the stat sheet and is still doing a ton even with Miles back. He’ll be looking to rebound from his poor 5-point game last time out, though the 23 DK he had despite the poor shooting is impressive. Baugh had 39 and 32 DK in the two games prior nd 32 DK vs Texas earlier this season. | ||||||
| Colby Jones | XAV | PROV | 8300 | 31.56 | 7400 | 29.49 |
| Jones has been a reliable cash guard all season and that continues tonight. He’s averaging 15.9 PPG and a stat-stuffing 30 DK over the past 10 games. That includes his 20 points and 30 DK vs Providence a month ago. Even on the road in this rematch, Jones should provide a safe DFS floor per usual. His price tag is pretty affordable on both sites compared to others in his range. | ||||||
| Marcus Carr | UT | TCU | 7900 | 30.37 | 7500 | 28.26 |
| Carr has been a strong DFS play over the past month in a high-usage role while stuffing the stat sheet for Texas. He’s averaging 33 DK over the last six games and has stepped up on the road at Kansas and Texas Tech in two of those. Carr won’t shy away from this road environment at TCU. He’s averaging 15.9 PPG and 27 DK on the road so far and went for 31 DK vs TCU earlier this season. We can count on another good outing from Carr here. | ||||||
| Tristen Newton | UCONN | DPU | 7300 | 24.48 | ||
| Rostering UConn players in a likely blowout of DePaul is definitely risky. Still, Newton is worth a look in GPPs for the 30+ DK upside. He’s put up a stat-filled 35 and 31 DK in the past two games coming into tonight and his ceiling performances have come against weaker opponents and/or uptempo matchups during Big East play – like his 49 DK and triple-double vs Marquette or 43 DK vs Georgetown recently. This is a pretty affordable price for the potential upside performance. | ||||||
| Jared Bynum | PROV | XAV | 6300 | 21.44 | 5700 | 19.83 |
| Providence gets a big pace boost at home tonight vs Xavier. You can look at Bryce Hopkins and Devin Carter, but Bynum is significantly cheaper than both for possibly the same DFS production. He’s a volatile play while being up and down for DFS lately, but the high is 30 DK or so at his best. Bynum went for 28 DK with a stuffed stat sheet vs Xavier earlier this season and can do something similar tonight. He also comes in hot with 14 and 18 points scored in the past two and 26 and 35 DK, respectively. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Boo Buie – Northwestern (GPP)
- Cason Wallace – Kentucky (Cash/GPP)
- Devin Carter – Providence (Cash)
- Wendell Green – Auburn (GPP)
CBB DFS Value Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Bruce Thornton | OSU | UMD | 5600 | 18.4 | 5600 | 17.02 |
| Thornton has taken on a bigger offensive role lately with Zed Key now out for the season. The freshman point guard has scored 19 and 20 points in the past two games with double-digit shot attempts in both. He’s produced 27 and 29 DK in these contests as well. Thornton was already a GPP value option, but this uptick in scoring is worth rostering in cash at cheap salaries on both sites. | ||||||
| Tyrese Hunter | UT | TCU | 4900 | 19.37 | 5200 | 17.58 |
| Even though Hunter has slumped in recent games, he still has the talent and upside to smash value at these cheap price tags. We’ve seen him wake up recently with 15 and 13 points scored in the past two games with 22 and 26 DK in those contests, respectively. He also had 20 DK vs TCU earlier this season. In a high-total matchup tonight, the path for value is definitely there for Hunter. | ||||||
| Trey Wertz | ND | PITT | 4800 | 18.37 | ||
| JJ Starling is out and Marcus Hammond could be sidelined again too for Notre Dame tonight. Wertz put up 28 DK in 38 minutes as a starter last game with those guys out and he’s a great value tonight. The Irish are seriously lacking depth, especially in the backcourt, and Wertz would be locked into playing time and an offensive role with at least Starling out. He’s also now gone for double-digit points and 22+ DK in back-to-back games. | ||||||
| Desmond Claude | XAV | PROV | 4100 | 11.13 | 3700 | 10.18 |
| If you want cheap exposure to one of the highest totals on the slate, Claude is your guy. The backup guard/wing is locked into Xavier’s sixth-man role with Zach Freemantle still sidelined – and that allows him to do just enough for DFS purposes. Claude is averaging 16 DK per game over his past five contests with Freemantle out, including 16.7 DK vs Providence a month ago. We’ll take that all day at his cheap prices. | ||||||
| Jahvon Quinerly | BAMA | AUB | 4000 | 15.24 | 4700 | 13.54 |
| Quinerly continues to be a volatile boom-or-bust GPP value. He just went for 16 points and 29 DK last game but is impossible to trust in cash. Tonight, though, Quinerly’s drastic home/road splits are in his favor in a high-scoring matchup. He’s averaging 21 DK at home this season compared to just 9.1 DK on the road. Quinerly has at least 22 DK in four of his last six home games. He’s really cheap for the 20-25 DK upside and a 5x return. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Adam Miller – LSU (GPP)
- Allen Flanigan – Auburn (GPP/Cash)
- Noah Locke – Providence (GPP)
- Cam Carter – Kansas State (GPP)
- Trey Thomas – Vanderbilt (Cash)
CBB DFS Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| KJ Williams | LSU | MIZZ | 8600 | 31.21 | ||
| In a high-total Missouri vs LSU matchup, we have both Kobe Brown and KJ Williams as upside forwards facing each other. Brown is definitely an option but has struggled on the road at times. Williams is coming in hot with 35 and 29 points scored in the past two games with 53 and 37 DK in those contests, respectively. He’s a volatile DFS play lately, but the ceiling is worth it in GPPs tonight – especially since he had a double-double and 36 DK vs Mizzou earlier this season. | ||||||
| Keyontae Johnson | KSU | OU | 8300 | 31.87 | 7700 | 29.03 |
| Johnson hit a slight lull in mid-February, but he’s back to producing like a top cash forward. The Kansas State wing scored 17 and 25 points in the past two games with 27 and 31 DK, respectively. He’s still averaging a solid 28 DK over the past 10 games and should be a great option tonight against Oklahoma with K-State seeking revenge for an earlier-season loss to OU. The price tags on both sites are very affordable for cash. | ||||||
| Ryan Kalkbrenner | CRE | GU | 8100 | 30.52 | ||
| Ideally, Georgetown keeps it close enough tonight for Creighton’s starters to be good DFS options – though the blowout factor is in play. Kalkbrenner can still have a ton of success against a weak Hoyas frontcourt. He had 16 points, eight rebounds, and 32 DK in this matchup earlier this season and should post similar numbers tonight. The Creighton center is averaging 29 DK over the past 10 games. | ||||||
| Brice Sensabaugh | OSU | UMD | 7900 | 26.55 | 7200 | 24.17 |
| Sensabaugh has been a volatile DFS play this season, but his usage and fantasy production are much safer now with Zed Key sidelined. He’s put 30, 32, and 25 DK in the past three games with Key out, including 20 points scored in two of those. Sensabaugh had 22 points, seven rebounds, and 35 DK at Maryland earlier this season and he can easily post similar numbers in tonight’s home rematch. | ||||||
| Timmy Allen | UT | TCU | 7300 | 24.9 | 6600 | 23.49 |
| Allen is always a risky DFS option, but the upside for 30-35 DK makes him a bargain at this price tonight. The Longhorns’ big man went for 17 points and a stat-filled 31 DK vs TCU earlier this season and we could see a similar stat line in this high-total rematch. If Eddie Lampkin is out again for TCU, then Allen will have a much easier time offensively in the paint. He’s a top GPP forward among the top-end guys tonight. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Brandon Miller – Alabama (GPP)
- Adama Sanogo – UConn (Cash)
- Jacob Toppin – Kentucky (GPP)
- Blake Hinson – Pittsburgh (Cash)
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Jakobe Coles | TCU | UT | 5500 | 18.22 | 5500 | 17.40 |
| Coles has been a solid value for us lately with Eddie Lampkin banged up. He’s averaging 11.6 PPG and 21 DK over the past 10 games while Lampkin’s been in and out of the lineup. Most of those outings saw 20-25 DK or more from Coles when his teammate was sidelined. Even if Lampkin plays tonight, Coles is a good value at his affordable salary because TCU will need depth in the paint against Texas’ slew of forwards. | ||||||
| Charles Bediako | BAMA | AUB | 5000 | 17.58 | 5200 | 16.80 |
| Bediako is a tad up and down for DFS, but he’s an attractive bargain tonight in a high-scoring matchup. The Alabama big man has 20 and 27 DK in the past two games and has 20+ DK in four of the last six contests. That includes his 20.7 DK effort vs Auburn last month. The Tide will need his size and defense down low vs Johni Broome tonight, so the minutes should be there for a stronger DFS floor than normal. | ||||||
| Dylan Disu | UT | TCU | 5000 | 17.11 | 5000 | 16.21 |
| Disu is coming off an excellent performance on Saturday when he scored 24 points with 36 DK vs Baylor. That upside is why he’s always in play as a GPP value, though tough to trust in cash with a low floor. In a high-total matchup vs TCU tonight, Disu can smash value once again. He had 14 points and 23 DK vs TCU earlier this season and is averaging 19 DK over the past 10 contests. He’s cheap enough to consider in GPP for the 4x or 5x potential. | ||||||
| Ven-Allen Lubin | ND | PITT | 4500 | 14.97 | ||
| The freshman big man went off for 19 points, eight rebounds, and 36 DK last game in a much bigger role with both JJ Starling and Marcus Hammond out. Even though those are backcourt injuries, their absences tighten the Notre Dame rotation even more and force Lubin to play more alongside Nate Laszewski. That was evident last game and Lubin is a great value again tonight with at least Starling sidelined. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Chris Livingston – Kentucky (GPP)
- Matthew Nicholson – Northwestern (Cash)
- Tyrell Ward – LSU (GPP)
- Collin Smith – Vanderbilt (GPP)
