College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 2/28
CBB DFS Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Tyree Appleby | WAKE | BC | 9400 | 34.74 | ||
| Appleby is expensive, but we’re paying up for his strong DFS floor right now. The Wake point guard is averaging 19.5 points, 6.6 assists, and 35 DK over the past 10 games and he’s been pretty immune to dud performances during conference play with his high-usage role. Appleby is also locked into a bigger offensive role with Damari Monsanto now out for the season. He had 21 points and 39 DK last game without Monsanto. | ||||||
| Jarkel Joiner | NCST | DUKE | 8900 | 31.25 | 8200 | 29.22 |
| In one of the higher totals of the slate, NC State’s guard duo of Jarkel Joiner and Terquavion Smith are both firmly in play. Joiner gets the nod because of the hot streak he’s on lately. He’s averaging 23 PPG and 42 DK over the past five games and 18.4 PPG and 35 DK over the past 10 contests. Joiner is priced up, but he’s been worth it recently. Plus, he went off for 21 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and 48 DK vs Duke earlier this season. | ||||||
| Jalen Hood-Schifino | IU | IOWA | 7900 | 25.8 | 6100 | 23.50 |
| Hood-Schifino went bonkers in an upset win at Purdue on Saturday with 35 points and 49 DK. That performance exemplifies the freshman’s pure scoring talent and DFS upside at his best. Though he doesn’t always perform like a top DFS guard, the GPP ceiling is definitely there at home in an uptempo, high-total matchup vs Iowa. He went for 21 points and 41 DK vs Iowa earlier this season. The FD price tag is especially too cheap. | ||||||
| Marcus Shaver Jr. | BSU | SDSU | 7200 | 29.88 | 7300 | 27.77 |
| A matchup vs San Diego State is definitely risky, but Shaver presents an attractive GPP play for the 30+ DK upside at his best. He and Boise St have a big opportunity to get a Tournament resume-boosting win tonight, which is something to take into account for player motivation translating to DFS performance. Shaver is averaging a stat-stuffing 31 DK at home this season and is pretty affordable on both sites for the same or better DFS points than others priced above. | ||||||
| De'Vion Harmon | TTU | KU | 6700 | 26.02 | ||
| If you want another top-end guard for GPPs, look at Harmon on the road here vs Kansas. People will be staying away because of the matchup, but Texas Tech’s point guard can easily go for 30-35 DK tonight and outperform his cheaper price tags. He has 30+ DK in six of the last nine games and is averaging a strong 16.7 PPG and 28 DK over the past 10 contests. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Tyler Kolek – Marquette (Cash/GPP)
- Gradey Dick – Kansas (Cash/GPP)
- A.J. Hoggard – Michigan State (GPP)
- Max Rice – Boise State (GPP)
CBB DFS Value Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Riley Kugel | UF | UGA | 6100 | 15.48 | ||
| Kugel has turned into Florida’s go-to option on offense since Colin Castleton went out. He has 20+ points scored and 30+ DK in back-to-back games, plus he’s seeing a 30% usage rate or so with Castleton sidelined. Even with a slightly elevated price tag, Kugel is still a value because we have to view him through a different lens right now. On the road at Georgia shouldn’t scare us off him. | ||||||
| Tyrece Radford | TA&M | MISS | 5900 | 25.11 | ||
| Radford’s price tag has plummeted below 6k after not producing more than 25 DK in six straight games. Even still, that makes him a bargain with a nice buy-low opportunity tonight because he’s still stuffing the stat sheet and offers a strong cash floor – despite not producing like a DFS stud right now. Plus, Radford tends to play better on the road while averaging 15 PPG and 27 DK away from home. | ||||||
| Keisei Tominaga | NEB | MSU | 5600 | 17.66 | 5500 | 16.17 |
| Tominaga has been a beast for Nebraska lately, averaging 21.5 PPG and 29 DK over the past six games since re-entering the starting lineup. The junior is seeing heavy shot volume and usage in the Cornhuskers’ offense and that likely won’t change since they’ve won five of the last six games with Tominaga in this elevated role. He’s really too cheap on both sites for this current hot streak and should be a popular value. | ||||||
| Tyrese Proctor | DUKE | NCST | 5400 | 18.75 | 4500 | 17.07 |
| Proctor has been a regular part of the Playbook recently and he continues to be a strong value as long as he’s priced this low. He’s averaging a solid 22 DK over the past 10 games and has at least 21 DK in six of the last eight contests. We’re seeing stuffed stat sheets and DFS production on a regular basis from the freshman. Now it’s a pace-boost matchup at home. | ||||||
| Payton Sandfort | IOWA | IU | 5000 | 19.47 | 5400 | 18.05 |
| Sandfort came up big for Iowa on Saturday with 22 points and 34 DK in the comeback win. Though he’s been up and down for DFS lately, he’s really affordable on both sites to get a cheap piece of the slate’s highest total. Sandfort can sometimes struggle to return value if he’s not hitting threes, but he did have 21 DK vs Indiana earlier this season despite going only 1-for-4 from deep. | ||||||
| Lucas Taylor | WAKE | BC | 3200 | 5.56 | ||
| Despite not appearing in a game since mid-December, Taylor logged 18 reserve minutes on Saturday with Damari Monsanto out. He gave Wake a spark off the bench and even received postgame praise from the head coach. Since Monsanto is out for the season, it’s possible Taylor continues as part of the regular backcourt rotation to finish out the year. He had 13 DK last game and is worth a look at almost min price. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Justin Moore – Villanova (GPP)
- Kyle Lofton – Florida (Cash)
- Jaden Akins – Michigan State (Cash)
- Kario Oquendo – Georgia (GPP)
- Stevie Mitchell – Marquette (Cash)
- James White – Ole Miss (GPP)
CBB DFS Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Trayce Jackson-Davis | IU | IOWA | 11200 | 45.96 | 9500 | 43.08 |
| If Jackson-Davis is on the slate, then he’s always in play despite the expensive price tags. We’re basically paying for his legit 30 DK floor at this point and hoping for one of those 50 DK upside games. Tonight could be another ceiling performance at home in an uptempo matchup vs a weak Iowa frontcourt. TJD went off for 30 points and 49 DK vs Iowa earlier this season and he’s currently averaging 21 PPG and 48 DK over the past 10 games. He’s dominated Iowa over his career and tonight should follow suit. | ||||||
| Kris Murray | IOWA | IU | 9500 | 38.03 | 8800 | 35.43 |
| Murray could go slightly overlooked tonight because he’s on the road and many will try to fit in TJD. Still, we just saw his 50 DK upside last time out and he has the upside to do it again tonight in a high-total, uptempo matchup. Murray is averaging a strong 18.7 PPG and 35 DK over the past 10 games and he went for 30 points and 51 DK vs Indiana earlier this season. | ||||||
| Derrick Walker | NEB | MSU | 8200 | 29.62 | 7500 | 27.23 |
| Since there are bigger-name and better forwards on tonight’s slate, Walker is a guy who will likely go overlooked. That makes him a great contrarian play in cash or GPP for a solid DFS floor and plenty of upside. The Nebraska big man is averaging a strong 29 DK over the past 10 games and he had 15 points, nine rebounds, and 33 DK vs Michigan St earlier this season. We just saw Walker’s 40+ DK ceiling two games ago too. | ||||||
| Eric Dixon | VU | SHU | 7300 | 28.39 | 6600 | 26.57 |
| If you watched Villanova beat Creighton on Saturday, then you know just how good Dixon can be at his best. The big man went for 31 points and 38 DK in the upset win and was effective offensively in the post and from deep (6-for-8 from three). Even before that game, Dixon’s been a solid DFS play regularly good for 25-30 DK. He’s averaging 15.3 PPG and 29 DK over the past 10 games and should have a talent advantage vs Seton Hall’s frontcourt tonight. Dixon had 19 points and 26 DK in this matchup earlier this month. | ||||||
| Dereck Lively II | DUKE | NCST | 6400 | 17.97 | 5600 | 17.36 |
| Kyle Filipowski is also worth GPP consideration tonight, but Lively is much cheaper for the upside against a below-average NC State frontcourt. Lively is very volatile and tough to trust for DFS, but we’ve seen his ceiling of 30 DK or so multiple times in the past month now that the freshman is more healthy. He’ll also benefit from playing at home, where his numbers tend to be better. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Jalen Wilson – Kansas (Cash)
- Quinten Post – Boston College (GPP)
- Jaemyn Brakefield – Ole Miss (GPP)
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Jalen Thomas | BUTLE | MARQ | 5700 | 15.67 | ||
| If Manny Bates remains out for Butler tonight, then Thomas is a solid value once again. He’s put up 25 and 19 DK in the past two games while starting in Bates’ absence. It’s nothing huge, but just enough to return value in cash lineups. This pace-boost matchup at home vs Marquette is pretty favorable as well tonight. | ||||||
| Bobi Klintman | WAKE | BC | 5400 | 12.84 | ||
| Klintman has been a solid value lately, but he’s now locked into more playing time and a bigger role with Damari Monsanto out for the season. Klintman moved into Wake’s starting lineup last game with Monsanto sidelined, and he went off for 34 DK and a double-double in a season-high 35 minutes. This is a really good sign moving forward for the freshman, who presents a nice bargain tonight. | ||||||
| Malik Hall | MSU | NEB | 5200 | 17.6 | 4500 | 16.27 |
| Hall continues to be a decent value as long as he’s priced in the mid-5k range and below. Though he’s coming off the bench, the senior is still playing starter-level minutes and can do just enough across the board to be a bargain. Hall has scored in double figures in three straight games with 20, 17, and 22 DK in these outings. | ||||||
| Miller Kopp | IU | IOWA | 4500 | 15.13 | 4300 | 13.77 |
| If you want cheap exposure to the highest total on the slate and Indiana’s favorable matchup vs Iowa, then Kopp is a great way to do it. The DFS floor isn’t too great, but Kopp has the upside to go for 20-30 DK when he’s making shots. Tonight presents a great opportunity with Iowa having the worst three-point defense in the Big Ten and Kopp draining nearly 48% from deep during conference play. He has 22 DK vs Iowa in the prior matchup. | ||||||
| Greg Gantt | NCST | DUKE | 3500 | 10.71 | 3800 | 10.13 |
| If Jack Clark sits out again tonight, then Gantt is a decent salary-saver at his dirt-cheap price tag. Gantt started on Saturday with Clark out and logged 24 minutes with 12 DK. It’s not much, but this was his most playing time and best game since early February because Clark’s been back. NC State will need Gantt’s size tonight vs Duke’s taller, athletic frontcourt. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Dre Davis – Seton Hall (GPP)
- Devin McGlockton – Boston College (Cash/GPP)
- Aleks Szymczyk – Florida (GPP)
