College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 2/22
CBB DFS Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Jarkel Joiner | NCST | WAKE | 8500 | 30.9 | ||
| After a couple duds at the start of February, Joiner is back to being a DFS stud with 52, 55, and 32 DK over the past three games. The NC State guard is seeing heavy shot volume and he’s actually outperforming Terquavion Smith lately. Both guys should be considered top plays in this uptempo matchup vs Wake Forest. As for Joiner, he put up 17 points and 31 DK vs Wake earlier this season and is averaging a strong 33 DK over the past 10 contests. | ||||||
| Marcus Sasser | UH | TUL | 8400 | 29.02 | ||
| Houston gets a nice pace boost at home tonight, so it puts both Marcus Sasser and Jamal Shead squarely on our radar. As for Sasser, he had 23 points and 41 DK vs Tulane earlier this season and always has the upside to match that here. He’s averaging 18.2 PPG and 30 DK over the past 10 games and has 20+ points scored in three straight coming into this matchup. Shead at $7100 on DK is also really attractive. | ||||||
| Caleb Love | UNC | ND | 8000 | 28.25 | 6600 | 25.80 |
| Love doesn’t always perform like a top-tier DFS guard, but he has that upside tonight against a weak Notre Dame defense. He went for 18 points and 29 DK vs the Irish earlier this season. Love comes in hot with 20+ points scored in four straight games and 32+ DK in four of the last six. His backcourt mate, RJ Davis, should also be strongly considered. | ||||||
| Cason Wallace | UK | UF | 7700 | 27.2 | 6800 | 25.27 |
| Wallace has come on strong for Kentucky lately with at least 29 DK in five of the last six games and averaging 33 DK over this stretch. The freshman is still prone to some duds, but his usage rate and shot volume in a playmaking role are higher right now with Sahvir Wheeler sidelined. Wallace also had 20 points and 33 DK vs Florida not too long ago. He’s pretty affordable on both sites for the upside. | ||||||
| Chucky Hepburn | WISC | IOWA | 6700 | 24.25 | 5700 | 22.25 |
| Wisconsin gets a major pace boost at home vs a shaky Iowa defense. That gives Hepburn plenty of upside to smash his price tags – especially at sub-6k on FD. The Badgers’ point guard racked up 33 DK vs Iowa earlier this season and has shown that 30+ DK ceiling in favorable matchups during conference play. He’s definitely a risky GPP play, but don’t overlook him. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Tyree Appleby – Wake Forest (GPP)
- Umoja Gibson – DePaul (Cash)
- Jaylen Forbes – Tulane (GPP)
- Jamal Shead – Houston (Cash)
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Antonio Reeves | UK | UF | 5600 | 18.74 | 4900 | 16.80 |
| Reeves will likely start and log big minutes in the Kentucky backcourt again tonight with both Sahvir Wheeler and CJ Fredrick doubtful. Though Reeves’ DFS production is still a bit scoring-dependent, at least the upside and opportunity for a larger share of the shot volume are there with his teammates’ absences. Case in point: he had 20 points and 29 DK in a recent game while seeing a whopping 21 shot attempts. He’s a decent upside value on this slate at some cheaper prices. | ||||||
| Riley Kugel | UF | UK | 5200 | 14.21 | 5500 | 13.08 |
| With Colin Castleton out, Kugel was Florida’s leading scorer on Saturday with his 17 points and a 29% usage rate. He now has 20+ DK in five of the last eight games since entering the starting lineup. Kugel also has 15+ points scored and 20+ DK in three of the last four. The freshman has seen an uptick in shot volume down the final stretch of the season with Florida looking toward next year. | ||||||
| Max Klesmit | WISC | IOWA | 5000 | 16.12 | 5400 | 14.89 |
| Klesmit presents a cheap way to get exposure to Wisconsin’s favorable pace-boost matchup at home against a subpar Iowa defense. While he doesn’t offer a great cash floor, the GPP upside is there for a 4x or 5x value tonight. Klesmit has scored in double figures in three straight games and five of the last seven. His three-point shooting presents a ceiling against Iowa’s weaker perimeter defense. | ||||||
| Jacobi Wright | SCAR | BAMA | 4000 | 13.11 | ||
| Most of us aren’t too glued into South Carolina right now, but Wright is actually mispriced tonight and could end up being a popular value. He’s now started four straight games – with at least 33 minutes – and has scored in double figures in three of these four starts. Wright has 20, 31, and 24 DK in those games and could easily post similar numbers in a pace-boost vs Alabama. Plus, Chico Carter being out should lock Wright into even more DFS production. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Noah Locke – Providence (GPP)
- K.D. Johnson – Auburn (GPP)
- Emanuel Sharp – Houston (GPP)
- JJ Starling – Notre Dame (Cash/GPP)
- Trey Thomas – Vanderbilt (Cash)
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Oscar Tshiebwe | UK | UF | 9500 | 39.55 | 9000 | 37.08 |
| Tshiebwe should dominate the paint tonight with Colin Castleton out for Florida. The Gators struggled on the glass and inside defensively vs Arkansas last game without him and Tshiebwe can feast in this matchup. The Kentucky center is expensive, but he’s firmly in play in all formats for the 30-35 DK floor and ceiling for a massive stat line. | ||||||
| PJ Hall | CLEM | SYR | 8700 | 26.23 | ||
| Hall comes in hot for tonight’s matchup vs Syracuse. The big man is averaging 19.6 PPG and 31 DK over the past 10 games and has at least 17 points scored with 30+ DK in seven of the last nine contests. Facing the Cuse zone defense is always a worry, but Hall went for 19 points and 11 rebounds in this matchup last year. Hall’s 44% three-point shooting at home also gives him more upside tonight. | ||||||
| Nate Laszewski | ND | UNC | 8300 | 28.32 | 7700 | 26.14 |
| Laszewski could go overlooked with so many other big-name forwards in action tonight. Nevertheless, the Notre Dame center can be a strong play for DFS in a pace boost vs North Carolina at home. He went for 28 DK vs UNC earlier this season and is averaging a solid 29 DK over the past 10 games. Though the Irish are losing games, Laszewski is still getting his numbers and he’s averaging 30 DK at home this season with a 50-burger vs Virginia Tech recently. | ||||||
| DJ Burns | NCST | WAKE | 7100 | 23.39 | ||
| When NC State faced Wake Forest a month ago, Burns smashed the slate with his 31 points and 50 DK performance. We’re not calling for a repeat, but that ceiling is definitely there against a weaker Wake interior defense and a rare pace-boost matchup for the Wolfpack. He’s also in good form, averaging 17.1 PPG and 29 DK over the past 10 games. This salary is very affordable for the chance Burns matches the DFS production of guys priced way higher. | ||||||
| Nick Ongenda | DPU | BUTLE | 6400 | 31.75 | ||
| Ongenda is back for DePaul after being out all season. The big man has 36 and 27 DK in his two games back and also entered DePaul’s starting lineup on Saturday with Yor Anei out. He could have a big advantage inside if Manny Bates is out again for Butler tonight. Even so, Butler is a terrible rebounding team with poor interior defense. Ongenda may go overlooked tonight, but he can easily smash value and is very affordable. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Armando Bacot – UNC (GPP)
- Kris Murray – Iowa (GPP)
- Liam Robbins – Vanderbilt (Cash)
- Johni Broome – Auburn (Cash)
- Adama Sanogo – UConn (GPP)
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Chris Livingston | UK | UF | 5900 | 12.64 | 4800 | 11.73 |
| Livingston is playing a bigger role for Kentucky in this homestretch of the season, especially with more minutes up for grabs with Wheeler/Fredrick out. The freshman has logged 30+ minutes in four straight and five of the last six games and he’s scored in double figures in three of the past four contests. Livingston has 29 and 30 DK in the past two games, including an impressive double-double vs Tennessee on Saturday. He’s an upside value tonight if he can keep it going. | ||||||
| Jalen Thomas | BUTLE | DPU | 5400 | 15.43 | ||
| We’ll have to see whether Manny Bates plays or not for Butler. With him out on Sunday, Thomas started and put up 25 DK across 30 minutes. Thomas’ playing time and DFS production have fluctuated this season, but Bates’ absence would lock him into a more solidified role and playing time. He’s a decent value against a weaker DePaul frontcourt. | ||||||
| Bobi Klintman | WAKE | NCST | 5000 | 12.34 | ||
| Klintman was previously buried on the Wake bench, but he’s logging 25-30 minutes per game over the past month as one of the team’s top bigs. The freshman also has 20+ DK in three of the last four games since seeing more playing time. Klintman’s uptick in minutes and overall DFS production makes him a great value until we see otherwise. He's a solid cheap way to get exposure to one of the slate's high totals. | ||||||
| Nick Pringle | BAMA | SCAR | 4300 | 8.55 | ||
| Charles Bediako is banged up right now, so we could see Pringle get more time in Alabama’s frontcourt as he did over the weekend. Pringle exploded for 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 40 DK over 21 minutes in Bama’s blowout win on Saturday. Maybe that had more to do with the blowout factor than Bediako being limited, but it still has Pringle pointing up for tonight’s matchup. We may see Pringle out there more often with the Tide expected to win big as well here. | ||||||
| Aleks Szymczyk | UF | UK | 4000 | 4.31 | 3500 | 3.89 |
| The freshman has barely played this season but he’s now getting an opportunity with Colin Castleton out for the rest of the season. Szymczyk had 27 DK in 20 minutes off the bench on Saturday with a filled-up stat line including eight points, six rebounds, and four steals. Even though he’s not starting, the Florida big man can still be a good value and he may be out there more often than not if Jason Jitobah gets into foul trouble against Oscar Tshiebwe. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Robert Allen – Ole Miss (Cash)
- Ven-Allen Lubin – Notre Dame (GPP)
- Tyrell Ward – LSU (GPP)
