College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 2/21
CBB DFS Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Markquis Nowell | KSU | BAY | 9100 | 36.84 | 8400 | 33.44 |
| Nowell will be a popular pay-up guard tonight in cash lineups. He’s averaging a strong stat line of 16.6 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 34 DK over the past 10 games. The K-State point guard also went off for 32 points, 14 assists, and 55 DK vs Baylor earlier this season. In a high-total matchup at home against an inconsistent Baylor defense, Nowell should anchor cash lineups once again. | ||||||
| Colby Jones | XAV | VU | 8800 | 32.17 | ||
| Jones continues to be a reliable source of DFS production among the top-tier guards. He stuffs the stat sheet in multiple ways and consistently pumps out 30 DK performances. As noted in recent playbooks, his role has increased to an even safer level lately with Zach Freemantle out. Jones is averaging 31 DK over the past 10 games and should be a safe cash option tonight. | ||||||
| Jordan Miller | MIA | VT | 8100 | 29.56 | ||
| The Miami-VT matchup has the highest total on the slate with a tight spread, so we can look at both sides for DFS. For the Hurricanes, Miller presents a strong play and should be more popular in cash than both Isaiah Wong and Nijel Pack. He’s averaging 15.2 PPG and 31 DK over the past 10 games with at least 27 DK in seven straight. Miller fills up the stat sheet in multiple ways from his wing position and should do it again tonight. He had 30 DK with plenty of ancillary stats vs VT earlier this season. | ||||||
| Adam Flagler | BAY | KSU | 7900 | 29.65 | 7200 | 27.31 |
| Both Adam Flagler and Keyonte George can be considered top guard plays tonight in a high-total matchup with Kansas State. We’re giving the nod to Flagler because the vet won’t shy away from this road environment and he’s averaging 17 PPG and 31 DK on the road this season, whereas George has some duds away from home. Flagler also went off for 23 points and 39 DK vs K-State earlier this season and has 20+ points scored in three of the last four games. | ||||||
| Ryan Nembhard | CRE | MARQ | 7600 | 25.89 | 6300 | 23.78 |
| There are a ton of ways to go to get Creighton exposure in a pace-boost home matchup vs Marquette. As for the Bluejays’ guards, Nembhard gets a slight nod over Scheierman and Alexander. He’s gone for 39 and 35 DK over the past two games and is averaging a solid 12.2 PPG with 28 DK over the past 10 outings. Nembhard is more of a GPP play tonight because he doesn’t always perform like a top-tier guard and Creighton spreads the production around, but there’s plenty of upside in an uptempo game environment. | ||||||
| Matt Bradley | SDSU | CSU | 7300 | 23.27 | ||
| We always love the late-night hammer for DFS CBB, and Bradley presents an excellent way to get exposure to the 11 pm ET tip on DK. He’s playing well lately with 33, 30, and 26 DK over the past three games. Bradley also had 29 DK and a filled-up stat sheet vs Colorado State earlier this season. He’s a volatile DFS option, but offers upside at this price for a strong performance to carry your lineups deep into the night. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Anthony Black – Arkansas (Cash/GPP)
- Marcus Carr – Texas (Cash)
- Sean Pedulla – Virginia Tech (Cash/GPP)
- Nijel Pack – Maimi FL (GPP)
- Justin Moore – Villanova (GPP)
CBB DFS Value Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Wooga Poplar | MIA | VT | 5000 | 16.75 | ||
| If you want cheap exposure to the highest total of the slate, then Poplar is your guy at 5k flat. The Miami wing is averaging a solid 18.9 DK over the past 10 contests and he’s put up 21+ DK in three of the last five. In an up-and-down matchup, Poplar should do just enough to return value and he could be a popular play in cash with this cheap price tag. | ||||||
| Nick Smith Jr. | ARK | UGA | 4900 | 14.97 | ||
| Smith recently returned from injury and is being slowly reworked back into the Arkansas rotation. On Saturday, the stud freshman started and logged 32 minutes while putting up 10 points and 15 DK. It’s encouraging to see him back starting, playing 30+ minutes, and taking double-digit shots. Since he hasn’t produced much in his three games back, Smith is now priced below 5k and that makes him a glaring value. He put up 26+ DK in all three of his full-strength games before getting hurt. | ||||||
| Milos Uzan | OU | TTU | 4300 | 15.79 | ||
| This is a really cheap price for Oklahoma’s starting point guard in a nice home matchup vs an inconsistent Texas Tech defense. Plus, Uzan just went for 15 points and 26 DK on Saturday at Texas. The freshman also put up 18 points and 27 DK vs Tech earlier this season and could easily replicate those numbers tonight. Uzan is a solid value below 5k. | ||||||
| Jahmai Mashack | TENN | TA&M | 4200 | 11.68 | 3900 | 10.90 |
| Targeting anyone from Tennessee, especially on the road, is always risky. Still, Mashack presents a ton of value tonight if either or both of Josiah-Jordan James and Julian Phillips remain out. Mashack has started the past two games in their absences and he went off for 16 points and 33 DK over 34 minutes vs Kentucky on Saturday. The opportunity is definitely there if James and/or Phillips are out again. | ||||||
| Adam Seiko | SDSU | CSU | 3900 | 11.27 | ||
| If you want a cheap dart throw in the late-night game, Seiko isn’t a bad choice. Yes, his game logs are a mess and he has an equal chance of having less than 5 DK than going for 15-20. Still, there’s upside tonight because he’s playing at home and against a poor Colorado State three-point defense. Seiko is averaging 14 DK with a 53% three-point rate at home vs 6.3 DK and 38% on the road this season. He has 24, 32, and 21 DK in three of the last five home games. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Sean East – Missouri (Cash)
- Nike Sibande – Pittsburgh (Cash)
- Otega Oweh – Oklahoma (GPP)
- Langston Love – Baylor (GPP)
- MJ Collins – Virginia Tech (GPP)
CBB DFS Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Trayce Jackson-Davis | IU | MSU | 11800 | 47.05 | 9500 | 44.13 |
| If you have the salary to fit him in, TJD is always in play if he’s on the slate. The Indiana big man is on a tear with 50+ DK in four straight games and averaging an insane stat line of 24.9 points, 13.3 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, and 54 DK over the past 10 games. He’s dominated on the road, at home, and against every Big Ten opponent. Jackson-Davis went off for 31 points, 15 boards, five blocks, and 65 DK vs Michigan State earlier this season. He’s expensive but worth it. | ||||||
| Justyn Mutts | VT | MIA | 8600 | 33.64 | ||
| In the highest total of the slate, both Justyn Mutts and Grant Basile should be strongly considered in all formats. You likely can’t go wrong with either one, but Mutts offers a slightly safer DFS floor with his assists and all-around stat accumulation. The Virginia Tech point-forward is averaging 12.9 points, 6.4 assists, 6.3 rebounds, and 33 DK over the past 10 games. He can anchor cash lineups tonight at an appropriate price point. | ||||||
| Ryan Kalkbrenner | CRE | MARQ | 8400 | 30.78 | 8000 | 29.50 |
| Creighton really missed Kalkbrenner’s size in the paint in a December loss to Marquette. In this rematch, expect the Bluejays’ center to play a big role and be a great DFS cash stud in a pace-boost and home matchup. Kalkbrenner is averaging 30 DK over the past 10 games and offers a strong floor of DFS production every time out. | ||||||
| Keyontae Johnson | KSU | BAY | 7800 | 32.05 | 7700 | 29.19 |
| Johnson could end up being a popular play with an affordable DK price that’s his lowest since November (when he was mispriced). The price decrease is probably because he’s failed to eclipse 30 DK in five straight, but he still has 28 and 26 DK over the past two. Johnson went off for 24 points, nine rebounds, and 41 DK vs Baylor earlier this season and could easily do the same tonight. | ||||||
| Oso Ighodaro | MARQ | CRE | 7300 | 28.77 | 7100 | 27.51 |
| When looking at Ighodaro’s price compared to other top forwards tonight, he’s a bargain if he performs at his ceiling. The Marquette big man has the upside to go for 30+ DK any time out, just like he’s done in the past two games. Ighodaro put up 16 points and 28 DK vs Creighton earlier this season but has to deal with Kalkbrenner this time around. Still, the GPP upside to smash this price is there if he stays out of foul trouble. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Jack Nunge – Xavier (GPP)
- Grant Basile – Virginia Tech (Cash/GPP)
- Eric Dixon – Villanova (Cash)
- Joey Hauser – Michigan State (GPP)
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Race Thompson | IU | MSU | 5400 | 19.36 | 4700 | 18.35 |
| Thompson is really affordable for his talent level and known upside. Yes, he hasn’t been as involved offensively or for DFS purposes since returning from injury. Still, the potential for 20-25 DK or more is always there. Thompson is at a season-low price point right now and can easily return value at his best. | ||||||
| Malik Hall | MSU | IU | 5300 | 17.3 | 4400 | 15.95 |
| Like Thompson above, Hall is a solid value forward in this Indiana-Michigan St matchup. Hall is coming off a 14-point, 20-DK performance on Saturday and always has the ability to post a similar stat line in any game. He’s been up and down since returning from injury, but Hall will benefit from playing at home where he’s better offensively this season. The cheap FD tag is really attractive in cash. | ||||||
| Jalen Graham | ARK | UGA | 4100 | 10.91 | ||
| Graham is the definition of a boom-or-bust value play. The big man sometimes barely plays off the bench for Arkansas – and then he’ll go off for double-digit points and/or 20-30 DK and smash value. Graham did just that on Saturday with his 26 points and 39 DK across 27 minutes. Yes, it was a season-best performance, but he’s shown that upside multiple times this season. At home vs Georgia presents an easy matchup tonight for Graham and Arkansas – so he’s worth a GPP dart throw. | ||||||
| Brock Cunningham | UT | ISU | 3800 | 13.2 | 3500 | 12.39 |
| As has been the case all season, the Texas forwards are all boom-or-bust GPP plays tonight. Cunningham, though, is very cheap for the potential 6x or 7x return. He just went for 23 DK last time out and is averaging a decent 14 DK over the past 10 games. That’s not bad at his sub-4k price tonight and there’s an upside for 20+ DK. It’s worth a look in GPPs. | ||||||
Also Consider:
- Keshad Johnson – San Diego State (GPP)
- Jordan Walsh – Arkansas (Cash)
- Jonas Aidoo – Tennessee (GPP)
- Mohamed Diarra – Missouri (GPP)
- Guillermo Diaz Graham – Pittsburgh (GPP)
