College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 2/18
CBB DFS Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG |
| Drew Peterson | USC | STAN | 8700 | 32.97 |
| Peterson went off for 30 points and 55 DK on Thursday and is again a top guard option tonight. Outside of a couple of recent duds, USC’s point forward regularly stuffs the stat sheet in a high-usage role with heavy shot volume. His DFS cash floor is usually pretty safe and that should continue against Stanford at home here. Peterson and Boogie Ellis are both good plays tonight in the high-8k range. | ||||
| KJ Simpson | COL | ARIZ | 8300 | 29.54 |
| Simpson likely goes overlooked because he’s sandwiched between the USC and Tulane stud guards, not to mention guys like Wendell Green. Still, that makes him an excellent GPP play in a pace-boost matchup against Arizona. The Colorado point guard is actually performing slightly better on the road this season and has the upside for 30-35 DK any time out. | ||||
| Jalen Cook | TUL | USF | 8200 | 34.75 |
| Cook has been a stud all season for Tulane in a high-usage point guard role. He’s been especially strong lately with 20+ points scored in five straight and seven of the last eight games. Cook is averaging 21.1 PPG and 39 DK over the past 10 games and should be a popular play tonight in the highest total of the slate. His backcourt mate Jaylen Forbes is also a top option, but Cook has the higher floor. | ||||
| Tyler Harris | USF | TUL | 7600 | 28.08 |
| Harris would already be a strong DFS play tonight, but USF getting a notable pace boost at home makes him an even better option. The talented fifth-year point guard is now starring for USF after stops at Memphis and Iowa State. Harris is averaging 19.1 PPG and 32 DK over the past 10 games in a high-usage role and he’s put up 33+ DK in four of the last five. Expect him to be a popular play in all formats tonight in an uptempo, high-scoring matchup. | ||||
Also Consider:
- Jalen Pickett – Penn State ($10200) – GPP
- Wendell Green – Auburn ($8400) – Cash
- Jaylen Forbes – Tulane ($8100) – Cash/GPP
- Courtney Ramey – Arizona ($7000) – GPP
CBB DFS Value Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG |
| Andrew Funk | PSU | MINN | 5500 | 20.19 |
| As long as he’s priced in this mid-5k range, Funk is a solid value. He’s averaging 14.3 PPG and 22 DK over the past 10 games. Funk also has at least 21 DK in seven of the last 10 outings. Though he can be a bit pure scoring-dependant, there’s upside against a weak Minnesota defense. The Gophers have the worst three-point defense in the Big Ten and Funk is shooting 41% from three in conference play. | ||||
| Luke O'Brien | COL | ARIZ | 4900 | 14 |
| O’Brien has been a strong value for us lately and that continues with him still priced below 5k tonight. He actually moved into Colorado’s starting lineup on Thursday and put up 26 DK and 10 rebounds across 36 minutes. Even as a backup recently, O’Brien has 21+ DK in three of the last four games while playing a bigger role for the Buffs with J’Vonne Hadley sidelined. He could be a popular cash value in a pace boost matchup. | ||||
| K.D. Johnson | AUB | VAND | 4600 | 15.17 |
| Johnson is a volatile DFS play, but he’s trending up lately. The reserve guard has 29 and 27 DK in the past two games and has now scored in double figures in five of the last six. The price tag has risen a bit, but he’s still a decent value below 5k with how well he’s playing over the past month. | ||||
| Michael O'Connell | STAN | USC | 4400 | 13.38 |
| O’Connell has been a really good value for us recently and he’s still priced cheap enough to consider in all formats. The point guard is averaging nearly 20 DK per game over the past seven contests and has at least 22 DK in four of those. He can do just enough across the board to return value at this sub-5k price. | ||||
| Koren Johnson | UW | ORST | 3300 | 11.99 |
| The Washington backcourt rotation continues to be in flux, and Johnson is the latest Huskies guard to see an increased role. After previously being buried on the bench, he logged 33 minutes last game and put up 22 DK with a stuffed stat sheet. Maybe it’s just a one-off, but it’s notable that he saw all that playing time while PJ Fuller got a DNP. Johnson also had 19 DK vs Oregon St earlier this season and he’s been productive for DFS when given the minutes. | ||||
Also Consider:
- Allen Flanigan – Auburn ($5900) – GPP
- Jamal Bey – Washington ($4800) – Cash
- Kylan Boswell – Arizona ($3800) – GPP
- Trey Thomas – Vanderbilt ($3300) – GPP
- Kanye Clary – Penn State ($3100) – GPP
CBB DFS Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG |
| Azuolas Tubelis | ARIZ | COL | 10100 | 38.25 |
| People will likely avoid Tubelis tonight after he’s put up duds in the past two games. However, that makes him a great contrarian GPP play who could easily go off for 50-60 DK at his best. Tubelis has shown that upside multiple times during conference play and tends to perform better at home. He’s expensive but brings a massive ceiling. | ||||
| Kevin Cross | TUL | USF | 8400 | 31.67 |
| Tulane’s center is stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis and he should be a popular cash forward play tonight. Cross is averaging 15.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 34 DK over the past 10 games and is coming off a 57 DK outburst last time out. Interestingly, Cross is performing slightly better on the road with 19 PPG and 36 DK per game away from home. His passing ability is a great indicator of a strong DFS floor. | ||||
| Mitchell Saxen | STMRY | BYU | 7600 | 29.16 |
| When Saint Mary’s played BYU last month, Saxen went for a double-double and 35 DK. Though he’s failed to perform like a top forward DFS play in recent games, the upside is always there for the center. He has the ceiling for 30-35 DK any time out and should benefit from playing at home tonight. Saxen is better suited for GPP lineups at this price and some inconsistent play. | ||||
| Russel Tchewa | USF | TUL | 6600 | 24.43 |
| The sub-7k price tag of Tchewa is really attractive on this slate, and it may make the USF center more popular compared to other high-priced forwards. He’s playing well lately with 30+ DK in three straight and averaging 13.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 27 DK over the past 10 contests. Tchewa will not only benefit from the pace-boost at home tonight, but his top-tier defensive rebounding ability should give him double-digit boards against a terrible offensive rebounding squad in Tulane. | ||||
Also Consider:
- Keion Brooks – Washington ($8500) – GPP
- Oumar Ballo – Arizona ($8200) – GPP
- Harrison Ingram – Stanford ($7100) – Cash
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG |
| Cedric Henderson Jr. | ARIZ | COL | 5700 | 15.7 |
| Henderson has been a mainstay of the Playbook lately and he continues to be a solid value as long as he’s priced below 6k. He now has 22+ DK in three straight and four of the last five games. Since re-entering Arizona's starting lineup, Henderson’s DFS production is at a much safer level to trust in cash and his recent form is encouraging. | ||||
| Tylan Pope | TUL | USF | 5500 | 16.68 |
| Pope presents a pretty affordable way to get exposure to the highest total on the slate. The power forward is averaging 24 DK over the past five games with 25+ in three of those. He’s also started the past three contests for Tulane, who will need his versatile size against a bigger USF lineup tonight. | ||||
| Dylan Cardwell | AUB | VAND | 3400 | 14.6 |
| Cardwell could be thrust into a bigger role tonight if Johni Broome is limited with his ankle injury. Plus, Auburn needs his size to slow down Vanderbilt 7-footer Liam Robbins tonight. Cardwell just had 27 DK last game and has shown 20+ DK upside when given the playing time. Even with Broome expected to play, Cardwell is still worth a GPP dart at this cheap price. | ||||
| Will Tschetter | MICH | MSU | 3000 | 4.33 |
| We could see Tschetter start a second straight game tonight for Michigan if Terrance Williams sits out again. Tschetter started and played 26 minutes on Tuesday with Williams out. He only had 12 DK, but the increased playing time raises his floor to a solid 4x or 5x value at his min DK price. | ||||
Also Consider:
- Brandon Angel – Stanford ($5500) – Cash
- Corey Walker – USF ($5300) – GPP
- Malik Hall – Michigan State ($5200) – Cash
- Jaden Henley – Arizona State ($4300) – GPP
- Monty Bowser – California ($3100) – GPP
