College Basketball CBB DFS Top Plays November 7

CBB DFS Top Guards

Nick Smith Jr.ARKNDSU93000

UPDATE: Nick Smith is reportedly out tonight. Anthony Black and Davonte Davis get a boost now.

It remains to be seen which Arkansas players end up being the most valuable for DFS and how the rotation shakes out with so many newcomers. Nick Smith will surely play a key role as an incoming top-five high school recruit and projected top-5 pick in the NBA Draft. He’s expensive, but the GPP ceiling is there for Smith to score 20+ points and be one of the slate’s top DFS plays tonight. There is risk with this being a likely blowout and Arkansas’ deep rotation, though. Anthony Black is in the same boat as being a high-priced GPP play from the Razorbacks.

Kendric DavisMEMVAND850034.02
The Memphis-Vanderbilt matchup is the only one with a single-digit spread on this slate, which is something we love for DFS when it comes to starters playing more often than in blowout scenarios. Kendric Davis is now the main offensive playmaker for Memphis after winning AAC Player of the Year honors last year at SMU. The veteran point guard can put up 30-40 DFS points on a nightly basis and will likely be popular in cash. Davis has been dealing with an ankle injury but he’s expected to play tonight.
Wendell Green Jr.AUBGMU760027.01
With Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler off to the NBA, the Auburn offense will be revolving more heavily around Wendell Green and K.D. Johnson in the backcourt. Green was already in a high-usage point guard role last season, but he’ll be needed more as a scorer now. We know we’re getting a solid DFS cash floor with Green as he’ll be plenty involved on the offensive end from a points and assists perspective.
Cason WallaceUKHOW73000
The five-star freshman should be a big part of Kentucky’s offense early on with both Oscar Tshiebwe and Sahvir Wheeler likely out to begin the year. The Wildcats still have a ton of talent, but Wallace should stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis. Wheeler’s absence would mean Wallace takes on more ball-handling duties as well. That’s good news for DFS purposes and it means we can get a big performance from him in this opener, even in a blowout scenario.
Pelle LarssonARIZNICH690015.78
Larsson is a popular breakout player candidate this season as he’s expected to take on a bigger role for Arizona with Bennedict Mathurin, Dalen Terry, and Christian Koloko gone. Expect him to be much more involved offensively after playing in a backup role to Mathurin last year. He could easily lead Arizona in scoring this season while stuffing the stat sheet with a big uptick in usage and shot volume. The blowout factor is in play here, but Larsson is locked into more playing time with Courtney Ramey out and shorter ‘Zona rotation.
Jett HowardMICHPFW60000
Hunter Dickinson is still the headliner for Michigan, but Howard should be playing a key role this season. The freshman is the son of head coach Juwan Howard and comes to the Wolverines with a ton of hype. He just scored 30 points in a recent exhibition game and could do something similar in this likely blowout win. There’s a ton of upside here for GPPs at an affordable price, though it’s tough to trust in cash until we see what his true role is game-to-game.

Also Consider:

  • Anthony Black – Arkansas ($9000 DK) – Cash
  • Jeremy Roach – Duke ($8300 DK) – Cash
  • Davonte Davis – Arkansas ($7200 DK) – GPP
  • Kerr Kriisa – Arizona ($7000 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Mark ArmstrongVULSAL52000
The freshman is likely starting at point guard for Villanova tonight and could see a ton of usage right away. Justin Moore and Cam Whitmore are both out to begin the season, so Armstrong will relied upon more to run the offense in their absences. He could go under-the-radar on this slate, but the cash value is there for 4x or 5x return if he’s logging heavy minutes in the Villanova backcourt.
Ezra ManjonVANDMEM510026
The UC Davis transfer will likely start at point guard for Vanderbilt this season with Scotty Pippen Jr. off to the NBA. We’re not calling for him to duplicate Pippen’s DFS stud performances from last year, but that’s a ton of usage and offensive responsibility to replace. Manjon averaged 15 PPG and 26 DK at UC Davis last season and may not see much of a drop off from those numbers as Vandy’s lead point guard now. He’s a solid value in the mid-range, especially when you consider this matchup vs. Memphis is the tightest spread of the slate.
Davonte GainesGMUAUB410025.61
Gaines is simply too cheap on DK and presents excellent value. Yes, he plays for George Mason and has to face Auburn on the road, but he’s mispriced here. The former Tennessee transfer was a regular starter for Mason last year and averaged 33 minutes and 25 DK points per game. Gaines performed well against power conference teams a year ago and won’t shy away from Auburn either tonight. He’s a great salary-saver in cash.
Kobe BufkinMICHPFW38005.77
Bufkin is now moving into a starting role in Michigan’s backcourt after seeing minimal time off the bench last year behind Eli Brooks and Devante’ Jones. It’s tough to tell how much he’ll be involved on offense on a game-to-game basis, but there’s upside here. Bufkin scored 21 points in a recent exhibition and could be among the top scorers for a Wolverines team that lost four starters from last season.
CJ FredrickUKHOW33000
The former Iowa transfer missed all of last season but is now back healthy and should be starting for Kentucky right away. He’s expected to be one of the top scorers for Kentucky, especially with Sahvir Wheeler and Oscar Tshiebwe sidelined to start the season. This is too cheap for a guy that should log 20-30 minutes and put up 20 DFS points or so, even in a blowout win. There's a ton of upside too if he gets hot from three.
Luke YoderNDSUARK30000
Yoder is a very interesting value play on this slate. He’ll likely be barely rostered because people have no idea who he is, but there’s a real chance he returns 6x or 7x value at min price on DK. The Division III transfer is expected to start at point guard for North Dakota State, which should give him a lot of usage overall. Plus, this is a pace-boost scenario against Arkansas – though the matchup itself is a tough one. Still, Yoder is expected to replace a lot of NDSU’s offensive production lost from last year’s squad.

Also Consider:

  • Damian Chong Qui – Purdue Fort Wayne ($5100 DK) – Cash
  • Tyrese Proctor – Duke ($4800 DK) – GPP
  • Zep Jasper – Auburn ($4800 DK) – Cash
  • Jordan Davis – Wisconsin ($3500 DK) – GPP
  • Adama Bal – Arizona ($3000 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Hunter DickinsonMICHPFW910036.52
Dickinson is back as Michigan’s top dog and he’ll be a regular DFS stud for us to roster. If you’re new to DFS CBB, know that Dickinson should always be considered for cash lineups with the floor and ceiling as high as anyone in the sport. If you’re familiar with him, then you know what you’re getting with the Michigan center. The Purdue Fort Wayne frontcourt shouldn’t slow him down much tonight. Expect Dickinson to be popular in all formats.
Azuolas TubelisARIZNICH840027.81
Tubelis was great last year for Arizona and he could be even better this season. The big man will be more important offensively with Bennedict Mathurin, Christian Koloko, and Dalen Terry all in the NBA now. Against less-talented frontcourts in non-con play, Tubelis can shine in favorable matchups like tonight. It’s a bit risky due to the blowout factor, but Tubelis has the GPP ceiling to put up 30-40 DFS points tonight.
Eric DixonVULSAL780020.79
Dixon is priced way up compared to last year, but that’s because he’s now playing a much bigger role for Villanova. The ‘Cats lost Collin Gillespie and Jermaine Samuels in the offseason while Justin Moore and Cam Whitmore are out to start the season. That means Dixon should be heavily involved on offense right away as one of the veteran members of the squad. The La Salle frontcourt doesn’t have much size to defend his post scoring ability. On this slate, he's more of a GPP play than cash.
DeAndre WilliamsMEMVAND700024.19
There are a lot of moving parts for Memphis’ roster from last season, but Williams is back as one of the top players. It’s tough to tell how much he’ll be involved offensively with Kendric Davis now in town, but expect him to be a nightly threat for a double-double and 30 DFS points. The price is nice for Williams, who can easily outproduce some of the more expensive forwards tonight. Still, limit to GPPs because Memphis’ DFS production and rotations are always unpredictable.
Tyler WahlWISCSDU650024.37
With Johnny Davis and Brad Davison now gone, Wahl will be relied upon more on the offensive end as possibly Wisconsin’s primary scoring option. He’s priced like he was last year, but that was with significantly less usage and shot volume than he should have this season. So it’s a bargain for a guy that can produce 30+ DFS points at his best. Until we see otherwise, the Badgers’ offense is mostly Wahl and Chucky Hepburn.
Jacob ToppinUKHOW640013.4
Toppin is expected to take on a much bigger role for Kentucky after being a bench option last year. That heavier involvement from both a scoring and rebounding perspective will get started right away in the opener with Oscar Tshiebwe likely sidelined. Toppin should be starting and stuffing the stat sheet in his expanded playing time and role in the frontcourt. The price is attractive in the lower-end of the top-tier forwards for the potential of 30+ DFS points.

Also Consider:

  • Jordan Wright – Vanderbilt ($8700 DK) – Cash
  • Kyle Filipowski – Duke ($7700 DK) – GPP
  • Yohan Traore – Auburn ($7300 DK) – GPP
  • Oumar Ballo – Arizona ($6700 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Steven CrowlWISCSDU530017.48
Crowl is back as the starting center for Wisconsin. It’s not a flashy pick for GPPs, but the DFS cash floor should be there for enough points, rebounds, and blocks. The 7-footer will have a size advantage over South Dakota’s frontcourt and the path to 20+ DK is there if he stays out of foul trouble. In a recent exhibition, Crowl led the Badgers with 14 points and could be a bigger part of the offense now that Johnny Davis and Brad Davison are gone.
Dylan CardwellAUBGMU440010.94
One key injury to monitor tonight is Johni Broome. The Morehead State transfer is dealing with an ankle injury and is a question mark to play tonight. If he’s out, then Cardwell could end up starting in the frontcourt for Auburn. Those starter-level minutes would mean a solid cash floor of rebounds, points, and a couple blocks. If Allen Flanigan and Jaylin Williams are also out, then Cardwell could be on the floor a ton tonight.
Fousseyni DrameLSALVU430018.06
Remember the Drame twins from Saint Peter’s? Well they’re now at La Salle and Fousseyni is especially cheap on this slate if he’s starting. Both brothers are expected to play big roles in the frontcourt for La Salle, but it remains to be seen what the rotation and starting lineup will look like. If Fousseyni starts, then we could get a 5x return with his ancillary stat production and all-around production.
Ryan YoungDUKEJAC380016.43
It’s possible we see Young start in Duke’s frontcourt tonight with Dereck Lively potentially out. If that’s the case, then the Northwestern transfer is way too cheap and should be heavily considered in cash lineups. Young was plenty valuable for DFS last year in a bench role and can give us 20-25 DFS points with his scoring, rebounding and ancillary stats despite playing on a more-talented Duke squad. Lively being out opens up a bunch of minutes in the frontcourt for Young.
Josh LeBlanc Sr.NICHARIZ300014.92
LeBlanc is now on his fourth team in four years after transferring from UAB and spending the previous seasons at LSU and Georgetown. Now at Nicholls State, he’s expected to start and play a key role on both ends. The 6-foot-7 forward can play both power forward and center spots and will benefit from a pace-boost matchup here against Arizona. At min price on DK, he can easily give us 15-20 DFS points and return value if he’s logging starter-level minutes.

Also Consider:

  • Emmanuel Ansong – Vanderbilt ($3700 DK) – GPP
  • Omar Payne – Jacksonville ($3000 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Core Plays

  • Hunter Dickinson – Michigan
