CBB DFS Top Guards

Terquavion Smith- North Carolina State @ Butler ($8.6K DK)

Smith has that special quickness and burst- like Jaden Ivey last year or Ja Morant. Considered the best NBA prospect to return to school this year after being one of the best freshmen in the nation last year. Smith has started slow, but he has still scored at least 15 points in four of his five games played while shooting 50+% from the field. Terq is due for a breakout game and do not be surprised if it’s tonight.

Tristen Newton- Connecticut @ Alabama ($7.2K DK)

Newton, two games removed from a triple-double, had another monster game last night. He finished with 23 points, four rebounds, five three-pointers, six assists and two steals as UCONN advanced to the PKI semifinals to face Alabama. The Huskies dragged Oregon into a fullcourt game and Newton took over. At this price, he is in play again tonight.

AJ Hoggard- Michigan State vs. Oregon ($6.9K DK)

Hoggard is once again one of the better point-per-dollar plays of the slate.  My main concern, though, is that the team is short-handed with Malik Hall and Jaden Akins both out with injury and Hoggard has been logging big-time minutes and it won't get much easier with three games in the next four days.

Other guards to consider:

Santiago Vescovi- Tennessee ($7.9K DK)

Chase Hunter- Clemson ($7.8K DK)

Jarkel Joiner- North Carolina State ($8.2) Below 17 pts just one in six games

Julian Strawther- Gonzaga ($7.0K DK)

Casey Morsell- North Carolina State ($6.6K DK)

Cameron Parker- Portland State ($5.4K DK) Solid price

CBB DFS Top Guard Value

Shahada Wells- TCU vs. California ($5.0K DK)

Wells transferred from UTA before last season but only played in a few games before a season-ending knee injury. The Frogs are hoping that he returns to the same offensive levels he found at UTA where he averaged over 16 points and shot almost 40% from three in 2020-21. A healthy Wells is an offensive piece that the TCU second team needs but if Mike Miles is out as expected he will start again and be one of the safer plays on the slate at only $5.0K.

Pierre Brooks- Michigan State vs. Oregon ($3.9K DK)

Brooks was an elite scorer in high school and averaged over 40 PPG this summer in the Moneyball Pro-Am and the sophomore guard finally has his chance to show his ability in a Spartan uniform. With Malik Hall and Jaden Akins out, Brooks stepped into the starting lineup last night and in 33 minutes grabbed nine boards and scored five points (16.25 DKFP). With a shorthanded MSU rotation expect Brooks to smash value tonight.

Other value guards to consider:

Jordan Hawkins - Connecticut ($5.7K DK) 28+ DKFP last 3 games but $1.1K price bump since yesterday

Devin Askew- California ($5.5K DK) playing huge minutes- 24+ DKFP in every game- main cash play

Cameron Parker- Portland State ($5.4K DK)

Kobe Johnson- West Virginia ($3.6K DK)

Rivaldo Soares- Oregon ($5.0K DK)

CBB DFS Top Forwards

Zach Edey- Purdue @ Gonzaga ($9.6K DK)

We have an interesting big-man battle- Bulldogs All-American Drew Timme versus 7-foot-4, Purdue center Edey, the tallest player in Big Ten history. Edey, who has soft hands, is more of a shot-blocker than Timme and averages 13.7 rebounds. In last night's win he scored  24 points, grabbed 12 rebounds plus was automatic from the free throw line, making 10 of 10. He could have even scored more than his 41.5 DKFP due to six turnovers so even at $9.6K DK Edey is a core play and is still too cheap.

Kris Murray- Iowa @ Clemson ($7.3K DK)

Murray is coming off another big game scoring 30 points, knocking down four of his seven 3-point attempts and grabbing seven rebounds against Omaha. He has the potential to be one of the top scorers in the Big 10 and across the nation with a 28% usage rate and 23.8 PPG (39.6 DKFP). Clemson has won three straight games and if this game stays close we will see Murray play 30+ minutes and could end up as the top scorer of the slate. Near misprice here.

N'Faly Dante- Oregon @ Michigan State ($6.9K DK)

Oregon is another shorthanded team as they have been without four scholarship players including projected starters Jermaine Couisnard and Brennan Rigsby, and guard Keeshawn Barthelemy. They have relied heavily on center Dante (14.8 points, 7.4 rebounds), who has had three 38+ DKFP in three of his last five games. Dante had a tough one last night but at this price I will go right back to the well again.

Other forwards to consider:

Jalen Wilson- Kansas ($10.3K DK) Having a monster year- 24.3 PPG/10.3 RPG- the Edey GPP pivot

Brandon Miller- Alabama ($8.9K DK) This kid is special

Drew Timme- Gonzaga ($9.2K DK) GPP only due to the strength of the Zags roster

Patrick McCaffery- Iowa ($6.3K DK)

Simon Lukosius G/F - Butler ($6.4K DK) 25.8+ DKFP in all but one game

CBB DFS Top Forward Value

Sam Alajiki-California @ TCU ($4.4K DK)

Alakiji is a top value tonight at the forward position, especially if  Marsalis Roberson misses another game. He is a 6-foot-7 forward that can step outside and shoot the three and if Roberson sits, will provide enough minutes for a safe cash-value play. The Golden Bears have struggled with rebounding this year and with a physical team like TCU tonight Alajiki will be asked to assist on the boards.

Other value forwards to consider:

Charles Bediako- Alabama ($5.0K DK)

Monty Bowser- California ($3.3K DK)

Kel'el Ware- Oregon ($5.9K DK)

Nate Bittle- Oregon ($4.6K DK)

Grant Newell- California ($4.0K DK)

Jaxon Kohler- Michigan State ($3.8K DK) Season high 19 mins last night due to MSU shorthanded- same tonight
