College Basketball CBB DFS Top Plays November 17

CBB DFS Top Guards

Marcus Shaver Jr.BSUCHAR920040
As Boise State’s top playmaker this season, Shaver is filling up the stat sheet with 36 and 43 DK in the first two games. He has at least 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals in both contests and even recorded a double-double with boards last time out. Expect him to put up 30-40 DFS points yet again in a high-usage role tonight for cash lineups.
Frankie CollinsASUMICH800033.25
Collins is starting to get pricey, but he’s been worth it in a high-usage role for Arizona State. He’s put up at least 33 DK in three of four games so far with plenty of ancillary stats to go along with his active shot rate. Plus, the Michigan transfer will be facing his former team tonight if you’re interested in a little revenge game narrative. He’s expensive, but Collins has a proven cash floor at this point.
Sam GriffinTLSALY-IL700028.25
Griffin is back as Tulsa’s best player and we know one thing, he’ll be taking a ton of shots this season. He launched 21 shot attempts in the season opener to finish with 29 points and 35 DK. In the second game, Griffin shot it poorly (2-for-10 from the field) but was still firing away and put up 20 DK with his ancillary stats. The floor might not be as safe as other top guys on this slate, but the GPP upside is there to smash an affordable price tag compared to how good he is.
Craig Porter Jr.WICHRICH680031.88
With Wichita State losing a ton of production from last year, Porter has ascended into the alpha role. He scored 22 points with 41 DK in the season opener and then had 22 DK last game with 12 rebounds/assists despite only nine real points. The DFS floor is high for Porter as he leads the Shockers in usage rate and shot share this season as their clear top offensive option.
Jayden NunnVCUPITT640022.33
With Ace Baldwin out last night, Nunn stepped into a bigger role for VCU. He scored a team-high 13 points with five assists and four rebounds across 36 minutes while running the point in Baldwin’s place. Expect another high-usage game tonight with a bigger offensive role for Nunn with Baldwin sidelined.

Also Consider:

  • Sahvir Wheeler – Kentucky ($8800 DK) – GPP/Cash
  • Cason Wallace – Kentucky ($8700 DK) – GPP
  • Zyon Pullin – UC Riverside ($7300 DK) – Cash
  • Jett Howard – Michigan ($7100 DK) – GPP
  • Flynn Cameron – UC Riverside ($6700 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Guards

Braden NorrisLY-ILTLSA610023.25
Norris actually seems underpriced at $6100, considering he’s Loyola’s offensive catalyst now with so many players leaving in the offseason. The cash floor is pretty good for Norris. Last game, he had 16 DK despite scoring just two points on 1-for-5 shooting. The production spread out around rebounds, assists, and steals provide that floor and his scoring gives him 30+ DFS point upside – like in the season opener. This is a pace-boost matchup for Norris and he can easily outperform this pricing.
Kobe BufkinMICHASU520021.75
Bufkin gets a price jump after putting up 23 DK as a value for us last night, but he’s still too cheap. The sophomore now has 18, 24, and 23 DK over the first three games and is playing 30+ minutes per game while doing just enough across all stat categories to return value. We can roster him in cash and continue to feel good about it until he’s priced closer to 6k.
Greg ElliottPITTVCU470017.75
Elliott came through as a value for us last night with 12 points scored and 17 DK. He’s still cheap enough to consider because of his scoring role and starter-level playing time in Pitt’s rotation. However, just know that he’s a tad scoring-reliant and doesn’t offer much ancillary stat production for a safe floor.
Jason NelsonRICHWICH450024.17
Nelson is too cheap as Richmond’s starting point guard who’s put up 24, 28, and 19 DK in the first three games. He’s replaced Jacob Gilyard as the team’s PG and that was a very productive role last season. Nelson is seeing heavy usage and a high shot rate already, trailing only Burton among Richmond’s regulars. Sub-5k is a steal for the role that Nelson has and he could be popular in cash.
Jackson ThreadgillCHARBSU360022.12
Threadgill is way underpriced on this slate as a regular starter and scorer for Charlotte. He’s scored 14 and 16 points with 16 and 27 DK in the first two games, respectively. The junior really shouldn’t be priced below 5k, so let’s take advantage. Threadgill is an excellent salary-saver in all formats.

Also Consider:

  • CJ Fredrick – Kentucky ($5500 DK) – GPP
  • Lu'Cye Patterson – Charlotte ($5100 DK) – Cash
  • Brice Williams – Charlotte ($4800 DK) – GPP
  • Anthony Pritchard – Tulsa ($4600 DK) – GPP
  • Zeb Jackson – VCU ($4400 DK) – GPP
  • Joey Baker – Michigan ($3700 DK – GPP

CBB DFS Top Forwards

Oscar TshiebweUKMSU1010054.5
Tshiebwe returned for Kentucky on Tuesday and had one of those slate-breaking performances. He put up a whopping 54 DK with 22 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks. It’s a ridiculous stat line but one that Tshiebwe is capable of doing in any given game. He’s always in play for GPPs, but Hunter Dickinson may be more popular in cash tonight. Frankly, Kentucky will blow out South Carolina St and who knows how much Tshiebwe will play after just returning from injury. Even still, his talent can produce a 20-20 stat line against weak competition.
Hunter DickinsonMICHASU980039.83
Dickinson anchored our lineups last night with 33 DK in his regular dominant fashion, though it could’ve been a lot more since he only scored 11 points. We could see him get back to 20+ real points and 40 DK or more against a below-average Arizona State frontcourt that likely won’t have Marcus Bagley again. Don’t be surprised if Dickinson is more popular than Tshiebwe in cash, though you can roster both and feel pretty good about it.
Tyler BurtonRICHWICH880037.67
With Jacob Gilyard and Grant Golden gone from last year’s team, Burton is now Richmond’s top offensive option who can do a little bit of everything. He’ll be stuffing the stat sheet every game, which gives him a great DFS cash floor combined with plenty of GPP upside. Case in point: he scored 38 points with 53 DK last game on a whopping 20 shot attempts. The game prior, Burton had 26 DK with 11 points and nine rebounds despite only going 3-for-6 from the field. If 25 DFS points is the floor, then sign me up!
Bryant SelebangueTLSALY-IL620032.88
Selebangue seems to have taken on the Jeriah Horne role from last year’s Tulsa squad. He’s put up 15 points, nine boards, and 32 DK in both of the first two games this season while being Tulsa’s second-best player next to Sam Griffin. He’s actually really cheap considering the multiple 30+ DFS point performances already. It looks like he’ll be a nightly double-double threat.

Also Consider:

  • Ryan Kalkbrenner – Creighton ($9400 DK) – GPP
  • Isaiah Bigelow – Richmond ($7000 DK) – GPP
  • Aly Khalifa – Charlotte ($6300 DK) – Cash

CBB DFS Value Forwards

Naje SmithBSUCHAR530023.62
Smith comes off the bench for Boise State, but he’s actually playing starter-level minutes. The senior has logged 32 and 33 minutes with 20 and 26 DK, respectively, in the first two games. He’s playing a bigger role this season on the wing and in the frontcourt with Boise losing Emmanuel Akot and Abu Kigab from last year. Smith has also scored in double figures in both games thus far and is a great cash value tonight.
Tom WelchLY-ILTLSA500030.38
Welch is an excellent value for a starting big man who’s posted 40 and 20 DK in the first two games. After coming off the bench last year for Loyola Chicago, Welch is starting at center now and is a bigger part of the frontcourt rotation. He had 15 points and 15 rebounds in the season opener and looks like he’ll be plenty involved to return value at just 5k tonight.
Kenny PohtoWICHRICH420016.62
After backing up Morris Udeze last year, Pohto is now the starting center for Wichita State. He’s also playing a bigger offensive role with usage and shot rates trailing only Craig Porter for the team lead among regulars. Pohto had 13 points and 20 DK across 28 minutes in Wichita’s only competitive game thus far. The 6-foot-11 big man doesn’t have to do much to return value at this cheap price.

Also Consider:

  • Saint Thomas – Loyola Chicago ($4900 DK) – Cash
  • Daimion Collins – Kentucky ($4200 DK) – GPP
  • Igor Milicic – Charlotte ($3800 DK) – GPP
