CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Frankie CollinsASUVCU770033.33
First off, the high-priced guards aren’t as strong tonight as in previous CBB slates. Even so, Collins is a solid cash play among the top-tier. The Michigan transfer is now the high-usage point guard for Arizona State as the offense is revolving around him – especially if Marcus Bagley sits out tonight. Collins has 37, 22, and 39 DK in the first three games with 20+ points scored in two of those. We know he’ll get the shot attempts and rack up enough ancillary stats to be good for cash lineups.
Adrian Baldwin Jr.VCUASU720033.88
Baldwin is the offensive catalyst for VCU, running the point and filling up the stat sheet in the process. He put up 37 and 30 DK in the first two games with a ton of assists and steals in both. His DFS floor is higher than most because he’s not reliant on real points/scoring to be productive. This is a slight pace-boost for VCU and it should benefit Baldwin in all areas as a solid cash guard.
Ricky Council IVARKSDSU640033.38
Council is directly benefiting from Nick Smith being out for Arkansas right now. The Wichita State transfer is putting up big numbers and playing heavy minutes with Smith sidelined. Council has 32 and 34 DK in the first two games with 22 and 15 points scored, respectively. He’s seen double-digit shot attempts while logging 35+ minutes in both contests. Anthony Black and Devonte Davis are also good plays tonight in a high-scoring matchup, but Council is a tad cheaper for similar or better DFS production.
Jett HowardMICHPITT630031.12
Outside of Hunter Dickinson, the freshman Howard has been Michigan’s best source of offense this season in a playmaking role on the wing. He put up 25 and 37 DK in the first two games and exploded for 21 points scored in the season opener. Howard’s three-point shooting potential gives him plenty of GPP upside tonight. He’s pretty affordable for a guy that can go for 30+ DFS points as Michigan’s second-best player right now.
David DeJuliusCINCYNORKY620033.58
DeJulius is really cheap compared to how good he’s been this season. He has at least 32 DK and 18 points scored in all three games thus far while leading Cincy in usage rate and shot percentage. That was the case last season and he’s still the engine of the Bearcats’ offense even with Landers Nolley, Jeremiah Davenport, and others around him. DeJulius makes for a great cash play at this price and could end up being chalky.

Also Consider:

  • Marcus Carr – Texas ($7500 DK) – GPP
  • Devonte Davis – Arkansas ($7000 DK) – Cash
  • Julian Strawther – Gonzaga ($6900 DK) – GPP
  • Landers Nolley – Cincinnati ($6800 DK) – Cash/GPP
  • Jamarius Burton – Pitt ($6100 DK) – Cash/GPP

CBB DFS Value Guards

Payton SandfortIOWASHU490028.38
Sandfort was a role player last year for Iowa but he’s now stepped into a starting spot with Jordan Bohannon, Keegan Murray, and Joe Toussaint all gone. He has a ton of potential to develop into a breakout player for Iowa’s high-scoring attack in this increased role. Sandfort is 6-foot-7 and can get hot from three-point range when given the opportunity. He’s put up 25 and 31 DK with 13 and 17 points scored, respectively, in the two games so far. We’ll see how the minutes shake out with Iowa now playing in a closer game instead of a blowout, but Sandfort should see plenty of playing time on the wing and as a bigger backcourt player.
Nolan HickmanGONZUT430017.5
Hickman was a good value for us last week when he was $3700, and he’s still a solid salary-saver at sub-5k. The sophomore is now playing a bigger role in Gonzaga’s backcourt with Andrew Nembhard gone and he’s a popular breakout candidate in college basketball this season. He’s put up 16 and 19 DK in the two games so far, but he’s doing just enough in every stat category to be DFS-relevant. It’s encouraging to see him take double-digit shots and be more involved offensively last game against Michigan State.
Kobe BufkinMICHPITT420021.12
Bufkin is simply too cheap with 18 and 24 DK in the first two games and production across all stat categories. The sophomore has moved into a starting guard role for Michigan this season after playing off the bench last year behind Devante’ Jones and Eli Brooks. He really shouldn’t be priced below 5k at this point and should stuff the stat sheet plenty to be a cash value tonight.
Greg ElliottPITTMICH410017.88
The Marquette transfer is too cheap as he’s starting for Pitt and put up 20 and 15 DK the first two games with double-digit points scored in both. Elliott doesn’t offer much in ancillary stats, but the senior logged a team-high 39 minutes last time out and is clearly entrenched in Pitt’s rotation that features a ton of changeover from last year. He’s a nice salary-saver in cash or GPP, especially if John Hugley remains out tonight.
Arterio MorrisUTGONZ370012.88
Morris is an interesting upside GPP play on this slate at sub-4k. The freshman guard has a ton of talent, but he’s playing off the bench behind Marcus Carr and Tyrese Hunter in Texas’ rotation. Still, the skill level is evident and it may be only a matter of time until Morris is playing bigger minutes and more involved on offense. He went for 21 DK last game with an uptick in shot attempts and overall role. That upside for 20+ DFS points is there tonight in a pace-boost matchup against Gonzaga.

Also Consider:

  • Zeke Mayo – South Dakota State ($5700 DK) – Cash
  • Devan Cambridge – Arizona State ($5400 DK) – GPP
  • Si'Jabari Rice – Texas ($5200 DK) – Cash
  • Jamir Harris – Seton Hall ($4600 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Top Forwards

Drew TimmeGONZUT1050041.38
Not much analysis needed for one of the best players in college basketball. Even as the most expensive player on the slate, Timme is well worth it as the centerpiece of Gonzaga’s offense. He’s put up 34 and 48 DK in the two games so far with 22 points scored in both. This is actually a tough matchup on the road at Texas, but Timme’s heavy usage and elite floor/ceiling combo makes it tough to fade in cash no matter the opponent or price.
Hunter DickinsonMICHPITT930043.12
Like Timme, there isn’t much else to say about Dickinson other than he’ll definitely be popular in cash games and should always be considered in all formats if Michigan is on the slate. He’ll probably be more chalky than Timme because of the price differential, but there’s a way to get both into cash lineups. Dickinson has 47 and 39 DK his two games thus far and Pitt’s frontcourt won’t do much to slow him down tonight.
Chris BrandonNORKYCINCY690034.62
There really aren’t many high-priced forwards worth playing in cash outside of Timme and Dickinson. One to consider in GPP lineups is Brandon, the center for Northern Kentucky. He’s put up 31 and 37 DK in his two games and can rack up rebounds tonight against a smaller Cincinnati lineup. Even though his team is an underdog, Brandon racked up 17 boards, three blocks, and 31 DK in a 22-point loss to Kent State earlier this season despite scoring just six points on the offensive end. He’ll surely be overlooked on this slate but there’s upside.
Kris MurrayIOWASHU630031.5
With his twin brother Keegan gone, Kris Murray has stepped into a bigger role for Iowa this season. He’s leading the team in usage rate (26%) and has put up 27 and 36 DK with 14 and 22 points scored, respectively, in two games thus far. In Iowa’s uptempo attack, Murray’s DFS floor is high with his new starting role and increased usage now that Keegan is off to the NBA. Even in a pace-down matchup on the road at Seton Hall, Murray should be popular in cash at an affordable price point.

Also Consider:

  • Timmy Allen – Texas ($8100 DK) – GPP
  • Tyrese Samuel – Seton Hall ($7600 DK) – GPP
  • Trezon Brazile – Arkansas ($6600 DK) – GPP
  • Patrick McCaffery – Iowa ($6000 DK) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Matt DentlingerSDSUARK550028.83
Dentlinger was a value for us last week at $4500 and he’s still too cheap at sub 6k. The South Dakota State big man has 28, 31, and 27 DK in the three games so far and all came in close matchups. He’s averaging 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and two blocks per game and shouldn’t be priced this low. Even in a tough matchup against Arkansas, Dentlinger’s floor is higher than you’d think with this being a high-scoring contest and the center being plenty involved on both ends.
Brandon Johns Jr.VCUASU540021.62
The Michigan transfer is now starting in the VCU frontcourt and doing plenty to be DFS-relevant. Johns has 23 and 19 DK in the first two games with double-digit points scored in both. We saw him be a solid value at times in previous years at Michigan when getting spot starts, and he’s a solid value now that he’s entrenched as a starter on a new squad. Tonight’s pace-boost matchup could result in more rebounding opportunities as well.
Dylan DisuUTGONZ490017
Texas has a few values worth considering in this pace-boost matchup against Gonzaga. We touched on Morris above, but all of Disu, Rice, and Mitchell can return value at their affordable price tags. As for Disu, he’s now starting for Texas after playing in a reserve role and dealing with injury last season. The former Vandy transfer has been decent thus far with 16 and 17 DK in the two games, but he should log bigger minutes and be more involved on both ends in a closer matchup here. Texas’ first two games were blowouts and Disu wasn’t needed as much.
Anton WatsonGONZUT480020.75
Watson gets a price decrease after only putting up 11 DK last game, but he really shouldn’t be priced below 5k after one subpar outing. Watson is still a guy that fills up the stat sheet in multiple ways for a decent floor despite not being heavily involved on offense. He can always put up 20-30 DFS points with his do-everything role in the Gonzaga frontcourt and should be on the court more than last game because Texas has tons of length in the frontcourt.
Viktor LakhinCINCYNORKY440025.58
The sophomore center hasn’t been on the floor a ton this season, but he’s extremely productive when he is. Lahkin starts at center for Cincinnati, but he’s only playing 20 minutes per game or so. Still, he’s produced 20, 35 and 20 DK in the first three games while averaging well more than a fantasy point per minute. He’s a handful down low and on the boards, which could keep him on the court more often tonight against Chris Brandon of Northern Kentucky.

Also Consider:

  • Dre Davis – Seton Hall ($5400 DK) – GPP
  • Dillon Mitchell – Texas ($5200 DK) – GPP
  • Makhi Mitchell – Arkansas ($5000 DK) – Cash
  • William Kyle – South Dakota State ($3900 DK) – GPP
