College Basketball CBB DFS Top Plays December 10th
CBB DFS Top Guards
Zhuric Phelps- SMU vs. TCU ($7.7K)
What a progression we have seen from sophomore point guard Phelps. He leads the Mustangs in points (19.6), assists (2.7) and steals (1.8). He is third in the AAC in scoring, two spots below former SMU star guard Kendric Davis, who's now at Memphis. With a 32.6% usage (12th in the nation) and 33.7% shot (19th in the nation) rate we have a star in the making here and he is still a top play even with a low 135.5 game total
Kenan Blackshear- Nevada vs. BYU ($7.1K)
Blackshear is coming off a career-high 22 points in a big Quad 2 win over Pepperdine. It was a big victory over Nevada after a loss to LMU last Saturday and they will be decent underdogs today at Oregon. Still, I love the price here on the Wolf pack leader who comes into the game with a 27% usage rate and 37.1% assist rate- good for 15th in the entire nation. Besides the LMU dud (13 DKFP) Blackshear has put up 22+ DraftKings fantasy points in every game this season.
Ryan Nembhard- Creighton vs. BYU ($6.8K)
Over his last five games Nembhard is carrying a 25.2% usage rate while averaging 19.2 points and 35 minutes. He has put up 30+ DraftKings fantasy points in three of his last four while being on the court for nearly the entire game. Tonight's matchup with BYU s the second-highest scoring total of the evening and a player like Nembhard that brings 30.4% assist rate to the table is almost certain to put up a nice floor for fantasy points.
Other Top Guards
Top point per $ Plays:
- Baylor Scheierman- Creighton ($8.8K) GPP-only due to high priced forwards ; 31.2 DR% (5th in nation)
- Xavier Johnson- Indiana ($7.4K) 24% usage with a 26% assist rate- GPP due to volatility
- Trey Alexander- Creighton ($6.2K) Slowed down last 2 games but 4 straight 20+ DKFP before that
- Mike Miles- TCU ($7.5K) 28% usage/25.2% shot rate GPP/Cash
- Will Richardson- Oregon (7.8K) 24% usage with a 35.2% assist rate
CBB DFS Value Guards
Brennan Rigsby- Oregon vs. Nevada ($4.0K)
With Keeshawn Barthelemy and Jermaine Couisnard both still out, the return of Rigsby has been huge for Oregon. The JUCO transfer missed the first seven games due to a high ankle sprain but came out of the gates strong with two straight double digit DraftKings point games and even played 31 minutes last game against UCLA. He averaged 11.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists at Northwest Florida State College last season and is an immediate plus due to his off-the-ball shooting.
Top point per $ plays
- Zach Nutall- SMU ($5.5K) Would be a lock if his price was in the mid-4K range like it was the last couple of weeks. Still has a floor of 20 DKFP
- Spencer Johnson- BYU ($5.1K) Clutch shooter may return today from injury (check discord)
- Sheldon Edwards- Loyala Chicago ($4.5K) 24% usage/25% shot rate when on floor
- Rivaldo Soares- Oregon ($5.7K) GPP-only but 25+ DKFP in 2 of last 3
- Brevin Galloway- Clemson ($5.0K) 20+ DKFP in 2 of last 3
- Trey Galloway- Indiana ($4.6K) Coming off a 20 pt (28 DKFP) game against Nebraska.
CBB DFS Top Forwards
Oumar Ballo- Arizona @ Indiana ($8.6K DK)
Forward pay up is loaded tonight starting with Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis at $10.2K and Azuolas Tubelis ($8.7K), Ryan Kalkbrenner ($8.0K) and Ballo. Taking pricing into consideration Ballo is the top overall play here. The Gonzaga transfer is a starter in the most skilled frontcourt in college basketball right now. He had an awesome Maui Invitational and his 30-point, and 13-rebound performance against Creighton in the championship was the best performance of the season so far. He followed that up with 35+ DraftKings point games against Utah and Cal in what has become the breakout season for the big guy. With a 35.9% rebound rate and 8.2 fouls drawn per game (5th in the nation) Ballo has an edge in the battle of the big men tonight against TJD and Indiana.
PJ Hall- Clemson @ Loyola-Chicago ($6.1K DK)
When healthy Hall is arguably one of the top five players in the ACC. He is slowly gaining his confidence back after the surgeries and it was very evident in his last two games against Wake Forest and Towson State that he is leaving the ground more. Hall now has three straight 30+ DraftKings point games with usage and shot rates both over 30%. Loyola-Chicago's defense is no pushover but Hall is a star and we could be seeing his last game in this price range.
Other Top Forwards:
Top point per $ plays
- Trayce Jackson-Davis- Indiana ($9.9K DK) Top overall play of the slate but will be awful hard to get up to that price with lack of value in Cash
- Ryan Kalkbrenner- Creighton ($8.0K) 11.5% OR and 31.4 DKFP
- Azuolas Tubelis- Arizona ($8.7K) Ned a piece of this game- at least one of Tubelis or Ballo or both. Tubelis 30% usage
- N'Faly Dante- Oregon ($6.7K)
- Fousseyni Traore- BYU ($6.9K) Sneaky mid-range play - 34% combined rebound rate
- Gideon George- BYU ($6.3K) 22.6% usage (team leader) and 3 of last 4 over 24DKFP
CBB DFS Value Forwards
Race Thompson- Indiana vs. Arizona ($5.7K DK)
We are long over due for a big game from Thompson. Yes he had a great game against Little Rock in the absence of Trayce Jackson-Davis, but we are talking big game against big time team here. National stage type stuff. Of course Thompson gives up size to Arizona’s big men but the Hoosiers need him and his 25.7% combined rebound rate tonight. He has three 20+ DraftKings fantasy point games sandwiched around two duds but call this a gut feeling - Race has a game tonight.
Miller Kopp- Indiana vs. Arizona ($4.9K)
Kopp is a veteran of the college wars and last season, his first with the Hoosiers, he was among IU's most criticized players. This season, though, he is shooting 48.7% from the three and scoring in all kinds of different ways. He is even scoring off the dribble instead of getting his looks stationary. With a 26 DraftKings fantasy point average in his last two games (21 and 13 points) Kopp has been playing nearly every minute and should get a boost tonight in a 157 point game total.
Other Value Forwards:
Top point per $ plays
- Tom Welch- Loyola-Chicago ($5.6K) 22+ DKFP 3 of last 4; 9.0% OR
- Saint Thomas- Loyola-Chicago ($4.8K) Double digit DKFP 2 of last 3; 19.2% DR
- Jordan Geronimo- Indiana ($4.0K)
