College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 3/6

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Khalil ShabazzSFOGONZ900033.61
Shabazz was excellent in Saturday’s win over Santa Clara with 38 points and 64 DK. He’s been the guy all season for San Francisco in a high-usage role and that’ll continue tonight in an uptempo, high-scoring matchup with Gonzaga. He scored 25 points with 42 DK vs the Zags a month ago and is averaging a strong 23 PPG and 40 DK over the past 10 games. You can roll Shabazz out in cash or GPP lineups and feel pretty good about it tonight.
Logan JohnsonSTMRYBYU820029.74
Johnson ended the regular season hot with 40+ DK and 27+ points scored in three straight and five of the last six games. The senior guard has been one of Saint Mary’s top scorers all season, but he’s taken on a bigger alpha role in the past month. Johnson had 27 points with 42 DK vs BYU in a recent game. Expect him to be active offensively again tonight in a pace-boost for the Gaels. He’s firmly in play in all formats.
Dwayne CohillYSUNORKY710032.37
Cohill is actually underpriced for his consistent DFS production as a high-usage point guard for Youngstown State. The $7100 DK price is especially affordable compared to other top guards on this slate. Cohill is averaging 18.6 PPG and 33 DK over the past 10 games and is filling up the stat sheet in multiple ways every game. We should bank on 30 DK or so for a strong cash floor with Y-St leaning on Cohill in this Horizon League tourney game.
Sam VinsonNORKYYSU690026.04
Since there are better point-per-dollar guards in the top end tonight, Vinson is one who may go overlooked. Still, he has the upside for 30+ DK at his best and he’s averaging a solid 27 DK over the past 10 games. Vinson isn’t the top guy for Northern Kentucky, that’s Marques Warrick, but he’s still stuffing the stat sheet on a regular basis. We saw him put up 30 and 32 DK vs Youngstown State earlier this season in two different matchups, so that bodes well for his performance tonight.
BJ FreemanUW-MICLE600030.55
Freeman might end up being the chalkiest play of the slate because he’s sorely mispriced at just 6k flat on DK. The sophomore wing is Milwaukee’s offensive catalyst with a 30% usage rate and 32% shot share this season. He’s averaging 20 PPG and a stat-stuffing 37 DK over the past 10 games for a team that plays at a top-20 pace in the country. Freeman just had 31 points and 46 DK vs Cleveland St two games ago and went for 24 points and 33 DK in this matchup earlier this season.

Also Consider:

  • Julian Strawther – Gonzaga (GPP)
  • Tyrell Roberts – San Francisco (Cash/GPP)
  • Deshon Parker – Cleveland State (GPP)

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Rasir BoltonGONZSFO550019.02
The Gonzaga guards, besides Julian Strawther, are all pretty good value plays tonight in the mid-5k range and below. You can go with Nolan Hickman and Malachi Smith, but Bolton has a bit more upside and has a good track record vs San Fran this season. He had 30+ DK and 20+ points scored in both matchups vs the Dons. It’s impossible to ignore those scoring outbursts at his cheap price tonight in a high-scoring contest.
Brandon RushYSUNORKY520022.69
Rush could be a popular value play tonight based on his recent production at an affordable price. He’s averaging 13.8 PPG and 21 DK over the past 10 games and went for 18 points and 28 DK vs Northern Kentucky earlier this season. There are plenty of values tonight, but Rush should not go overlooked – especially with some three-point upside.
Kentrell PullianUW-MICLE420021.41
A lot of the Milwaukee players are underpriced on this slate and Pullian is one of them in the low-4k range. The sophomore is averaging 20 DK over the past 10 games and he’s shown the upside for 25-30 DK at his best when he’s hitting threes. In one of the higher-total games of the short slate, Pullian is a solid salary-saver who can definitely return value. He had 15 and 18 DK in two matchups vs Cleveland St this season.
Elijah JamisonUW-MICLE390014.32
While Pullian is a good value from Milwaukee tonight, so is Jamison at an even cheaper price tag. He’s scored in double figures with 20+ DK in four of the last five games. This recent game log is really attractive, but temper expectations because the freshman has been very up-and-down this season – including two bad games vs Cleveland St. At sub-4k, though, he’s worth a GPP dart.
Yahel HillCLEUW-MI350010.73
Hill is really cheap for a guy that has 15+ DK in five straight games while averaging 11.4 PPG and 18 DK and over this span. The senior comes off the bench for Cleveland St, but he’s been logging starter-level minutes in the past month. Hill started at the beginning of the season and it seems his veteran experience is being leaned on now in the playoffs. At sub-4k, he’s a bargain dart in cash or GPP with a pace boost matchup vs Milwaukee.

Also Consider:

  • Marcus Williams – San Francisco (Cash/GPP)
  • Malachi Smith – Gonzaga (GPP)
  • Justin Thomas – Milwaukee (GPP)

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Drew TimmeGONZSFO1010037.47
If Gonzaga is on the slate, then Drew Timme is in play for GPPs per usual. He’s a bit too expensive to roster in cash, but the 50-60 DK upside is always there for the Gonzaga center at his best. On this slate, there are other top guards and forwards that will be better and more popular plays at slightly cheaper prices – so Timme could actually be a great contrarian option for the upside that he smashes.
Tristan EnarunaCLEUW-MI810029.96
Enaruna would be a stud DFS play anyway, but a huge pace-boost vs Milwaukee puts him in prime position to be the slate’s top scorer. The former Kansas and Iowa State transfer is the clear top playmaker at Cleveland State and he’s been dominating the Horizon League all season. Enaruna is averaging a strong 18 PPG and 35 DK over the past 10 games and has 45+ DK in three of the past five contests. That includes a 24-point double-double vs Milwaukee two games ago. It’ll be tough to fade him in cash tonight.
Adrian NelsonYSUNORKY800031.27
The senior big man is a consistent producer every game for Youngstown State and is frimly in play for cash lineups tonight. Nelson is averaging 17.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 37 DK over the past 10 games and he just went for 20 points and 38 DK in the first Horizon League tourney game. Nelson was good against Northern Kentucky twice this season, including his 17 points, 12 boards, and 42 DK a month ago.
Anton WatsonGONZSFO790026.4
It seems crazy to say, but Watson is actually a better point-per-dollar play than Drew Timme right now. He’s averaging 29 DK over the past 10 games while Timme is putting up 33 DK per game in the same span – but Watson costs way less. The power forward is filling up the stat sheet in every category, especially defensively with steals and blocks, and that usually keeps his floor pretty high. Watson went for 40 DK and a double-double vs San Francisco a month ago.

Also Consider:

  • Malek Green – Youngstown State (GPP)
  • Fousseyni Traore – BYU (Cash)
  • Mitchell Saxen – Saint Mary's (GPP)
  • Chris Brandon – Northern Kentucky (GPP)

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Tae WilliamsCLEUW-MI580024.6
Two games ago, Williams went off for a 21-point double-double and 40 DK vs Milwaukee to end the regular season. Plus, the wing had a double-double and 35 DK in this matchup earlier this season. Those two performances are tough to ignore at just $5800 and so much GPP upside. The game logs tell us that Williams can be volatile and tough to fully trust, but the ceiling is massive at his best and Cleveland St gets a pace boost.
Ahmad RandUW-MICLE520020.16
How about another value from Milwaukee? Rand is averaging 21 DK over the past 10 games, including 29+ DK in four of the last seven contests. The senior went for a double-double and 37 DK vs Cleveland St two games ago and had 25 DK in this matchup earlier this season. That’s a good track record with promising recent production at a very affordable price point.
Josh KunenSFOGONZ440012.42
After being just a role player for San Francisco this season, Kunen has woken up in the WCC Tournament. The junior power forward has put up 31 and 21 DK in the past two games while going 6-for-10 from three-point range and scoring in double figures both times. These are definitely better performances than we regularly see from Kunen, but he’s worth a GPP dart throw in a high-scoring contest tonight if he can keep it going.

Also Consider:

  • Jalen Johnson – Milwaukee (GPP)
  • Saba Gigiberia – San Francisco (GPP)
