CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Jalen PickettPSUMSU870040.09
Pickett is the definition of a stat-suffer who’s about as safe as it gets for cash lineups. He’s averaging 16.1 points, 7.6 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game this season with at least 34 DK in all but one contest (which was a blowout win at the beginning of the year). In this conference matchup with Michigan State, bank on Pickett anchoring your cash games with his do-everything role for Penn State.
Umoja GibsonDPUSTJN850037.03
Gibson has been lighting it up for DePaul in his high-usage and heavy shot volume role running the point. He’s averaging 17.4 points, 6.9 assists, and 37 DK per game while being a safe cash option all year. Now he gets a major pace-boost matchup against St. John’s, who plays at the 2nd-fastest tempo in the country. Gibson should be a strong cash play with plenty of GPP upside tonight.
Andre CurbeloSTJNDPU760026.72
The DePaul-St. John’s matchup is clearly one to target tonight with it being the highest-scoring game on a slate with tons of low totals. On the St. John’s side, we have Andrew Curbelo, David Jones, and Posh Alexander all being viable cash or GPP plays. Curbelo has 40 DK upside when he’s being assertive offensively, like when he scored 23 points with 43 DK vs. Syracuse earlier this season. He gets the slight nod over Alexander since the latter hasn't really paid off his price tag much.
Zhuric PhelpsSMUASU730033.47
Phelps is at a pretty affordable price point considering his high usage and consistent DFS production this season. The SMU point guard is averaging 19.6 PPG with at least 39 DK in three of the least four games. He has a 32% usage rate and 33% shot share, which are top-25 marks in the country so far. Even against a tough Arizona State defense, Phelps will be perfectly fine in cash at home tonight.
Jamarius BurtonPITTVAND700029.53
Burton has been a solid DFS play whenever Pitt has been on the slate lately. He’s averaging 15.8 PPG this season, has at least 26 DK in five straight games, and is consistently taking double-digit shot attempts as one of Pitt’s top offensive playmakers. Burton is coming off a 24-points, 38 DK performance last time out vs. NC State. He may go overlooked tonight, but Burton is a great option in all formats in a more affordable range than other top guards.

Also Consider:

  • Jordan Dingle – Penn ($8200) – Cash
  • Cam Holden – Towson ($7900) – GPP
  • Andre Jackson Jr. – UConn ($6200) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Guards

Nike SibandePITTVAND510016.94
Sibande comes off the bench for Pitt, but he’s still plenty involved offensively while logging 25 minutes per game or so. He’s scored in double figures in four of the last five games with 25+ DK in three of those contests. This price tag is pretty affordable for the potential 5x return. Greg Elliott ($5400) is also a good value from Pitt.
Pierre BrooksMSUPSU470013.25
Brooks has started the last five games now with Malik Hall sidelined. That increase in playing time and role has raised his DFS floor and ceiling to a higher level than this sub-5k price tag indicates. Brooks has been a little inconsistent to trust for cash, but the GPP potential for a 5x return or better is there. His 40% three-point shooting will be needed on the road here vs. Penn State.
Zach NutallSMUASU440022.66
Nutall is really underpriced on this slate at sub-5k. He’s not only a regular starter playing 30+ minutes for SMU, but the senior also has 22 DK or more in five of the last seven games. That includes a 21-point, 34 DK outburst last time out. Arizona State presents a tougher matchup, but Nutall should not be priced below 5k at this point.
Ezra ManjonVANDPITT420019.09
Both Ezra Manjon and Tyrin Lawrence ($4100) are simply too cheap on this slate and both should be heavily considered in cash or GPP. We’re talking about two regular starters for Vandy playing 30 minutes or so per game and putting up 20 DK or so on a nightly basis. Yet, both are priced well below 5k and can easily 5x their salaries tonight. Manjon gets the slight nod if choosing between them because his floor is a tad higher while running the point.
Jalen TerryDPUSTJN36009.97
Terry has started the last two games for DePaul and he’s put up 14 and 24 DK with 35 minutes played in both. He’s benefiting from more playing time and an increased role with Yor Anei and Nick Ongenda out, which has forced DePaul into small-ball rotations and Terry starting in the backcourt now. The sub-4k price tag is too cheap for the potential 7x return or better in a pace-boost matchup here.
Kowacie ReevesUFUCONN350015.96
After recently getting demoted to the bench, Reeves has moved back into Florida’s starting lineup the last two games with Kyle Lofton out. He’s responded with 19 and 12 points scored with 30 and 17 DK, respectively, while seeing more playing time in Lofton’s absence. Lofton will be a game-time decision tonight, but Reeves is a great value at this cheap price tag if he’s starting again.

Also Consider:

  • Greg Elliott – Pittsburgh ($5400) – GPP
  • Camren Wynter – Penn State ($5200) – GPP
  • Tyrin Lawrence – Vanderbilt ($4100) – Cash
  • Jaden Akins – Michigan State ($3600) – GPP
  • Rafael Pinzon – St. John's ($3300) – GPP

Adama SanogoUCONNUF840032.5
The big man battle between Sanogo and Castleton should be a great watch tonight. It’s tough to tell which will have the upper hand in DFS and in real-life, making both high-upside GPP options at their price tags. If choosing between them, Sanogo gets the slight nod because he’s cheaper and has been more consistent this season. The UConn center has at least 20 points scored and 31 DK in four of the last six games with some of those performances coming against top competition.
Justyn MuttsVTDAY830035.91
Mutts has been worth his expensive price tags all season. He’s averaging 14.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in a stat-stuffing role that keeps his DFS totals high. Mutts has at least 33 DK in five straight games and is playing heavy minutes in Virginia Tech’s tight rotation. He’ll have a tough matchup with Dayton’s DaRon Holmes and Toumani Camara in the paint tonight, but that shouldn’t slow him down too much to let us down in cash.
Javan JohnsonDPUSTJN810032.19
Johnson is at a season-high price tag now, but he’s still a great play in this pace-boost and high-scoring matchup with St. John’s. He’s coming off back-to-back games with at least 27 points scored and 46 DK – and the potential for a third straight performance like that is real. The DePaul offense centers around him and Umoja Gibson, so rostering both against the Johnnies isn’t a bad idea. Johnson is better suited for GPPs, though, because we have seen some floor games from him.
Joel SorianoSTJNDPU770033.58
Soriano has been a rebounding machine this season and it regularly keeps his DFS floor pretty high compared to other bigs. The St. John’s center is averaging 12.3 rebounds per game with one of the best rebounding rates in the country. We can pencil him in for another double-double and 30 DK or so in this high-scoring matchup. Plus, Soriano should feast on the boards against an undersized DePaul lineup that’s without its two centers.

Also Consider:

  • Colin Castleton – Florida ($9400) – GPP
  • Blake Hinson – Pittsburgh ($8200) – Cash
  • Hunter Tyson – Clemson ($7900) – Cash
  • David Jones – St. John's ($7600) – GPP

Cam WhitmoreVUPENN620016.25
If you’re looking for a high-upside GPP play in the 6k range, Whitmore is very intriguing tonight. The five-star freshman just made his season debut on Saturday and he finished with seven points, three rebounds, three steals and 16 DK in 20 minutes. We should eventually see Whitmore move into the starting rotation and be a top playmaker for Villanova. When that happens, he’ll surely outperform this price tag. Maybe it happens against an easier Penn opponent tonight?
PJ HallCLEMTOWS590018.91
For whatever reason, DK continues to underprice Hall despite him being back in Clemson’s starting lineup the last two games and putting up big numbers. The big man has 22 and 21 points scored in the past two outings with 30 and 34 DK, respectively. Yet, Hall is still priced below 6k. Expect him to be chalky in cash lineups.
Mustapha AmzilDAYVT540019.64
Amzil has started the last two games with Malachi Smith and Kobe Elvis out. He’s scored in double figures both times with 22 and 31 DK in those contests. In his new starting role while logging 30-35 minutes per game, Amzil is a great cash play and his size/rebounding ability is even more important tonight against Virginia Tech. You can also look at RJ Blakney as a value from Dayton with Smith/Elvis out.
Alex FudgeUFUCONN440017.17
Fudge had been coming off the bench for Florida, but he replaced CJ Felder in the starting lineup last game. In a season-high 27 minutes, Fudge put up 11 points, eight rebounds, and 20 DK. That’s his third straight with at least 20 DK and it’s clear he’s earning more playing time and a bigger role in the frontcourt in Florida’s rotation now. He’s a tad too cheap at sub-5k, even against a tough UConn defense.

Also Consider:

  • Samuell Williamson – SMU ($6100) – Cash
  • Mady Sissoko – Michigan State ($5500) – Cash/GPP
  • RJ Blakney – Dayton ($5400) – GPP
