Terrence Shannon Jr.ILUT850036.53
Facing Texas’ defense is definitely a tough matchup, but Shannon will have enough shot volume, offensive usage, and rebounding chances to be a DFS stud like usual. In Illinois’ four games against power conference opponents, Shannon has put up 34+ DK in three of those – including each of the last two games vs. Maryland and Syracuse. He’s clearly the Illini’s alpha playmaker and will be leaned on in this marquee matchup.
Marcus CarrUTIL820029.33
The Texas offense continues to center around Carr and Tyrese Hunter with both being solid plays on this slate. Carr gets the slight nod because he’s been more consistent in a high-usage role with a ton of shot volume, like his 20 attempts last game vs. Creighton. Carr has at least 28 DK in four straight games while averaging 17.5 PPG in that span. He’s a safe cash anchor on this slate and Hunter is better suited for GPPs.
Reece BeekmanUVJMU750027.68
Beekman is a tad expensive, but he should be worth it tonight in a major pace-boost against JMU. The Dukes run at the 16th-fastest tempo in the country while Virginia is at 361. That’s a huge step up in pace and it will benefit Beekman as he runs the offense and fills up the stat sheet in a tight UVA rotation. Beekman has at least 26 DK in five of seven games and should be good for 30 DK or so tonight.
Chuck HarrisBUTLEYALE620026.97
Rostering Butler players in DFS CBB has been a good strategy this season because the Bulldogs play a very tight rotation where the starters log heavy minutes with usually consistent DFS production. Unfortunately, they’re all a bit priced up on this slate. Harris, though, is worth a look because he’s in the more affordable range and has 30-40 DK potential at his best.

Also Consider:

  • Jahmir Young – Maryland ($8000) – GPP
  • Tyrese Hunter – Texas ($7400) – Cash/GPP
  • Eric Hunter Jr. – Butler ($6000) – Cash/GPP
  • Jeremy Roach – Duke ($5800) – GPP

Connor EssegianWISCUMD470016.69
Ever since Wisconsin played in Maui a couple of weeks ago, Essegian has been playing a much bigger role in the Badgers’ rotation with success to go with it. The freshman has scored in double figures in five straight games with 20+ DK in three of those. He’s still coming off the bench, but Essegian is logging 25 minutes per game or so and seeing plenty of offensive usage and shot volume when on the court. He’s a great bargain at sub-5k.
Bryce ThompsonOKSTSHSU450017.62
Thompson is weirdly mispriced on this slate. The junior is coming off a bad game, so DK has priced him down significantly from his $6100 tag last time out. This is an overreaction at sub-5k, though. Thompson leads Oklahoma State in shot share (27%) and has the upside for double-digit points scored and 20+ DK in any game. He could end up being popular because of the cheap price.
Sir'Jabari RiceUTIL430015.5
DraftKings has really messed up with Rice lately. First off, you’ll notice his game logs from this season have been deleted outside of last contest. Since he “only” put up 15 DK at $6000 on that slate, his price has dropped significantly tonight. In reality, Rice should be priced above 5k. He’s scored in double figures in four of six games this season while seeing 25 minutes or so per outing in a key backup guard role with Texas. He can easily 5x his price tag tonight and will fill up the stat sheet for cash.
Caleb AsberryOKSTSHSU400016.75
Asberry was a good value when he was $4300 and he’s somehow gone down in price despite putting up 18 DK last game. The grad transfer from Texas State has carved out a solidified backup guard role for Oklahoma State and he should not be priced below 5k at this point. He can do just enough in each stat category to return value in cash and potentially give you 5x or more.
Tyrese ProctorDUKEIOWA380017.15
How about another mispricing from DK? Proctor is a regular starter for Duke and he usually puts up 15-20 DK in that role. In a pace-boost and high-scoring matchup tonight vs. Iowa, the potential for a 6x return is there for Proctor. The freshman recently scored 16 points and 26 DK vs. Purdue and then had 12 points and 18 DK vs. Ohio State. He makes for a great salary-saver below 4k.

Also Consider:

  • Skyy Clark – Illinois ($5100) – Cash
  • John Poulakidas – Yale ($4600) – GPP
  • Ahron Ulis – Iowa ($3900) – GPP
  • Jusuan Holt – Georgia ($3800) – GPP
  • Ian Martinez – Maryland ($3400) – Cash

Kris MurrayIOWADUKE900040.79
Like his brother last year, Murray is always a top DFS play if Iowa is on the slate. That reigns true tonight with this matchup vs. Duke being a higher-scoring one compared to other games on the schedule. As Murray, he’s coming off a huge performance of 31 points, 20 rebounds, and 68 DK last time out. He has at least 27 DK in each game this season while averaging 21 points and 10.6 rebounds. Duke has struggled defensively lately and Murray should do his thing.
Manny BatesBUTLEYALE860032
Bates can be tough to trust in cash because the foul risk and/or ineffectiveness is sometimes there. However, there’s plenty of upside for the Butler center when he’s facing undersized frontcourts like Yale’s. Bates has a 40+ DK ceiling if he can assert himself in the paint on both ends as a post scorer, rebounder, and shot-blocker. That’s very possible and likely with Yale being smaller down low.
Tyler WahlWISCUMD810027.97
A matchup against Maryland isn’t ideal, but Wahl will still be involved a ton offensively for Wisconsin to return value on his price tag. He has a whopping 31% usage rate and 29% shot share this season to lead the team and it’s led to a higher DFS floor than most. Maryland is solid defensively but it has struggled against opposing bigs without a ton of size or depth down low.
Coleman HawkinsILUT730028.81
Outside of Shannon, it’s Hawkins who’s emerged as Illinois’ other top playmaker this season. He’s coming off two good games against Maryland and Syracuse where he put up 48 and 34 DK with heavy offensive usage in both. The Illini attack will revolve around Shannon and Hawkins more often than not tonight vs. Texas. The big man is more a high-upside GPP play at this price tag with a 40+ DK ceiling, but some risk against Texas’ strong defense.

Also Consider:

  • Kyle Filipowski – Duke ($8800) – Cash
  • Moussa Cisse – Oklahoma State ($7800) – GPP
  • Donta Scott – Maryland ($7500) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Forwards

Matt KnowlingYALEBUTLE540026.91
Knowling is really cheap considering he’s Yale’s best player who’s averaging 17.6 PPG and 26.9 DK this season. The sub-6k price tag is very appealing in all formats, even in a low-scoring matchup on the road at Butler. Knowling’s usage and shot volume will still be high enough for him to put up 25-30 DK or so. Since Yale hasn’t been on the DFS slate yet, DK has undervalued the team’s players a bit here with Knowling really sticking out.
Dereck Lively IIDUKEIOWA450014.11
Lively has mostly underperformed this season compared to his NBA Draft lottery projection and top high school recruit ranking. Despite being disappointing and even taking a backseat to Kyle Filipowski and others in Duke’s rotation, he’s still way too cheap at sub-5k for his raw talent. One of these days, Lively will wake up and smash value if DK keeps pricing him this low. Even while slumping, he’s still put up 24 and 16 DK in the past two games and now benefits from pace-boost matchup with Iowa.
Jailyn IngramUGAGT380011.33
Georgia has a few injury situations to monitor before tonight’s game. Jailyn Ingram is one player who could benefit if Kario Oquendo and Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe end up sitting or are limited tonight. Ingram has logged 20 and 21 minutes the past two games with both out and is seeing more playing time after missing the first six games of the year. Ingram is coming back from a torn ACL suffered a year ago, but he was a regular starter before getting hurt.

Also Consider:

  • Mark Mitchell – Duke ($5200) – GPP
  • Isaiah Kelly – Yale ($4300) – Cash
