CBB DFS Top Guards

Brandin Podziemski- Santa Clara @ California ($8.0K)

Podziemski, a sophomore transfer from Illinois and Wisconsin's Mr. Basketball in 2021 where he scored 2,000 career HS points is a fearless player and is leading Santa Clara to a special year. They have not been to the NCAA Tournament since Steve Nash and 1996 and that all may change thanks to Podziemski who plays nearly every minute while averaging nearly a double-double every game scoring 16.8 points and 8.9 rebounds.

Eric Williams Jr.- San Diego vs. Arizona State ($7.2K)

Williams, the former Oregon Duck, has been nothing but spectacular at San Diego this season. Over the last five games, he is the team usage leader at 24% and is averaging a double-double with 15.1 PPG and 10.3 boards. ASU has been playing solid defense with a 97.38 defensive efficiency rate (67th) but Williams Jr should get his chances as he plays 34 minutes plus along with a 34.1 DraftKings fantasy point average.

Dalton Knecht- Northern Colorado @ Colorado ($6.7K)

Northern Colorado looks like it’s found a rhythm after a tough start to the season. The Bears picked up their fourth win in five games last Saturday and now face the Pac-12's Colorado for an in-state battle. In their last game against Colorado State, Knecht continued to smash plus help fill the void left by Bodie Hume and Dru Kuxhausen — earning his fourth double-double of the season. He recorded 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Knecht is the top overall point per dollar play on the slate with a solid $6.7K price tag while averaging 17.3 points, and 8.4 rebounds over his last five games.

Other Top Guards

Top point per $ Plays

  • KJ Simpson- Colorado ($8.1K) 30% usage L5- good floor- questionable ceiling
  • Devin Askew- California ($6.8K) 37% shot and 25% assist rate- he is the offense Cash/GPP
  • Daylen Kountz- Northern Colorado ($7.4K) Has done well against good teams
  • Drew Peterson- USC ($9.2K) 14.6 PPG/7.8 RPG and 4.8 AP L5
  • Devin Askew- California ($6.8K) 34.6% usage L5
  • Carlos Stewart- Santa Clara ($6.6K) 30+ DKFP in 3 straight Cash/GPP
  • Curtis Jones - Buffalo ($6.4K) 14.9 PPG/2.7 APG- could see a big game tonight
  • Kobe Johnson- USC ($7.1K) Has been en fuego- 40, 33 and 33 DKFP L3

CBB DFS Value Guards

Kedrian Johnson- West Virginia vs. Buffalo ($5.8K)

Johnson is a tenacious defender, one of the best in the nation and it was on full display when he shut down the nation's leading scorer- Jelly Walker of UAB last week. He also has the ability to drive and finish at the rim and open up space and find shots for his teammates. The fifth-year senior scored 17 points in that UAB game, one point from tying his career high plus he was really effective getting to the hoop- a perfect 7 for 7 from the free throw line. Cheap value is lacking today at guard so we have to spend up a little and take Ked Johnson in your cash lineups.

Top point per $ value plays

  • Mardrez McBride- Georgia ($4.5K)
  • Armoni Foster- Buffalo ($4.0K) 3.4 APG L5
  • Jabri Abdur-Rahim- Georgia ($3.5K)
  • Kobe Johnson- West Virginia ($3.2K) GPP-dart only

CBB DFS Top Forwards

Johni Broome- Auburn @ USV ($8.5K)

Broome is the top overall forward tonight but I wouldn't call him a lock, especially on a slate lacking “safe” $3-4$K price range plays. If value pops up late today then Broome is just fine as he is tied with Wendell Greene at 28.3% usage on Auburn and is the team's second-leading scorer in that span at 11.1 points to go along with 8.2 rebounds. Broome has scored 30+ DraftKings fantasy points in three of his last four games and has only been under 20 fantasy points only twice this season

Tre Mitchell- West Virginia vs. Buffalo ($7.0K)

Yes- I'm a sucker for Tre Mitchell. He is a big man that can shoot from anywhere on the court stud and continues to have a variety of ways to score- just like we saw when he was at Massachusetts. He was misused at Texas ad fell out of favor in the DFS world but the kid is back and has been a monster for the Mountaineers. He is coming off the Big-12 Player of the Week award as he averaged 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game last week in West Virginia’s wins over Navy and UAB. Mitchell has given West Virginia the offensive boost that they needed this season averaging almost 13 points per game in his first 10 games with the Mountaineers. He is tied with another transfer, Erik Stevenson, for the most made field goals (48) and is also shooting 55% plus from the field. Since Mitchell; can play defense he is able to stay on the court more often and that adds to the fantasy goodness of this play.

Other Top Forwards:

Top point per $ plays

  • Tristan da Silva- Colorado ($7.9K) Has been crushing- 16.6 PPG/5.8 RPG and 28% usage L5
  • Lars Thiermann- California ($6.5K) 11.9 PPG/6.6 RPG with 24% usage L5
  • Warren Washington - Arizona State ($6.7K) 8.3 PPG/7.3 RPG L5
  • Jaylin Williams - Auburn ($6.6K) Coming off 41 DKFP game
  • Keshawn Justice- Santa Clara ($6.8K) 12.6 PPG/5.8 RPG L5- 30+ DKFP in 3 of last 5

CBB DFS Value Forwards

Jaden Bediako- Santa Clara vs. California ($5.8K)

We have a very tough slate for value plays today. Bediako is not really a punt play at $5.8K but he will do as he faces a Cal defense that is allowing 32.1 DraftKings fantasy points per game to opposing centers. Bediako has scored 25 and 26 DraftKings fantasy points in his last two games and as long as he gives us 27-30 minutes he should make value. Bediako has been “boom or bust” all season with high games of 44.3 DKFP against Wyoming and then busts like the 9 DKFP he put up against Eastern Washington. Beggars can't be choosers today and we have to take a chance on the Santa Clara big man.

Other Value Forwards:

Top point per $ plays

  • LaQuill Hardnett- Buffalo ($5.6K) 25+ DKFP L2- GPP play but upside
  • Jimmy Bell- West Virginia ($5.1K) 6.0 RPG L5
  • Matthew-Alexander Moncrief- Georgia ($4.2K) 4 straight double-digit DKFP games- remember him at Oklahoma State? This could be the strongest cash/punt play tonight
  • Riley Abercrombie- Northern Colorado ($5.4K)
  • Sam Alajiki- California ($4.4K)
  • Chris Moore- Auburn ($4.3K) 3 straight double-digit DKFP games
  • Parker Braun- Santa Clara ($5.7K) 6.8 RPG L5
