CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Jalen PickettPSUIL900041.5
Pickett is as good as it gets for consistently high cash production. The Penn State point guard is stuffing the stat sheet every time out, averaging 15.8 points, 7.7 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game this season. He’s coming off a monster 52 DK performance against Michigan State and now has at least 38 DK in four straight. Pickett can put together another big stat line in a pace-boost matchup vs. Illinois.
Terquavion SmithNCSTMIA860035.28
Both Smith and Jarkel Joiner are great plays on this slate in a high-scoring, uptempo matchup with Miami. While Joiner is better suited for GPPs, Smith has the higher cash floor with plenty of ceiling of his own. He’s averaging 17.7 PPG and 35 DK points this season while also filling up the stat sheet in multiple ways. Smith has at least 33 DK in three straight and just exploded for 55 DK and 33 points last time out.
Colby JonesXAVCINCY780034.59
Jones is one of those guards who fills up the stat sheet every time out and provides a great cash floor for a high-priced player. Even though he’s coming off a “dud” 22 DK effort vs. West Virginia, he should have more success scoring-wise against Cincy here. You can also look towards Souley Boum to get exposure to this high-total game. Jones is a bit more consistent, averaging 15.5 points, 5.8 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game with 30-40 DK points a regular occurrence.
Terrence Shannon Jr.ILPSU770035.56
Shannon hasn’t shot it particularly well for three straight games but he’s still put up 34, 35, and 27 DK in those outings. His DFS floor remains high because of his heavy offensive usage for Illinois as the go-to scorer. Even in a pace-down matchup vs. Penn State, this price tag is really affordable compared to other top players on this slate. Shannon is a great cash play at this salary below 8k and will benefit from playing at home here.
Nick Smith Jr.ARKOU720020.83
Since returning from an early-season injury, Smith has immediately stepped into a high-usage role for Arkansas. The future NBA Draft lottery pick has a 26% usage rate and 30% shot share and has now started the past two games for the Razorbacks. He’s scored 16 and 22 points with 26 and 35 DK in these past two outings while being very active offensively. The price tag is actually pretty affordable compared to his actual talent level and to the other top players on this slate. Put him into GPP lineups against a solid Oklahoma defense.
Joseph Girard IIISYRGU670023.83
After some recent shooting woes, Girard has bounced back the last two games with 18 and 20 points scored and 30+ DK in both. We know he’s going to get the offensive usage, shot volume, and playing time in a tight Syracuse rotation and the GPP upside is there when he’s making shots. There’s plenty of upside against a weak Georgetown defense at home. Plus, Girard has done well against the Hoyas in the past with 15, 18, and 16 points in the past three meetings.

Also Consider:

  • Isaiah Wong – Miami FL (Cash/GPP)
  • Brandon Murray – Georgetown (Cash)
  • Marcus Sasser – Houston (GPP)
  • David DeJulius – Cincinnati (GPP)

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Matthew ClevelandFSUUL620022.12
Despite being priced above 6k, we’re sneaking Cleveland into the “value” section because there’s a good chance he outperforms the salary. The talented sophomore should be taking on a bigger role on both ends for Florida State with Cam’Ron Fletcher now out for the season. Even with Fletcher active recently, Cleveland has put up 29 and 28 DK in the past two games in tough matchups against Purdue and Virginia. Things get much easier against a bad Louisville team and Cleveland can give us 30 DK as a solid value.
Bensley JosephMIANCST450015.18
Before we get to Joseph, it’s worth mentioning that both Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller are great plays for Miami in this uptempo matchup with NC State. As for Joseph, he has a great chance at returning value at this sub-5k price tag. As a sixth-man, he gets 25 or so minutes per game in a tight rotation. He’s also one of Miami’s top three-point shooters this season (40% from deep so far) and has upside to return 5x value in this high-scoring matchup.
Jalen WarleyFSUUL450014.82
Warley is a prime candidate to move into Florida State’s starting lineup with Cam’Ron Fletcher out for the season. The sophomore has been FSU’s top option off the bench this season and he’s been logging starter-level minutes with Fletcher playing. At this cheap price tag, the potential 5x return is there with the uptick in playing time and role against a poor Louisville defense.
Milos UzanOUARK410011.53
Uzan replaced C.J. Noland in Oklahoma’s starting lineup last game and put up 11 points, five assists, and 22 DK across 29 minutes. We’ll see if his starting role continues, but it seems like the coaching staff prefers the freshman over Noland right now. Uzan and the rest of OU will benefit from a huge pace-boost in this matchup with Arkansas. This cheap price tag is too good to ignore in all formats if Uzan starts again.
Seth TrimbleUNCGT36005.17
If Armando Bacot is out again, then Trimble becomes an intriguing punt value play. The freshman played a season-high 23 minutes with 15 DK off the bench last game with Bacot out. UNC was forced to go with a smaller rotation in Bacot’s absence and Trimble benefited as the Heels’ top reserve in the backcourt. It’s worth a GPP dart if Bacot sits.

Also Consider:

  • Davonte Davis – Arkansas (GPP)
  • Fletcher Loyer – Purdue (Cash)
  • Damari Monsanto – Wake Forest (Cash)
  • Jahvon Quinerly – Alabama (GPP)
  • Jayden Epps – Illinois (Cash)

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Zach EdeyPURNEB1020045.61
It’s expensive, but Edey is worth it. He’s coming off two monster games of 33 points, 22 rebounds, and 61 DK vs. Minnesota and then 23 points, 18 rebounds, and 50 DK vs. Hofstra. The Purdue big man is now averaging 23.2 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 45 DK this season and is showing no signs of slowing down. Nebraska’s frontcourt doesn’t present too tough of a matchup and Edey should anchor your cash lineups yet again. Fade at your own risk at this point.
Jesse EdwardsSYRGU910037.58
Edwards has had some big time performances lately. He had 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 45 DK vs. Notre Dame last Saturday while showing off how dominant he can be in the paint. Edwards should have the upper hand down low against Georgetown’s Qudus Wahab in this matchup and a double-double with 30+ DK is very reasonable. He’s posted at least 28 DK in every game thus far and is perfectly fine in cash.
KJ WilliamsLSUWAKE870032.53
Williams has clearly transitioned well from Murray State to LSU. He’s the focal point of the offense more often than not and he’s been a beast in the paint against opposing frontcourts. His high usage and playing time keeps his DFS cash floor at a safe level with upside for more at his best. He has at least 31 DK in four of the last five games and will benefit from a pace-boost against Wake Forest here.
Jack NungeXAVCINCY810032.5
While everyone rosters Zach Edey, Jesse Edwards, and other top-priced players, Nunge could fly under-the-radar and smash the slate for GPP lineups. The Xavier center has shown the 40+ DK upside at his best, like last game against West Virginia or three games ago vs. Gonzaga. When Nunge is dominating the paint on both ends, the ceiling to be the slate’s top performer is there – and this price tag is actually affordable in a high-total matchup.
Pete NanceUNCGT690026.53
Armando Bacot’s status is one to watch on this slate. If he’s out, then UNC will have to lean on Pete Nance in the frontcourt more often. With Bacot out last game, Nance went for 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 30 DK in a season-high 36 minutes vs. Virginia Tech. He also had a double-double and 36 DK the game prior against Indiana. The Tar Heels don’t have much trustworthy frontcourt depth besides Nance, so his playing time and offensive role will be locked in if Bacot is out.

Also Consider:

  • Jarace Walker – Houston (GPP)
  • Coleman Hawkins – Illinois (Cash)
  • Seth Lundy – Penn State (GPP)
  • Mitchell Saxen – Saint Mary's (Cash)

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Makhi MitchellARKOU590020.14
Mitchell has already been a starter for Arkansas, but he should be playing heavier minutes at center now with Trevon Brazile out for the season. Mitchell had 13 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks, and 45 DK in a season-high 32 minutes last game after Brazile got hurt. We can’t expect on a regular basis moving forward, but he’s clearly going to be playing a ton in the Arkansas frontcourt with Brazile sidelined. At this sub-6k price tag, the GPP upside is definitely there.
DJ BurnsNCSTMIA550015.1
Burns is expected to take on more playing time and a bigger role at center for NC State with Dusan Mahorcic now out indefinitely. Burns has been operating as the backup big to Mahorcic, but he’ll likely move into the starting lineup now. Even as a reserve, the former Winthrop transfer was averaging 15.1 DK despite only playing 16.4 minutes per game. His offensive usage and shot volume have been high when on the court this year and we can reasonably expect 20-25 DK or more with the uptick in playing time – especially in a high-scoring matchup with Miami here.
Puff JohnsonUNCGT420010.88
Johnson started the last game with Armando Bacot out. However, he only logged 12 minutes and finished with zero points and zero rebounds. Despite that bad outing, Johnson is still worth a GPP dart at this cheap price tag if he’s starting again in Bacot’s absence. We saw Johnson put up 26 DK in 48 minutes of the four-overtime game against Alabama recently. So, at least, we know some ceiling is there if UNC gives him the playing time. There’s definite risk here though.
Trey Kaufman-RennPURNEB370011.08
Kaufman-Renn has moved into more minutes and a bigger role in the Purdue frontcourt with Mason Gillis out the last two games. He’s scored in double figures both times with 23 and 16 DK in the past two contests, including an uptick in minutes. Caleb Furst can also be considered as he’s starting in Gillis’ place, but Kaufman-Renn is notably cheaper for possible similar DFS production as he splits time with Furst at the four.

Also Consider:

  • J'Wan Roberts – Houston (GPP)
  • Dain Dainja – Illinois (GPP)
  • Kyle Bowen – Saint Mary's (Cash)
  • Caleb Furst – Purdue (Cash)
