Top Guards

Javon Freeman-LibertyDPUMARQ940039.5880036.65
Though Freeman-Liberty is very expensive, he’s usually worth it with his high usage and shot rates as DePaul’s alpha playmaker. Since returning from a groin injury, JFL has posted 62, 39, 42 and 38 DK in the last four games with stuffed stat sheets all around. We should see another stud-like DFS performance in tonight’s faster-paced, high-scoring matchup vs. Marquette – making him a solid cash option.
Jared RhodenSHUGTWN  710027.99
Rhoden continues to operate as Seton Hall’s first scoring option as long as Bryce Aiken remains out, and that keeps his DFS floor/ceiling combo at a safe cash level. Now he gets a very favorable uptempo matchup against Georgetown’s terrible defense. The FD price tag is actually a bargain when you consider Rhoden has put up 40 FD points or more in two of the last three.
Blake WesleyNDFSU730025.35590023.04
There are a number of ways you can go at the guard position tonight, but Wesley might be an overlooked option because he hasn’t performed like a true stud in recent games. Still, the true freshman can go off for 30+ DFS points any time out and now gets a favorable matchup vs. Florida St’s struggling, banged-up defense. The cheap FD price tag is especially attractive.
Jahvon QuinerlyBAMATA&M710025.9500023.56
First off, both Quinerly and Davison are priced way down on FD and should be popular in all formats with those discounts. Even on DK, though, Quinerly is at a solid price point despite having the proven floor/ceiling combo of 30-40 DFS points as Alabama’s point guard. He’s coming off a 20-point, 31 DK performance over the weekend and could easily replicate those numbers tonight.
Fatts RussellUMDMINN700027.55
Russell has been on a tear lately, averaging 22.5 PPG and 37 DK over the past six games with at least 18 points and 31 DK in each outing. Both his usage and shot rates are at high levels as the Terps’ scoring-minded point guard, and he’s playing with a ton of confidence despite the team’s mid-season coaching change. Now he gets to face a Minnesota defense that’s been the Big Ten’s second-worst in terms of efficiency. The DK pricing is pretty affordable, all things considered.

K.D. JohnsonAUBMSST550021.79470020.18
When he’s being aggressive offensively, a bucket-getter like Johnson has the upside to smash these cheaper price tags on both sites. Although he’s only reached 20+ DK in two of the last five games, the guy can go off for 15-20 points scored and 25-30 DFS points on any given night. It helps tonight that he tends to play better on the road, averaging 23.8 DK away vs. 20.4 DK at home.
Kadary RichmondSHUGTWN  520021.33
Richmond has taken on a much bigger role the past month or so with Bryce Aiken out, and it’s resulting in him being a solid DFS value option. While running Seton Hall’s point, he has at least 19 FD points in nine straight games and is averaging 24.6 FD over this span. He makes for an excellent value on the FD slate in the low-5k range in this favorable matchup vs. Georgetown, whom he put up 36 FD on a month ago.
Tyler KolekMARQDPU540023.03460020.97
Kolek has seen a slight price decrease recently with a couple down efforts, but this is an affordable way to get exposure to one of the slate’s highest totals. He had 28.5 DK vs. DePaul earlier this season and is still averaging 21 DK over the past ten games. You can roster him in cash or GPP and feel pretty good about it tonight.
Jalen WarleyFSUND420012.13420011.26
With FSU still dealing with so many injuries, Warley is one of a few ‘Noles seeing an increase in playing time and offensive role right now. The freshman has 17, 22 and 34 DK over the past three games and is locked into safe minutes as long as Caleb Mills and Anthony Polite remain out. It’s risky value, but the low-4k price tags present the opportunity for 5x value or more.
Hassan DiarraTA&MBAMA380011.6247009.93
Diarra is one of a couple Texas A&M players who’s playing a bigger role lately with Marcus Williams away from the team. In his teammate’s absence, Diarra has 24, 22 and 19 DK over the past three games with double-digit points scored in each. Though it’s hard to trust the A&M rotations and DFS production right now, he’s a nice GPP salary-saver.

  • Trey Alexander – Creighton ($5,200 DK / $4,900 FD)
  • Brevin Galloway – Boston College ($5,000 DK Only)
  • Hakim Hart – Maryland ($4,600 DK Only)

Jaylin WilliamsARKLSU820031.92830029.74
Williams now has a double-double and at least 34 DK in six straight games and is averaging 15.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 38 DK over this span. It’s pretty automatic at this point with his high-usage role, elite rebounding ability and uptempo Arkansas attack. Williams also had a double-double and 38 DK vs. LSU in the prior meeting. He’ll likely do the same thing this time as LSU struggles against opposing bigs.
Justin LewisMARQDPU800032.54720030.03
We know Lewis’ DFS floor is pretty safe with his high-usage role as Marquette’s offensive headliner. The power forward is averaging 18.5 PPG and 35 DK over the past ten games and had 29 DK vs. DePaul in the first meeting. In a high-total matchup tonight, expect Lewis to give you 30-35 DFS points and anchor your cash lineups.
Jabari SmithAUBMSST790032.57780029.99
Smith is on a major heater lately with at least 27 points scored and 41 DK in three of the last four games. It’s likely to continue with the Auburn attack now running through him much more often than it was earlier this season. It seems Bruce Pearl is finally starting to realize that his NBA lottery pick needs to have the ball in his hands as much as possible - and it’s resulting in some big-time DFS performances.
David JonesDPUMARQ690032.68770030.03
Jones is coming off a slate-breaking performance on Saturday when he had 54 DK with 24 points, 10 rebounds and plenty of ancillary stats. Yes, that came in a pace-boost matchup vs. St, John’s – but this is another uptempo scenario vs. Marquette. Jones has 27 DK in this matchup earlier this season and is still putting up numbers with Freeman-Liberty back in the mix. The cheaper DK tag is a good buy-low opportunity on a guy that’s been in the 8k range not long ago.

Other Top Forwards:

  • Walker Kessler – Auburn ($8,800 DK / $8,600 FD)
  • Tari Eason – LSU ($8,400 DK / $8,200 FD)
  • Jack Nunge – Xavier ($7,600 DK Only)
  • Moussa Cisse – Oklahoma State ($6,000 DK / $5,600 FD)

Charles BediakoBAMATA&M470017.44440016.78
Bama’s 7-foot freshman always has DFS upside when he’s dominating the interior. Though his minutes are usually capped at 25 or so, Bediako can still rack up 20-30 DFS points or more if he stays out of foul trouble and is racking up rebounds, blocks and points in the paint. It helps that Texas A&M is the SEC’s worst defensive rebounding team and doesn’t have anyone taller than 6-foot-8 in the regular rotation.
Arthur KalumaCREUCONN450018.82530016.95
Kaluma has been fairly productive since returning from injury, with 20 DK in his first game back and then 12 DK last time out. That last performance is why he’s now priced down a bit (especially on DK), but this is a guy who was regularly giving you 20-25 DFS points or more at a regular clip before his injury. It’s a good sign that he was back in the starting lineup last game too.
Yor AneiDPUMARQ440014.27460013.34
It’s not a flashy play, but Anei is a boom-or-bust option to get exposure to that high-total matchup between Marquette and DePaul. He’s put up 31 and 21 DK in the past two games and acutally went off for a double-double and 30 DK vs. Marquette in the prior meeting. The pace-boost should help Anei grab more rebounds and ancillary stats, though the DFS floor isn’t great at all for cash.
Esahia NyiweSTJNXAV37007.41
On the DK slate, Nyiwe could be a chalky value if we get official word that Joel Soriano is out again. He’s started the last two games with Soriano out and put up 19 and 16 DK with the increased role and minutes. If Nyiwe is starting, the sub-4k price tag is very attractive in a high-total game environment.
