Top Guards

Jamaree BouyeaSFOGONZ840034.77810031.99
People may overlook San Francisco’s players against Gonzaga tonight, but they’re very much in play in the highest game total of the slate. Running the point in a high-usage role, Bouyea could give you 30-40 DFS points or more as he’ll be SFO’s main guy to keep it close vs. the Zags’ high-scoring attack. He had 25 points and 40 DK in this matchup earlier this season.
Bennedict MathurinARIZUTAH800030.95840028.57
We’ve said it multiple times before this season and we’ll say it again tonight: play Mathurin on the road. The guy seems to play with a different intensity on the road and it’s translating over to DFS success away from home. Mathurin is averaging 21.3 PPG and 36 DK on the road compared to 14.6 PPG and 27 DK at home. The only worry tonight is the likely blowout win over Oregon State, but the matchup is very ideal.
Andrew NembhardGONZSFO750026.98770025.17
Without many clear stud guards on this slate, Nembhard should be a popular play in cash formats. As the point guard for Gonzaga’s high-scoring offense, the floor is usually pretty safe in the 30 DFS point range or higher. He had a stat-stuffing 31 DK in the previous matchup vs. San Francisco and is averaging 33 DK on the road this season.
Tevin BrownMURRBEL730032.49590029.39
For whatever reason, we have Murray State and Belmont on tonight’s slate on both sites. That puts Tevin Brown firmly in play among the top guards as Murray St’s all-around best player who can fill up the stat sheet in multiple ways. He has a ton of three-point upside tonight in this matchup against a Belmont defense that gives it up plenty from the perimeter and in a high-total environment at home. His cheap FD price is very attractive.
Jaylen ClarkUCLAORE570018.17790017.23
After missing a chunk of games with a concussion, Clark is fully back and playing a huge role for UCLA. He’s taken on heavy offensive usage and shot volume the last three games while starting in place of Tyger Campbell, and it’s resulted in some massive DFS performances with 49, 34 and 35 DK over the past three. Even if Campbell returns tonight, it’s hard to imagine Clark just going away. His DK price could make him chalky.

Other Top Guards:

  • Javon Freeman-Liberty -- DePaul ($8,800 DK Only)
  • Drew Peterson -- USC ($8,100 DK / $7,700 FD)
  • Aminu Mohammed -- Georgetown ($7,400 DK Only)
  • Will Richardson -- Oregon ($7,100 DK / $7,400 FD)
  • Khalil Shabazz -- San Francisco ($6,400 DK / $7,100 FD)

Jacob YoungOREUCLA550020.71500019.22
Though Will Richardson is usually the headliner for Oregon, Young handles the ball and runs offensive possessions at about the same rate now. He brings a decent DFS floor, with his assists and ancillary stats, and has a ceiling if he’s hitting shots more consistently. Young played a key role in the earlier-season win over UCLA with his 23 points and 30 DK. This is a nice bargain in the 5k range.
Alex LomaxMEMTEMP540018.6500017.14
As has been the case all season, Memphis’ rotations and DFS production is nearly impossible to predict game-to-game. One semi-constant, though, has been Lomax running the point more often lately as one of the team’s best distributors and ball-handlers. He’s especially important tonight if Landers Nolley sits out. Lomax is averaging 20.6 DK over the past ten games and should do enough in cash to return value.
Courvoisier McCauleyDPUGU510011.35
McCauley got the start for DePaul last game with David Jones out and he responded with a double-double and 34 DK in the role increase. We’ll have to see if Jones plays tonight as he recovers from an injury injury, but McCauley may be starting again and is a great value on DK in a favorable matchup vs. Georgetown's fast pace and poor defense. The senior has seen a big uptick in playing time and offensive usage over the past month and now has at least 23 DK in four of the last six games.
Keeshawn BarthelemyCOLASU410019.24
On the DK slate, Colorado has three cheap guards worth considering in cash or GPP. We have Nique Clifford, KJ Simpson and Keeshawn Barthelemy all below 5k and doing enough to return value. Barthelemy, in particular, is playing a bigger role now with Eli Parquet out for the season. He went off for a stat-stuffing 36 DK in the prior matchup vs. Arizona St as well.
Tamar BatesIUUMD38008.0841007.33
Bates stepped into a bigger role in Indiana’s backcourt on Monday with Rob Phinisee, Trey Galloway and Khristian Lander all out. It’s likely all three are out again tonight, locking Bates into plenty of court time at some cheap price tags. In 25 minutes, he finished with 17 DK and double-digit shot attempts in that last outing. Parker Stewart is another IU value guard to consider.

Other Value Guards:

  • Tai Strickland -- Temple ($5,500 DK / $5,800 FD)
  • Kerr Kriisa -- Arizona ($5,500 DK / $4,500 FD)
  • Gabe Stefanini -- San Francisco ($4,700 DK / $5,500 FD)
  • Nique Clifford -- Colorado ($4,700 DK Only)
  • Parker Stewart -- Indiana ($4,400 DK / $4,400 FD)
  • Ian Martinez -- Maryland ($4,200 DK / $4,900 FD)

Chet HolmgrenGONZSFO920037.64860034.82
With Gonzaga on the slate, we’re faced with the unfortunate decision of rostering Chet Holmgren or Drew Timme. As always, you can go both and figure the rest out. If choosing between them, Holmgren has the higher floor/ceiling combo for DFS and he dominated San Francisco’s interior earlier this season with 22 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and 45 DK. He’s also averaging 17.6 points, 13 rebounds, 3.6 blocks and 45 DK on the road so far.
Trayce Jackson-DavisIUUMD860037.22810035.46
Jackson-Davis had a good game vs. Maryland in the first meeting and should he have no issue replicating it against this below-average interior defense. He had 17 points, nine rebounds and 33 DK in the prior matchup and now gets to face the Terps at home here. Look for a rebound performance from TJD after his subpar effort vs. Ohio State on Monday.
KJ WilliamsMURRBEL830034.2850032.55
We haven’t had Murray St on the DFS slate that often this season, but Williams is always a top forward option if in action. The center is a handful down low and is a nightly threat for a 20-point double-double. He’s put up at least 33 DK in nine of the last ten games while averaging 17.6 PPG, 8.1 RPG and 34 DK in that span. He had 31 DK vs. Belmont in the first meeting but only played 18 minutes in a 22-point win. Expect a top-tier performance tonight with Belmont giving their best effort.
Drew TimmeGONZSFO820031.09830029.20
We went over Holmgren already, but Timme deserves to be considered a top forward on this slate - even with guys like Kofi Cockburn, E.J. Liddell, Azuolas Tubelis and Isaiah Mobley in the mix. Gonzaga’s offense is so high-powered and efficient that multiple guys will have good DFS performance every time. Timme mostly had his way with San Francisco in the first meeting when he had 23 points and 35 DK. We can realistically expect 30+ DK from him every game with the GPP ceiling for a lot more.
Jalen DurenMEMTEMP670027.65610025.03
The stud freshman has some affordable price tags on both sites for the upside to smash value. He has the upside to go for 30+ DFS points and a double-double any time out with his above-the-rim talent, and Temple doesn’t have the size or athleticism down low to contend with both Duren and De’Andre Williams for an entire game. Duren has home/road splits in his favor, too, as he’s averaging 31 DK at home vs. 23 DK on the road.

Other Top Forwards:

  • Kofi Cockburn -- Illinois ($9,000 DK / $8,200 FD)
  • Isaiah Mobley -- USC ($7,900 DK / $7,300 FD)
  • Azuolas Tubelis -- Arizona ($7,800 DK / $7,700 FD)
  • Race Thompson -- Indiana ($7,200 DK / $7,600 FD)
  • Yauhen Massalski -- San Francisco ($6,500 DK / $7,800 FD)

N'Faly DanteOREUCLA570018.99620017.91
Dante is right on the fringe of being a value, but he has the GPP ceiling to smash these prices at his best. He’s coming off a double-double and 34 DK performance vs. Arizona and has at least 27 DK in three of the last five games. His size and interior presence will be needed to beat UCLA tonight.
Myles JohnsonUCLAORE540016.22520015.34
UCLA is resting and giving Cody Riley fewer minutes lately to manage his workload, which is leading to more playing time for Johnson at the center spot. He’s started the last three games and has 19 and 29 DK in the past two outings, respectively. The DFS ceiling isn’t great, but Johnson can grab enough rebounds and blocks some shots to return value - and his size will be needed tonight against N’Faly Dante.
Anton WatsonGONZSFO510019.95440018.95
Watson is admittedly a tough player to predict in DFS circles. As Gonzaga’s first player off the bench, he usually has plenty of opportunities to rack up points or ancillary stats to return value. However, he doesn’t have a trustworthy offensive usage or shot volume - so you’re hoping for some easy buckets or enough stats in other categories. Still, he’s averaging 19.9 DK over the past ten games and had 24.8 DK vs. San Fran in the prior matchup.
Lahat ThiouneUTAHARIZ32009.1832008.40
Thioune could emerge as a dirt cheap salary-saver if Branden Carlson sits with his ankle injury. He’s a game-time decision, so unfortunately we won’t know his real status until closer to this 11 pm ET tip. If Carlson sits, Thioune is a top candidate to enter Utah’s starting lineup. That was the case earlier this season when Carlson was out and Thioune usually did just enough to return value with the increased playing time.

Other Value Forwards:

  • Glenn Taylor Jr. -- Oregon State ($5,200 DK / $6,200 FD)
  • Qudus Wahab -- Maryland ($4,900 DK / $4,700 FD)
  • Kyle Young -- Ohio State ($4,800 DK / $4,800 FD)
  • Tristan da Silva -- Colorado ($4,500 DK Only)
