Top Guards

Julian ChampagnieSTJNBUTLE870036.46830034.02
On this short slate without many stud guards, Champagnie is in a tier by himself with one of the best floor/ceiling combos in the sport and, deservedly, the price king on both sites. He’s coming off an excellent 27-point, 45 DK performance last time out and has at least 33 DK in four of the last five games - including his 21 points and 35 DK vs. Butler a couple weeks ago. It’ll be hard to fade Champagnie in cash as he's doing even more now with Posh Alexander banged up.
Jacob GilyardRICHVCU840033.5
On the DK slate, we have this Richmond-VCU matchup and it makes Gilyard a top cash guard option. Richmond’s stat-stuffing point guard is averaging 16.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 35.7 DK per game over the past ten contests. Even though he faces a stifling VCU defense tonight, Gilyard should do plenty to anchor lineups as he had 33 DK in this matchup last month.
Iverson MolinarMSSTMIZZ820031.47810029.65
Molinar’s DFS floor is always pretty high with his heavy usage and shot volume as Mississippi State’s alpha playmaker. He’s averaging 20.1 PPG and 31.6 DK points over the past ten games and should produce around those numbers against the SEC’s second-worst defense. Maybe he’s even a little less rostered than Champagnie too.

Other Top Guards:

  • Fatts Russell -- Maryland ($8,000 DK / $7,300 FD)
  • Alonzo Verge Jr. -- Nebraska ($7,100 DK / $6,500 FD)
  • Adrian Baldwin Jr. -- VCU ($6,700 DK Only)

Keshawn CurryVCURICH550018.07
Curry is right on the fridge of being a cash value because of his affordable price tag, but he’s better suited for GPP. He’s put up 27, 37 and 28 DK in three of the last four games with a pair of scoring outburst of 28 and 21 points. He’s averaging 20 DK over the past ten contents and had 20.5 DK in the prio meeting vs. Richmond. However, he’s prone to a dud outing or two if he’s not active offensively - so limit to GPPs.
Simas LukosiusBUTLESTJN530013.02490011.57
Butler has a couple key injuries to track and, thankfully, it’s the early game on the slate - so we’ll get some answers before 5 pm ET. Bo Hodges and Bryce Nze both sat out Tuesday’s game and Simas Lukosius stepped up in his spot start. The freshman scored 19 points and 28 DK over a season-high 36 minutes in the absences of Hodges and Nze. If he’s starting again with his teammates sidelined, expect Lukosius to be a popular cash value in this pace-boost matchup.
Montez MathisSTJNBUTLE490018.86450017.84
After spending one game coming off the bench, Mathis moved back into the starting lineup on Wednesday and put up a solid 21 DK over 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Stef Smith went to the bench and didn’t make much of an impact. The St. John’s rotation and starting lineup has been tough to predict this season, but Mathis should continue in his starting role and provide just enough ancillary stats to return cash value.
Cam CarterMSSTMIZZ43006.7430006.14
Carter got the surprise start on Wednesday with Rocket Watts out, and he played well with the increase in playing time. The freshman scored 15 points in a season-high 28 minutes despite not cracking double-digit minutes since late December. Though it came out of nowhere, it’s worth playing him if he starts for Mississippi State again - and in an easier matchup vs. Missouri this time.

Other Value Guards:

  • Chuck Harris -- Butler ($5,700 DK / $5,300 FD)
  • Jayden Nunn -- VCU ($5,300 DK Only)
  • DaJuan Gordon -- Missouri ($5,200 DK / $4,800 FD)
  • Jayden Taylor -- Butler ($4,700 DK / $4,200 FD)
  • Andre Gustavson -- Richmond ($4,500 DK Only)

Vince Williams Jr.VCURICH750030.76
Without many stud options in the forward pool tonight, Williams should be considered a top cash play on the DK slate. He brings a trustworthy floor with his regular usage, shot volume and rebounding. Then there’s his ceiling, like when he had 22 points, 10 boards, eight assists and 54 DK vs. Richmond in the prior meeting. While we can’t expect a repeat of that performance, it’s certainly a good sign for tonight's rematch at home.
Grant GoldenRICHVCU700029.07
Both Grant Golden and Tyler Burton are solid plays on this slate with the lack of top forward plays. Golden will likely end up more popular as the cheaper of the two and slightly safer cash floor. He had 18 points, nine rebounds and 35 DK in the previous matchup vs. VCU and we’d gladly take that at this affordable price tag.
Garrison BrooksMSSTMIZZ680023.59720021.63
Brooks hasn’t been a top DFS forward play for us that often this season, but the lack of options on this short slate puts him squarely in play. He’s been performing a lot better lately with at least 31 DK in four of the last five games. Missouri is one of the worst rebounding teams in the SEC and Brooks can easily record a double-double with 30 DK or so in this matchup.
Donta ScottUMDNEB660024.92690023.05
Maryland gets a major pace-boost tonight and all their key players can be considered. Scott, especially, has a favorable matchup as Nebraska is among the country’s worst rebounding teams and is subpar defensively in the interior. Scott has been up-and-down for DFS all season, but he has more upside in these types of matchups where he can take advantage in the paint and on the boards.

Other Top Forwards:

  • Tyler Burton -- Richmond ($7,700 DK Only)
  • Kobe Brown -- Missouri ($7,200 DK / $6,800 FD)

Value Forwards

Joel SorianoSTJNBUTLE570018.66440017.88
Soriano is priced a bit too high on DK to play in cash, but he’s way cheap on FD at sub-5k and could be popular over there. The St. John’s center is coming off a stat-stuffing performance on Wednesday when he put up 31 DK vs. Xavier. He’s always capable of going for 25-30 DFS points at his best, and he had a solid 20 DK vs. Butler in the prior matchup.
Ronnie DeGray IIIMIZZMSST540018.34520017.07
Though DeGray isn’t normally heavily involved offensively for Mizzou, he still puts up plenty of ancillary stats as a regular starter to return value. The sophomore wing is averaging 18.7 DK points over the past ten games and has 21 DK or more in four of the last five. There aren’t many trustworthy cash values at forward tonight, but DeGray is cheap enough.
Qudus WahabUMDNEB450017.59370016.54
Wahab has some upside to return value with how bad Nebraska is on the glass and on defense in a major pace-boost matchup. It’s always risky to play the Maryland center, though, because he could give you close to nothing if he’s in foul trouble or if the Terps go small. Still, the GPP ceiling of 25 DK is there in this favorable matchup.

  • Bryce Golden -- Butler ($5,100 DK / $4,700 FD)
  • Trevon Brazile -- Missouri ($4,600 DK / $4,600 FD)
