TOP GUARDS
Jaden Ivey (Purdue) Opp UMD ($8.4K DK/8.3K FD)
When Ivey is playing like this Purdue is hard to beat. He single-handedly beat Illinois last week with one of the most impressive second-half performances that we’ve seen all season. The 6’4” guard destroyed the Illini in pick-and-roll offense and now faces the 256th ranked defensive efficiency defense in the nation- Nebraska. This will be a fast game with both teams pushing the pace and noon will benefit more than Ivey who is carrying a 33.7% usage rate over the last five games while scoring 21.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. If the game stays fairly close and Ivey gets a full run today, he will nuke the slate at a possible low ownership percentage.
Dylan Addae-Wusu (St. John’s) Opp UCONN ($6.2K DK/6.0K FD)
St. John’s may be without its top playmaker and perimeter defender- Posh Alexander- again this afternoon. If Alexander sits again then Addae-Wusu becomes a real strong point per dollar play on both sites. Addae-Wusus’s sophomore season has had its ups and downs, but his numbers have risen across the board- 9.5 points (compared to 6.5 last season), 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. He is $1K less than he was just two weeks ago and if Posh does sit again he will get another chance to run the third ranked adjusted tempo offense in the entire nation.
Other Top Guards
RJ Cole (UCONN) $7.5K DK/7.5K FD Cash/GPP Cole is a 3-pt shooter and St. John’s #312 ranked against—a great spot
Alonzo Verge G/F (NEB) $7.4K DK/6.7K FD GPP Pace up spot
Posh Alexander (STJN) $7.3K DK/7.7K FD Cash/GPP Is GTD but the price dropped $1.5K and the top game environment if cleared to go
Bryce McGowens (NEB) $7K DK/6.6K FD 30% usage last 5 games
Sasha Stefanovic (PUR) $6.1K DK/4.8K FD GPP One-trick pony- but will get hot from 3
TOP VALUE GUARDS
Trey McGowens G/F (Nebraska) Opp @IOWA ($3.9K DK/6.2K FD)
Nebraska is coming off a big win over Minnesota after losing five straight games and nine of their last ten. McGowens was a key part of that win scoring six points, grabbing seven rebounds, picking up two steals, and splitting defensive time with the two Minnesota studs Jamison Battle and Payton Willis. With two 25+ DKFP games over his last four McGowens is finally getting healthy, playing significant minutes, and becoming a key contributor to NU. Too cheap for the game environment
Jordan Bohannon (Iowa) Opp NEB ($4.7K DK/5.5K FD)
The swagger returned on Thursday night as Iowa’s sixth-year senior scored a school-record 10 three-pointers to finish with 30 points in Iowa’s dominant 110-87 win over Maryland. The problem is that Bohannon’s struggles on offense have been a central topic of Iowa’s season so far as he had only made nine of his pasty 34 3-point attempts in his past five games. He’s always a risky play due to his consistent shooting but finds himself in a great spot today against the 259th ranked team in the nation against the 3-point shot.
Other Value Guards to Consider
Andre Jackson G/F (UCONN) $5.0K DK/5.3K FD GPP Great GPP spot if stays out of foul trouble
Stef Smith (STJN) $3.2K DK/3.7K FD In play as a punt of Posh is out
Eric Hunter Jr (PUR) $4.3K DK/4.6K FD
TOP FORWARDS
Keegan Murray (Iowa) Opp NEB ($9.7K DK/8.5K FD)
Murray won’t come cheap but he’s the top overall play of the slate. The sophomore is the Big Ten’s leading scorer with 22.7 points per game and averages over 42 DKFP while only dipping (37.4) and has tallied 20+ points 14 times and 25+ points and NCAA-best nine times this season.
Alonzo Verge (Nebraska) Opp @IOWA ($7.4K DK/6.7K FD)
We haven’t seen Verge’s salary this low since December 7tt and he finds himself in the top DFS game environment of the slate. His Cornhuskers do not play defense, but they push the pace (22nd- 72.73) and will be facing Iowa and their fifth-ranked adjusted efficiency offense in the country. Verge does carry risk, but this is a very reasonable price for a player that carries a usage rate over 30% (32.2), a 29.1% shot rate, and a fourth in the nation 41.9% assist rate.
Other Top Forwards
Kofi Cockburn (ILL) $8.9K DK/8.4K FD Cash/GPP 31% usage; 32% shot; 41.7% combined rebound
Julian Champagnie G/F (STJN) $8.3K DK/8.1K FD is questionable but at cheapest price point of the season
Trevion Williams/Zach Edey (PUR) GPP Bigs destroy UMD interior
Tyrese Martin (UCONN) $6.2K DK/6.5K FD
TOP FORWARD VALUES
Adama Sanogo (Connecticut) Opp @STJN ($5.3K DK/7.9K FD)
This is a DK misprice so take the free square and move on. Sanogo was nearly $9K less than two weeks ago and put up a 50-burger in one of those games in the span when he destroyed Marquette for 24 points /15 rebounds. He is averaging 15.8 points and 10.6 rebounds over his last 10 games and is the top value play on the slate.
