With only three games today below is a quick breakdown with example lineups.  All lineups are more GPP-based.  Please make sure to monitor your lineups leading up to lock time.Good luck!

Miami -7 @ Chicago  T: 197

The Bulls have lost their last two games by 30 and 49 points respectively, but did manage to only lose 97-91 to the Heat back on November 1st.  Hassan Whiteside is questionable for today, and may not receive a status update until close to game time.

Phoenix @ Minnesota -13  T: 225.5

This game has both the largest spread, and highest-projected total of today’s short slate.  Jeff Teague is questionable today after being a late scratch on Friday night.  Similar to Whiteside, with a Sunday afternoon start time, we may not have a status update until close to game time for Teague.  Booker has also been added to the injury report, and is listed as questionable for today.  Although the T-Wolves are heavy favorites, they lost to the Suns 118-110 back on November 11th.  Both teams are going through some defensive issues, and looking to rebound from some tough, recent losses.

Brooklyn @ Memphis -5.5    T: 211.5

This game is starting 2.5 hours after the two afternoon games, but currently, we don’t see any injury concerns at the moment.  I’m not sure if the 211.5 projected total from Vegas is a trap or not.  Due to that total, this game may be the perfect late night hammer option.  Memphis has dropped seven-straight, with their last five-straight losses coming once Conley went down.  They’ve scored under 95 points in four-straight games.  Vegas is going more off of Brooklyn’s performance on the road this season.  In their seven road losses this year, the Nets have allowed 120.1 points per game.

Fantasy Breakdown:

Guard:  The biggest sign that today is set-up best for GPPs is that Spencer Dinwiddie is your top-priced PG on FD tonight.  What’s even more crazy is that he deserves that honor today, as he’s scored at least 34 FD points in four of his last five games, including scoring 21 actual points in three of his last four games.  Goran Dragic is your top-priced DK point guard option, and has 47 actual points over his last two games, after struggling for just 14 combined points over his previous two games.  He went 20-6-5 in his first matchup vs. the Bulls.  Tyus Jones received the start on Friday for the T-Wolves with Teague out, and went for 32 DK points over 33 minutes.  He’ll become a popular value-option if Teague remains out.   I’ll continue to target Mario Chalmers as well at the PG spot, and believe he is in a great spot tonight to break out of a recent slump.  Chalmers has shot over 50% from the field just once over his last five starts, but the last two point guards to face the Nets have gone off, with Curry going for 39 actual points, and Lillard with 34.

If Devin Booker is ruled out, I don’t mind going to Tyler Ulis or Mike James today.  On DK, Jimmy Butler is your top option, but is listed as a SF, and in play there on FD.  If not using Tyreke Evans, targeting either Dion Waiters, or Wayne Ellington from the Heat would be my preferred plays.  Keep in mind that on DK, there are plenty more options to choose from due to the multiple position eligibility of players.

Forward:  Today’s slate provides us with no player at $10K on FD, and nobody above $9K on DK tonight.  This allows you the ability to pretty much roster anyone you want.  On DK, after Booker, TJ Warren is your top-priced forward option at only $7,100. He went 35 and six vs. the T-Wolves, and I prefer him over Andrew Wiggins.  Lauri Markkanen has been struggling lately, but works as a pivot option from Warren, Wiggins, and Evans on DK.

FD-wise, Butler is priced way too high, but is still your top-option at SF.  Warren continues to be in play, but after those two, your forward options are pretty wide open.  For SF, I prefer Butler/Warren, but could pivot to DeMarre Carroll or Allen Crabbe from the Nets.  Please note that I think leaving salary on the table could be the key for standing out in large GPPs today, and the forward spots is your place to make a move.  The PF spot is led price-wise by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Markkanen, but I will likely be fading both of them tonight.  This spot is where Whiteside’s status is key.  Both James Johnson and Kelly Olynyk would be elite options if Whiteside is out.  If Whiteside plays, I still like both of them as well today.  Taj Gibson went 16 and 12 vs. the Suns earlier this year, and I prefer him over Bobby Portis tonight.

Center:  Not including Whiteside, Karl-Anthony Towns and Marc Gasol are your two top-options, with a $3K gap between the next priced center option on DK, and a $4,300 gap on FD.  Of the top-two, I’ll stick with Gasol over Towns, but may want to try exposure to both of them if playing multiple lineups. The three Phoenix centers are in play as higher risk GPP options, unless we receive word that one of them is out.  After the Suns trio, Davis from Memphis, and Zeller from Brooklyn would be my two higher risk punt options.
