Lauri Markkanen said he's looking forward to proving his doubters wrong in his fourth NBA season.
“I kind of had a down year last year, so it was mentally a new experience for me,” said Markkanen. "I know for a fact that people, with my down year, they don’t expect that big of things from me. My expectations are even higher than ever now, just going back to my fourth year and performing at a high level. So I do want to prove all the people wrong.” Markkanen added that he was encouraged by his initial conversations with his new head coach Billy Donovan, implying that Donovan told him he'd have a more prominent role in the offense in his system. It's possible, with a better coach and healthy offseason, Markkanen can have a big, bounce-back year. Oct 03 1:03 pm (EST)
