We have the Fantasy Alarm NFL Final Injury Report for Week 14 on tap! There are quite a few statuses that have already been announced with a few that we will still await. Let’s discuss!

Christian McCaffrey RB, CAR (Shoulder/Thigh)

After we had thought that we may get a short absence and a quicker return from CMC than we expected, this has been halted. After reports came out earlier in the week that McCaffrey had somewhat recovered from the shoulder injury but sustained a new injury with his thigh tightening up. This coupled with the fact that he was not at practice on Thursday is going to basically write the status for itself as Head Coach Matt Rhule said on Thursday “At this time I do not expect him to play.” Tough break for CMC backers, but not much we can do on this one.

DeAndre Hopkins WR, ARZ (Neck/Back)

Friday’s practice reports out of Arizona will be one to keep an eye on as D-Hop was listed as a DNP on Thursday with a few “non-related” injuries. Hopefully, this was just a cautionary absence for Hopkins as he may have needed an extra day this week to recover from some soreness. Hopefully, we see his return to the practice field in any capacity for Friday’s practice session and this was the case. However, it is something worth keeping an eye on.

James Robinson RB, JAC (Knee)

Robinson is dealing with a sore knee that he sustained during the Jaguars Week 13 loss to the Vikings and this kept him as just a limited participant in the Jags Thursday practice in preparation for their Week 14 match against the Titans at home. This makes for his second limited practice in a row this week, so there is a slight bit of concern, but him being on the practice field does show positive signs for his availability for this week. The optimism is high from Head Coach Doug Marrone in terms of Robinson’s availability for Sunday, so likely it isn’t severe, but Friday’s practice report should shine a bit of light into his status. Likely Robinson is in no danger of missing Sunday’s game.

A.J. Brown WR, TEN (Ankle)

Brown has now missed back-to-back practice sessions for the Titans as they prepare for their Week 14 match up against the Jaguars, and this does not exactly bode well for his status, however we know that Brown has routinely been taking a day or so off in prep weeks of practice for healing and recovery. The Titans Friday practice reports will likely shine a bit of light into if Brown was able to re-take the practice field in any form or not, and this will be a decent indicator of his availability on Sunday. This one is pretty important, so we will need to monitor the reports. Update: All reports are that Brown will be available Sunday.

Antonio Gibson RB, WFT (Toe)

Gibson is being listed as “doubtful” at the current time with his case of turf toe. He has not been able to practice in any capacity yet this week as the Football Team prepares for their upcoming Week 14 match against the Niners in Arizona. I would highly expect Gibson to sit this week, and who knows if he gets a chance at a return in Week 15, but without logging any practices yet this week, it sets the stage for a Gibson absence here.

Mike Evans WR, TB (Hamstring)

Evans was not a participant in the Buccaneers Thursday practice, which brings up some cause for some concern for his availability going into the Buccaneers Week 14 clash at home against the Vikings. This makes a second back-to-back practice that Evans was downgraded from limited to DNP, and this is not a great sign. The good news here is that this is the early start time for Sunday, so we will have his status likely either after Friday’s practice reports, or before kick on Sunday. Update: Evans did practice on Friday and Coach Bruce Arians indicated he is ready to go for Sunday

Julio Jones WR, ATL (Hamstring)

At least we got the Julio new early this week. Earlier today, Jones was ruled OUT by the Falcons medical staff as he continues to deal with a hamstring issue that has hampered him for many weeks of this season so far. Obviously, the hamstring is a bit more severe than expected this week, as it has already been deemed that he will NOT play in the Falcons upcoming Week 14 game against the Chargers.

D’Andre Swift RB, DET (Illness)

It seems that all signs are pointing positively in the direction for Swift to re-take the playing field on Sunday when the Lions play host to the Packers for Week 14. Swift was able to take the practice for back-to-back limited participation practice sessions for the Lions in prep for this game, so it seems there is a higher than likely chance that he is ready to make a return. We will make sure there are no setbacks pertaining to Friday’s practice reports, but as long as this stays the path its going, we can likely expect to see Swift back on the field on Sunday afternoon.

Chase Claypool WR, PIT (Illness)

Claypool was not able to take the practice field for the Steelers on Thursday as they prepare for their Week 14 clash against the Bills. It wouldn’t likely be as big of a concern if this was earlier in the week, but with illnesses, and this one doesn’t even mention if it is Covid related or not, can carry on for days at a time. So, with this one reporting on Thursday, and not allowing him to practice, it doesn’t exactly make you feel comfy about his availability on Sunday. Friday’s practice report should shine a bit more light on his situation hopefully.

Josh Jacobs RB, LV (Ankle)

Good news is that Jacobs was able to re-take the practice field for the Raiders as they prepare for their Week 14 tilt against the Colts at home. The bad news is that he was only limited in his first return back to practice after missing last week’s game. It has yet to be deemed what Jacobs status will be heading into the weekend but seeing as how he was able to re-take the practice field in any capacity at least does have some positivity into his availability. We will need to keep an eye on the Raiders practice reports to see if his status is defined more clearly, if not we may be looking at a “game-time” decision here for Jacobs for Sunday afternoon.

Kenny Golladay WR, DET (Hip)

It seems that Kenny may be able to make a return to the playing field for the Lions on Sunday as they play host to the Packers, but his role may be much smaller than a full workload. Golladay is being reported as a “emergency” role type if he does actually take the field for the Lions on Sunday, and I would say that this is not exactly something to feel comfortable about if you are eyeing to play Golladay in the playoffs of your fantasy leagues. It would much likely be safer to utilize another option even if he is active to play somehow.

Jamison Crowder WR, NYJ (Calf)

It has been somewhat deemed that Crowder will likely be coming into the Jets Week 14 tilt against the Seahawks in Seattle with a “questionable” tag after sustaining a calf injury after the Jets Week 13 loss to the Raiders. Despite the injury hitting the injury report on Thursday, Crowder was able to practice in limited fashion earlier this week in preparation for Week 14, so this could play a bit more positively into his status coming into the weekend, but it is a status worth monitoring for Friday’s reports and also Sunday before first kick if not clear in the practice reports.

Daniel Jones QB, NYG (Hamstring)

The optimism is still there for Jones as we head into the weekend and the Week 14 match for the Giants as they host the Cardinals on Sunday. Coach Joe Judge once again expressed his confidence on Friday for Jones’ availability and possibility to re-take the playing field after a one-week absence on Sunday. However, he also did mention that the is “a ways to go” in terms of Jones, as well, so this will be one we need to keep an eye on heading into the weekend. The good news here for Jones is that this is the early start time game for Sunday, so we will have this status before kick-off on Sunday.
