**UPDATED FRIDAY, SEPT. 15 @ 9:45 PM ET**

Welcome to the 2017 NFL DFS Playbook Watch List for Week 2!

If you're just joining us, allow me to explain the DFS Playbook Watch List. It's all about showing you my work and the process I undergo when choosing which players I am considering for my DFS lineups each week. Every Tuesday, I will start with a broad selection of players I am watching for the week based on their upcoming match-ups. I will analyze not just who they are facing, but also what their role is expected to be come game day. Every day I will add and remove players based on injury reports, expected game scripts, potential game flow and other reports which may have an impact on the match-ups. You will always be alerted as to someone new on the list as well as who was removed and why. Think of it as an algebra problem in which I show my work before giving you my final answer which will be the week's DFS Playbook.

Clear as mud? Good. Then let's just get to it and see who I'm looking at for my Week 2 lineups.

UPDATES:

If you're looking to set some lineups that cover the Thursday game along with the rest of the week's slate, the only three players I'm considering here are Lamar Miller, DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green. I'm more on Miller and Hopkins because of their price points. If you use one of them, you can still pay up for the likes of Tom Brady, Ezekiel Elliot and Julio Jones, which means you're well-covered should they not deliver during Thursday's action. Here's a look at two potential lineups that use Miller and based on some of the WR prices, you can find a way to mix Hopkins in and pivot off Miller to someone like Terrance West.

FanDuel: Tom Brady, Lamar Miller, Ezekiel Elliott, Julio Jones, Marqise Lee, Adam Thielen, Jared Cook, Dustin Hopkins, Arizona Cardinals

Draft KingsTom Brady, Lamar Miller, Ezekiel Elliott, Julio Jones, Marqise Lee, Adam Thielen, Antonio Gates, Rishard Matthews, Houston Texans

Watch List Changes Made:

Added (see below for breakdown):

Tom Brady, QB NE

Duke Johnson, RB CLE

Adam Thielen, WR MIN

Kelvin Benjamin, WR CAR

Rishard Matthews, WR TEN

Antonio Gates, TE LAC

Update (9/15)

Melvin Gordon, RB LAC

Alshon Jeffery, WR PHI

J.J. Nelson, WR ARI

Removed:

Deshaun Watson, QB HOU -- I had him in here as a punt play but with Adam Jones returning to the Bengals secondary and watching some bad rookie mistakes on the playback of Sunday's game, I'm looking elsewhere if I want to pay down at the position.

DeVante Parker, WR MIA -- As much as I like him for seasonal use, this match-up just doesn't cut it for me for DFS. He's likely to be shadoed by Casey Hayward most of the time and while there's a chance he and Jay Cutler bring their preseason magic to the table, I'll play it safe and look elsewhere.

Zay Jones, WR BUF -- He's just not grading out as well as I had hoped. His match-up doesn't look great and if the Panthers pass rush disrupts the flow for Buffalo, he's not going to see a world of targets.

Corey Coleman, WR CLE -- He's going to see a lot of Jimmy Smith and with the Ravens pass rush, DeShone Kizer could be looking for a shorter passing attck, utilizing Duke Johnson and Kenny Britt more.

Michael Thomas, WR NO -- Bill Bellichick is going to do whatever he can to take Thomas out of this game and given the price point, there are a number of other options on whom I'd rather spend the money.

Odell Beckham, WR NYG -- With the uncertainty that still looms and the Monday Night game, I'm just not going to take any chances here. Oh yeah, and Eli is still having trouble throwing the ball.

Rishard Matthews, WR TEN -- And just like that, Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye return to Jaguars practice and all signs point to them playing Sunday. I'm out on Titans receivers now.

Update (9/15)

Cam Newton, QB CAR -- I know he practiced, albeit limited, on Friday and he was never going to sit out the home opener, there's just something about his shoulder and the way they've been dealing with it that makes me nervous. I'll still roll with him in seasonal as opposed to a lousy back-up, but I'm not going to risk him killing a lineup in DFS.

Jay Ajayi, RB MIA -- Another Dolphin coming off the board as I continue to lose faith in this match-up. Is it my old Jay Cutler distaste creeping in? Is it the narrative of Miami still in Week 1 mode and could come out sluggish like almost every other team in the league? Not totally sure, but I'm looking awfully hard at the Chargers defense now in GPP contests.

Nelson Agholor, WR PHI -- Been looking a little closer at Phillip Gaines numbers and am not digging this match-up very much anymore.

Virgil Green, TE DEN -- No need for more than one punt at the TE position and I like Jermaine Gresham better with his potential for increased targets with David Johnson gone.

A.J. Green, DeAndre Hopkins and Lamar Miller removed after having played Thursday night.
