2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: In 76 games with the Giants last season, he slashed .250/.319/.342 with 16 XBH (2 HR) and three stolen bases across 253 plate appearances. His numbers were far better against left-handed pitching, potentially setting him up to be on the small side of a platoon in the San Francisco outfield, especially with the multiple left-handed bats San Francisco already has in its outfield.

2024 Outlook: Matos has shown he can be a solid power-speed guy during his time in the minors, and there's optimism he can hit for a high average at the big-league level. It's possible the Giants give him an everyday role in the outfield, but to begin the season, it's more likely the majority of his starts come against LHP.
