2025 Player Outlook

In just 261 plate appearances last season, Wallner notched 31 extra-base hits (13 home runs) and an excellent .523 SLG and .895 OPS. Yes, he's going to strikeout a lot (36.4% strikeout rate in 2024), but he's willing to take a walk, and how can you not love the 17.5 percent barrel rate and 53.2 percent hard hit rate? In fact, if he had enough ABs to qualify, his barrel rate and hard-hit rate would have been the fourth- and tenth-best in Major League Baseball! The sky-high strikeout rate may cap his batting average at .240-.245, but last year's 16.9 AB/HR plays out to 32.5 home runs over 550 ABs. The raw power is immense, and he needs to improve against breaking pitches and left-handed pitchers, but at his current ADP, I love taking a flier on his raw power, because he could be a 28-32 homer guy this year, even in a potential platoon situation.
