2022 Player Outlook
Doval could be in line for some saves to kick off 2022. Doval closed out the 2021 season with three saves late in the campaign. Doval is a young, hard throwing right-hander that can hit triple-digits with his fastball and that may not even be his best pitch as he used his slider 59% of the time last season. Steamer seems to think he’ll emerge as the Closer for the Giants in 2022. They project him for 26 saves across 27 innings of work with a 3.00 ERA and an 11.29 K/9. He’s currently being drafted as the 24th relief pitcher off the board with some immense upside if the Giants find themselves competitive once again this year.
