2022 Player Outlook

Toronto adds to an already solid rotation by bring in Kikuchi, the former Seattle southpaw. Kikuchi is relying on his four-seamer less, while he used his changeup more than ever before in 2021, while slightly increasing his slider usage. He enjoyed a 24.5 percent strikeout rate, thanks to a quality 27.7 percent whiff rate, and filling up the strike zone early and often. He does allow more hard contact than one would like, but he’s not as bad as last year’s first and third percentile average exit velocity and hard hit rate. Kikuchi is an upside arm to target with his new digs, and he doesn’t cost a ton in drafts.
