2022 Player Outlook

Bubic logged 130 innings for the Royals last year, while posting a 6-7 record with a 4.43 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and a 20.5 percent strikeout rate. For the second straight year, not only did Bubic post a walk rate north of nine percent, but his xERA was well into the 5's. Between 2020 and 2021, his pitch usage remained pretty similar, but 2021 saw less weak contact induced, more contact in the zone, and less whiffs overall. The decrease in strikeout rate didn't help Bubic in the fantasy realm, as he needs the strikeouts to stay relevant in fantasy circles. He's still very young and talented, but back-to-back years with an xERA in the 5's isn't going to make fantasy owners overly excited to roster the southpaw's services. He could work his way into a popular streamer, but on draft night, he's a late round flier at best.
