2024 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: What to make of Kelenic at this point? For starters he played the most games in the majors in 2023 he’s played in a season and put up a decent enough slash line. Does that mean it was a good season? Eh… let’s see. The fWAR of 1.3, 108 wRC+, and .321 wOBA suggest he was a better-than-average hitter while the .253/.327/.419 slash line was solid. He also had decent multi-category contribution with the 11 HR and 13 SB to go with 44 R and 49 RBI. On the flip side was the 31.7-percent K-rate but in fairness to him, the entire Seattle lineup struck out a ton in 2023.

2024 Outlook: For Kelenic it’s a case of “new team who dis?” as the kids say. Already on his third team and he’s still 24 the hope is there that his skills mixed with Atlanta’s development track record will work well. To be honest though, if we get a second season of him hitting in the .250 range with 15-18 HR and 15 SB while playing regularly, that’s likely enough for fantasy value. Kelenic is going off as an OF5 in 12-team leagues based on ADP and with the added scoring opportunities in Atlanta, that’s solid enough value. That being said, there’s always the lingering thought that he reverts back to a sub-.200 hitter and gets sent down.
