2022 Player Outlook
Gonsolin’s always been a player with potential, but he’s been done in by injuries. He went 4-1 in 13 starts in 2021 with a 3.23 ERA and a 3.71 xERA. His 10.51 K/9 stands out, but next to his 5.50 BB/9 it shows he did have command issues. Staying healthy will be crucial for Gonsolin heading into 2022. He’s only thrown over 100 innings once in his career and it came back in 2018 across two levels in the minors. He’s the kind of pitcher that managers don’t really let pitch deep into games. Steamer is projecting 139 innings for him this year and a 9-8 record with a 4.52 ERA. But again, getting to 100 innings could be a tall task for him.
