2022 Player Outlook

Marsh has most of the physical tools that you want to see. He has an excellent frame and plays a great defensive center field thanks to his blazing speed. He doesn't boast extreme power,  but last year's 10.9 percent barrel rate and average exit velocity of 92.1 miles per hour was impressive. However, if Marsh wants to get to double-digit home runs in 2022, that 7.9 degree launch angle will need some work. He managed to swipe six bases last season, showcasing that 95th percentile sprint speed. Marsh's defensive should afford him a lengthy leash in the starting lineup to begin the season, and the first thing that needs to happen is cutting into last year's 35 percent strikeout rate. That's simply too high. If all goes well, he'll push for 10-13 home runs, but he could be an above average producer in the stolen base department. Marsh posted a .561 OPS against southpaws last year, so the team could opt to sit him against southpaws, but the Angels would be better off letting him play through any struggles. He's a nice target later in drafts for some cheap speed.
