2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: A freak injury in spring training cost Lux the entire 2023 season, but he should be fully recovered from the torn ACL and ready to go for 2024. For all the reasons many liked Lux to break out in 2023, the same should apply to 2024. Even if he hits ninth in the lineup, that means he'll be on base for the likes of Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman. That's a win!

2024 Outlook: His quality and quantity of contact metrics remained steady across the 2021 and 2022 seasons, and while he may not post elite numbers in any one category, he'll be a quality producer across all five. He'll get pitches to hit, and he posted a .261 average and .338 OBP across his last two full seasons. He'll do a little bit of everything for your team, and we could see a spike in power if he can loft the ball a little bit more. The team could protect him a bit against left-handed pitching, but he made strides against them in 2022. In the early going, I'd expect him to sit against lefties, but Lux very well could post 10+ home runs and stolen bases, while hitting .265 with a .345 OBP, but the potential for more power is certainly in play, as his ability to hit for power was one of his better traits as a prospect.
