2022 Player Outlook

In a career high 120 games last year with the Dodgers, Beaty hit .270 with a .339 wOBA and seven home runs. He didn't make a ton of hard contact last year, as his 86.7 mph average exit velocity and 3.8 percent barrel rate were rather underwhelming. His path to playing time is far more open in San Diego than it was in Los Angeles, and albeit a small sample size, Beaty hit lefties at a .350 clip last year, which is a vast improvement from years past. He may not be an everyday bat for the Padres, but he should garner a good bit of playing time, and post a home run total in the low teens if all works out.
