2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: The jack of all trades for Cincinnati played all over the diamond. He racked up six games at 2B, 57 at 3B, and split 59 games between all three outfield spots. All the while, Senzel’s bat was decent enough. He posted 13 HR, 49 R, 42 RBI, and six steals with a .236/.297/.399 slash line. Overall, it’s fair to say it was a disappointing season from the 28-year-old given that he played the same number of games in 2019 but had a better overall stat line between counting stats and slash line.

2024 Outlook: Heading into 2024 the most notable thing is the change in home parks as he moves from Cincinnati to Washington. However, the other notable difference is that Senzel is expected to be the full-time starter at third base for the Nationals. That knowing where he’s playing each day should allow the bat to settle. The launch angle last year was the best of his career and sustainable and he underperformed his xBA last year. There is room for improvement in 2024, but don’t expect big jumps.
