2022 Player Outlook
The breakout has yet to come, but we've seen glimpses from Adell. Last season, he posted an 89th percentile max exit velocity and a 98th percentile sprint speed, while hitting .246 with four home runs and two stolen bases in 35 games. He spent a good chunk of last season in the minors, and his 22.9 percent strikeout rate from last season is far more manageable than his preposterous 41.7 percent mark in 2020. Adell has all the tools to be a guy that is a yearly member of the 20/20 club, but he's yet to prove it at the game's highest level. At his price point in draft, the reward most certainly outweighs the risk, as again, all of the tools are there. There's volatility with this pick, but Adell wasn't one of the game's top prospects for no reason.
