2023 Player Outlook
Gavin Sheets is arguably the best raw power hitter in the White Sox lineup and a much-needed left-handed bat. He has a 20-home run pedigree but will be fighting for the third outfielder job with Oscar Colas. Sheets hit 11 home runs in 179 plate appearances in 2021 but when given the opportunity to play more in 2022 he could only muster 15 in 410 plate appearances. He did provide a spark at times and over his last 65 games played Sheets slashed a respectable .263/.310.458 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI. This is a reserve who can play the outfield, first base, or DH and can be a key left-handed bat off the bench as a later-game pinch hitter in 2023.
