2022 Player Outlook

Tellez has always made impressive contact at the plate, more so in terms of quality compared to quantity. However, he struggled with Toronto but was much better coming to Milwaukee. He hit .272 with the Brewers and swatted seven home runs in 56 games with the team. Continuing to keep the strikeout rate in check is key for Tellez because diminished strikeouts will allow Tellez to put up average power numbers with a decent average,  especially if he can maintain last year's barrel rate and average exit velocity. Tellez has enough power to hit 20+ home runs in a season as he did back in 2019. His hard-hit and contact metrics are solid, and his .272 batting average with the Brewers is a sign of optimism after a slow start with Toronto. There's no reason to think that Tellez can't hit .260 with 20+ home runs this year.
