2022 Player Outlook

Jansen got off to a slow start to the 2021 season, but he finished strong. In his final 26 games of the season he compiled a .322/.385/.763 triple-slash. He also slugged six home runs and drove in 18 runs during that time frame. Jansen’s offense isn’t as potent as his September surge would suggest but he does have some pop in his bat and his xBA was .018 points higher than his actual 2021 BA. The fact that he’s also had two straight seasons with LD rates above 24% is also encouraging. He’s a good defensive catcher who’ll play almost every day and who has the potential to deliver mid-teen home run power and a batting average in the .240 to .250 range.
