2022 Player Outlook
The fantasy baseball community had long been waiting on a breakout season from Urias. After all he made his debut in 2016 at the age of 20 and in 2021 he posted a 2.96 ERA, 195 strikeouts, and 20 wins in 32 starts. It was a great year and he finished eighth in Cy Young voting. His 20 wins were three more than the next closest pitcher. Urias’s 2021 campaign currently has him being drafted in the top 30. Is he worth it heading into 2022? He should be due for some regression, but still post a solid season. Steamer projects him to regress to a 3.89 ERA and just 13 wins. But the wins are dependent on offensive run support. I don’t expect a full seven-win drop off, but it’s possible he can get 15 and post great strikeout numbers.
