2022 Player Outlook

Tapia fared well in his third full season at the big-league level. While some of his teammates struggled with plate discipline, Tapia actually improved his in 2021 with a 7.5% walk rate and a 13.1% strikeout rate which was down from 22.4% in 2019. He scored 69 runs and stole 20 bags last season as well. He’ll never boast much power, and while he joins a better lineup in Toronto, his path to playing time is far busier, as the Blue Jays' outfield features regulars in George Springer, Teoscar Hernandez and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. He’ll likely start the season on the bench, but he could be considered a late-round flyer in AL-only formats with his ability to steal a couple bases in a loaded Toronto lineup.
