Mondesi is a very polarizing player. There are fantasy managers who’ve been burned by him before and want nothing more to do with him. There are others who are blinded by his speed potential and just can’t quit him. Mondesi is expected to open the season as the Red Sox’s second baseman. How many games he plays is anyone’s guess, but remember that he is truly an example of the walking wounded. Mondesi has had one season in which he’s had more than 275 at-bats in his career.
