2022 Player Outlook

Just a cursory glance at Hedges' career offensive number will tell you all you need to know. He's here for his defense. Over 88 games last season, he slashed just .178/.220/.308 and there is absolutely no reason to expect anything more out of him. He can park a mistake-pitch over the fence every once in a while, but his approach at the plate is just not very good. He could serve as the primary backstop for Cleveland now that Roberto Perez signed with Pittsburgh, but the team did bring in veteran Sandy Leon to compete with him during the spring. This is not a player you want for your fantasy teams in 2022, even in an AL-only format.
