2022 Player Outlook

Cobb had a pretty decent season last year with the Halos. He only made 18 starts as he missed time in August and September with a wrist injury, but that didn’t slow him down when he was healthy and active. He still went on to record 98 strikeouts in 93.1 innings of work. He’s very reliant on his sinker and splitter, but it worked for him in 2021 with the Angels. In 2022, he could be an asset for the Giants who have shown they can revitalize the careers or Alex Wood, Anthony DeSclafani, and even Kevin Gausman. So obviously there’s some optimism surrounding Cobb but there’s obvious reasons to be skeptical. Can he sustain the strikeout numbers from a year ago? Can he pitch well away from Oracle Park? He’ll likely be available on your waiver wire heading into the season, so keep an eye on how he starts out.
