2022 Player Outlook
After earning AL MVP honors in 2020, Abreu continued his dominance with 30 HR while contending for the league-lead in RBI. He finished with 117, second only to Salvador Perez. Abreu did struggle with a career-low .261 batting average which is likely due to a career-low .293 BABIP and spike in his ground ball rate, but both can and should be correctable in 2021. Entering his age-35 season, Abreu may start to show signs of slowing down, but based on his overall plate discipline numbers, it won't be a fall-off-a-cliff scenario so continue to draft him as a top first baseman.
