2022 Player Outlook

Hosmer was mostly a deep league option in 2021. He hit a dozen home runs in 2021 with a .269/.337/.395 slash line. It’s a little disturbing considering he scored 144 runs, drove in 168 RBI and hit 40 home runs in his first two full seasons in San Diego. For 2022, there are some sites that expect him to bounce back to the tune of 19 home runs and 73 RBI, but the overall power will never impress everyone especially since 20 home runs isn’t a great benchmark for hitters anymore. He’s currently being drafted as the 46th first basemen off the board.
