2022 Player Outlook
Kluber had his ups and downs last season, pitching a no hitter on May 19th and then spending much of the rest of the season on the IL. Kluber had compiled a 3.04 ERA prior to his IL stint and opposing hitters had a .214 BAA him. Upon his return from the IL Kluber posted a 5.40 ERA in his last six starts of the season and opposing hitters had a robust .306 BAA him. Tampa Bay was the perfect landing spot for Kluber at this stage of his career. Their starting pitchers average just 4.6 innings per start and they have one of the best bullpens in the game backing them up. The way the Rays handle their starting rotation will give Kluber the best chance at avoiding another trip to the IL and another chance at compiling a double-digit win season.
